    Excellent choices, especially allowing the Monster of Sir Christopher Lee & the Gillman to have their moment. But the two entries for Cushing & Lee were spot on. Hammer, & even the Fifties, wouldn't be what they were without them. Can't wait for the rest of this series! 👏🏻

    That was a cracking list there mate. Some of my favourite films and actors, Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing and Vincent Price. Absolute legends, no one comes close today, you knew if a film starred one of these icons you were in for a treat. Also agree with you on the Mutant from This Island Earth, such a great alien. The Creature from the Black Lagoon was also awesome. A great video mate. 👏👏👏

    Yes!!! Excellent idea for a series Bryn 👌
    I'm already looking forward to your next instalments.
    When you mentioned Christopher Lee as Frankenstein's monster, I couldn't help think you should have picked Peter Cushing's Baron Frankenstein, and then... there he was 😄.
    Excellent list Bryn, I can't fault this at all, your choices are spot on.

    I'd have chosen all 10 from Ed Wood movies. Inspector Clay, Eros, Officer Kelton, Ghoul Man, Vampire Girl, Eric Vornoff, Lobo and of course, Criswell! Final two spots can go to Black Ghost and White Ghost, why not? lol

    Hi Bryn. Cool list, of course two entries from Cushing and Lee is undeniable. As others have stated definitely check out Night of the Hunter with Robert Mitchum as the Preacher with Love and Hate tattooed across his knuckles. An excellent film. I’ve got to shout out my girl Vampira!! No characterization per se but she looks amazing, everlasting imagery!!

    Such a great list, HorrorHands! As you went through the characters, I really started to notice how much of a nostalgic throwback to the 1930s we have in the 1950s....Frankenstein, Dracula, Creature from the Black Lagoon ( a re-imagined King Kong story). Great video!

    Great vlog and start to a new series mate, so looking forward to this. Straight away the original Bodysnatchers, what film. As a child in the early 80s seeing this for the first time I didn't want to go to sleep, and like you mentioned the end seen running down the road then climbs in the back of the truck. It's one I don't own currently, but definitely on my radar now. Cheers mate 👍👊❤️

    Great topic for a new video series, Bryn. Full marks to you for giving such accurate descriptions of three of my all time fave horror icons: Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee and Vincent Price! Love How To Make A Monster. I would have nominated Lee's first Dracula film too as my No. 1 horror character of the 1950s, closely followed by Cushing's Baron Frankenstein. Am looking forward to the 1960s episode. Welll done.

  • @Prof.CliffDavenport.
    @Prof.CliffDavenport. Месяц назад +2

    Oh interesting. Gonna need to think on this…
    Vincent Price in House of Wax is very cool. Starts off as such a nice guy refusing to sell out by making lurid horror crowd pleasers and then turns into a crazed killer when he’s disfigured. Like an early version of Phibes.
    Robert Mitchum as the psycho ‘preacher’ Harry Powell in Night of the Hunter! Just fab and what a performance. 😱
    Of course I’d have Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee in there as Van Helsing and Dracula both superb - I particularly like Cushing’s introduction as a character when he’s recoding his dictation on vampirism and vampires; however I do think Cushing’s portrayal of Frankenstein comes more into his own by the 1960s and if you watch his story arc as a character by giving the films a back to back viewing, I think he generally starts off as a good guy, if a little frustrated by the limited vision of those around him. Whereas by the 1960s Hammer Frankenstein movies he’s totally reprehensible and although brilliant is a greater monster than any of his creations. I mean by 1969s ‘… Must Be Destroyed’ he’s absolutely ruthless. A complete fiend.
    Good shout on Kevin McCarthy.

    Great video brynn m8, enjoyed that countdown, love both versions of invasion of body snatchers and Steve McQueen in the blob, again love the remake of that and Frankenstein Christopher Lee, just a classic legendary film, love any Frankenstein film and van helsing there really is only one Peter Cushing like his role in Frankenstein, just a classic fabulous actor, you left the best till last and my fav horror icon Dracula, love vampires and Dracula, used to come back late from been out on the lash and watch Dracula usually on BBC and channel 4, the hammer Dracula Christopher lee is just thee best and like you say still very atmospheric, Erie, haunting and scary, could put the Dracula films on and watch all week, like a lot of hammer films. Look forward to the 60s Brynn. Cheers M8

    Great list Bryn. I loved the Creature from the Black Lagoon - your dad did a great job bringing the bust to life. I know that Grimm Life Collective have recently uploaded location videos. Hard to believe that there’s still things to visit today from when it was filmed.
