Yes, it's about gasoline in all its elements. It deserved itself its own song since gasoline / pyro is a very big part of Rammstein's identity. Funny thing is, for the official music video, they didn't use any fire at all - intentionally.
When the "fan" enters the stage, Till shouts "Hau ab hier! Verpiss dich!" which translates to "Get outta here, f*** [piss] off". German truly is a very fascinating language ^^ Your effort (pronunciation; song background) is much appreciated. I don't say it too often, but your stage crew talk made me remind you that this and your work in general is very much appreciated.
If you find a way to make your queue viewable, we maybe could provide you with a short heads-up about the song's meaning, so you wouldn't have to research in vain sometimes...

Love Rammstein. Till's vocals are always on point, and German just suits this music to a tee!! 🤘🤘
If you look closely Till tries to light the flamethrower himself, but the torch thing fails. Then he turns to the stage side and the guy from the crew rushes on the stage. Very professional handled by Till, no hectic, he knows that he can rely on the crew. On the other hand: It is also said that Till can get really furious (after the show) when effects did't work ...
Yes, then some people can duck. You can even experience it live when the power went out in Vienna. They recreated it once, in zigzag.😂😂😂
Love that little "Hey! Hey!" snipplet, such a nice nod to The Prodigy's "Firestarter" (RIP Flint).
Rammstein acknowledged the entire crew that made the show happen by running credits on the stage screens at the end of the concerts this year. I thought it was a classy thing to do.
Thank for thecomment about road crew, I was a backliner myself for 15 years, and you're right, the public don't imagine the work it represents. But (maybe I was lucky) in the team itself, the artists I worked were always very thankful with us.
And concerning the "fan" on stage, be sure that when you're a fan of Rammstein, nobody want to take the risk to go on stage like in some shows: we would be to afraid to be just in the middle of a fire or explosion :-)
I think also their security crew are extremly vigilant to avoid an accident if a crazy guy try his chance :)

About the stage hand responsible for lighting the flame thrower..... I think it is even cooler than you say, because, in orher videos of this video....Til lights it himself on the tank. So the stagehand recognized it didn't light, and was there to light it quickly enough that you didn't notice the glitch.
Fun fact : from time to time Till actually help the crew to tear down the stage after a show!

Yes! Most of the Rammstein's songs are simple. They saved the complexity for the stage. It keeps bigger, Bigger and BIGGER! :D

This is the song that could get you a speeding ticket if you're not careful especially if you watch the music video. Super ridiculous but fitting.
Stage crew always there when there's a technical failure. The poor guy that set it up though. Till was likely super pissed.

The song is about about various things you can be addicted to - and then what they are addicted to... They don't need heroin, nicotine, cocain, caffeine... All they need is benzin. 😁
As a native german speaker i often tell people how Rammsteins lyrics often have several layers of meaning, that's one of the examples. When you think it a little further... who's addicted to benzin? The world economy. You can very well see that song as a critique on capitalism and how it destroys the environment. You don't have to, though. Considering they are also talking about needing dynamite and nitroglycerin it also might mean the military industry or war itself.

Oh yes, if the crew would not be out there, then there would not be a stage, a show, nothing. I also agree, that often people forget this, unfortunately. I never was a member of a stage crew at concerts, so I think that you have there for sure more people, but at bigger theaters, you also need technicians and others, to help it running. :-) Well, as I mantioned before, I was one of them on stage as an actress, but I could often work with a director who gave them credits by letting them also on stage and that we where clapping to them as a thank you. It always took a few seconds, that the audience did it as well, because it is not really usual to do so. Unfortunately. I am amaized that you like German so much. I never heard one saying that it is so nice. I met many people, but the most don't like it, because it sounds too agressive for them. Hard to tell for me of course. ;-) Thanks for the video David. I enjoid it as always.

FEELIN' YOU Thomas!!! It's all good man, as long as you push it for the right reason...because you genuinely wanted to push it. I never ask people to push it, because to me that comes off as begging and I'm not like that at all. If you choose to push it that's great, if not that's alright too. When people don't push that button, that just tells me I have to work a little harder to earn it.
What l know about Till Lindeman is that if you you invade his personal space Till will hurt you and if you be disrespectful towards Till or someone Till knows and Till finds out Till will hurt you Till is such a quiet person when is not performing
Only reason they didn't overdo the pyro, is because they are indoors.
When they ran the test for their intended equipment, the fire sucked in all the oxygen in the venue.
Don't get me wrong, the MSG consert was amazing, and i love watching it.
The band are pure breed showmen, and the guys responsible for lighting are incredible, so they easily make up for it.
But it was a bit of a "Rammstein light" experience.
Hard to say that without sounding negative, wich im not.
But its the truth.

Funny You mentioned MOTORHEAD, Lemmy vvas a roadie for Jimi Hendrix. And some guy posted a picture of Jimi grinding and pushing his stratocaster into the marshall stacks. And You actually see LEMMY standing in the back of the marshall and lean against them, so Jimi doesnt push them over :)

Check Beast in Black dude, they do something like an 80's heavy power metal thing with probably the best vocalist on earth. Check the song Blind and Frozen, it is amazing! And they have a motorhead's Killed By Death song (which honestly is better than the original).
