No member from Rammstein can be replaced. The are so unique in many ways. Great reaction. This is by far one of the most popular songs from them to react to. Solos are rare in Rammstein performances. So whenever there is one, its a treat.
R+ is my favorite band, I completely agree, none of our boys can be replaced 🤣
Fun fact 1: Richard got together with Till's wife at some point when Till and her drifted apart. He had a kid with her that still has Till's last name. They went to relationship therapy to deal with their issues and ended up ditching the wife. Richard kept the girl with him and raised her together with Till for a while actually. They both have a ton of experience as single dads and seemingly did an awesome job, which is seriously impressive considering how hard band life is on families.
Fun fact 2: In some performances, the aforementioned daughter is hung in a cage crying & trying to escape above the stage during
Rammstein concerts in the song 'Tier' (I think) which is about a father raping his daughter, behaving like an animal and the daughter taking revenge by murdering him. She said she had a blast going on tour with her Dad and her 'Uncles' :D
Fun fact 3: Till's eldest daughter works on adult theater pieces now. Till wrote songs and performed in her BDSM-style reinterpretation of 'Hansel and Gretel'. He got to wear the Japanese schoolgirl outfit he wore for his collaboration with 'Haftbefehl' in his later work 'Mathematik' (in which he makes fun of Haftbefehl, a german 'gangsta rapper' which is a genre mostly focused on how good it is to be dumb and that real-life sucks, in an epic manner without the rapper realizing, it's hilarious).
She seems to adore her dad's work :D
Fun fact 4: Sometimes the band members kids and grandkids show up in their videos as side characters or sing some backing vocals!
these are just some of the reasons why they are the best band in the world, they have literally cracked the code how to remain together, even when fame tries to corrupt your soul and feed your ego, many famous bands could learn from them
@@edvinparmeza1298Yes, they always stuck together in a relationship and the children also always took part. Kruspe's daughter was often involved as a child. They're all uncles, really.

In families there are also quarrels. But unlike families, Rammstein is very democratic with endless discussions. Complicated, but probably their recipe for success for a long career together.

This song used to have like a 2-minute live intro until 1997. They got rid of it and lengthened the drum solo instead in later performances.

This is one of my favorite live videos of them on youtube. So fun. And so delightfully good. Schneider just kills it.
This song right here...is thee reason I fell on love with Rammstein. This was the first song I heard from Rammstein way back in 95. I was 8 and I have never heard anything sooooo "far beyond driven" and hard. My adrenaline went straight to 11 and I was hooked.
A lady actually contacted the band about this song. She had explained that the song made her feel that it was ok to talk about had happened to her about being raped.
One of my favorite solos that Richard does is in the song Herzeleid. I'd love for you to react to that song. Unfortunately there isn't a live version on youtube I don't think. I'll find a link and post it below.
They can do moves in Weisses Fleisch because this song has no pirotechnics. Their entire stage is basically minefield with all crazy pyrotechnics, and they must be really precise about what they do, or they would be badly burned by flamethrowers.
I so love the old Rammstein (the first two albums)..
Mainly because I found Rammstain back in '95 and am kind of stuck with that era Rammstein.
They have made good songs since, but to me nothing as solid as the first two albums. :)

Regarding the cohesion of bands, because that obviously amazed you, let me say that is the German way. Once you have made friends, and I mean really friendship, then a lot has to happen before it goes apart. That is German culture. Difficult to get into the inner circle, but then for life and through all the ascent and descent together.

I absolutely love this one because Schneider's got his drum solo - unfortunately it is quite rare. Guitar solos by Richard are actually quite common, it depends on the live mixing if you can hear them.
I see, your background knowledge is growing more and more ;) So a fact about the band and this song: The band members knew each other and partly played together in different bands before they founded Rammstein; this song is from their first album (1995). Till writes the lyrics for every song and the other members then decide if it is good or if he has do write new lyrics. They are very democratic in this. If one member doesn't like one thing it gets cancelled. Back to this song: Till once received a letter by a fan, a woman who was raped indeed, and she thanked him for writing a song about rape, so that she could find the strength to speak out loud about it. This made them believe even more that they have to keep making songs about "bad" themes.
There are so many songs from Rammstein, Till's side project Lindemann (first Album in English, second in German, the band was only Till and Peter Tägtgren from Pain) and Emigrate (Richard's [lead guitarist] solo project, everything is English) that I hardly can pick one to suggest, since they are quite many on the list, BUT I want to start you with Lindemann - Praise Abort. The first album was more a fun-like album, but the songs are all great.

This song strikes a chord with me since I was raped by two older boys when I was 10 years old. That is something that I will never forget, and when that happens to you, whether you're a female or a male, it can and will destroy you. I am not the same person I used to be, and all these years later, I still have some level of PTSD, even though I have been in counseling for it. Also, both of my sisters are victims of rape as well, and for these reasons, I have absolutely zero compassion for rapists and child molesters. Kudo's to Rammstein for tackling such a horrible subject such as this, and for bringing awareness to something that has been hidden in the shadows for so long.
I'm not sure if it's one of the videos that got blocked or is privated, but Asche zu Asche is another one of R+'s early songs that really showcase Olli's bass playing, as well as a keyboard solo for Flake for live shows. The Live aus Berlin was a great era to see how far they've come as far as special effects, costuming, and pyrotechnics. I like to call it the tinfoil and lasers era. Links 2 3 4 from the Mutter era also has a nice moment where Paul and Richard get to show off a little together on stage.
I haven't done a reaction to Asche zu Asche yet, and it's not in the que.

there is a german punk band called "die ärzte" (the doctors) the drummer performs the whole show (3 hours and more) standig behind his drum set which is huge . he uses 4 drums sometimes more. in some songs he is the vocalist. check´em out

Gojira is another of the few bands that hasn't had any line up changes since they got together.
I am sure U2 isn't your cup of tea BUT another band who's never changed their lineup and they have been together since the late 70's and release 2 albums at least every decade, and they've all basically made the charts from War (1984) and on :)
@@brucenadeau5920 - Actually, they are. I have their first 5 albums but my comment was strictly limited to Metal bands. I know there are many bands with unchanged line ups in other genres.
@@Module79L I actually find it RARE in rock music period to see bands stay together more than 10 years or 3 albums. Generally there is at least one line up change IF bands can last past the 10yr mark.
Outside the 70's bands I cannot count many bands that lasted long that didn't change their lineup a bit.
I find it impressive Rammstein has made it all these years with their original line up!
@@brucenadeau5920 - Just off the top of my head, here are 13: The Police, Green Day, Blur, Radiohead, Black Stone Cherry, Alter Bridge, Monster Truck, The Strokes, Garbage, Guano Apes, Muse, Rage Against The Machine, Clutch or even Oomph, to include another Industrial Metal band. But I'm sure there are much more.
@@Module79L Some of those bands did break up for several years, did solo projects or rebranded under a supergroup though, BUT when you look at the number of singed none Indie bands to the bands who have stayed together or not list members, it's a low list compared to those who have made it and not stayed together with it's original members.

You should check out Weisses Fleisch from 1997 at Philipshalle, Düsseldorf. It starts at 9.15 of the full concert (better quality). I think it's more amazing when a band doesn't have one single original member.

If you want to listen rammstein with lot of solos try "liebe ist fur alle da", one of my favourites. Also if you liked drummer showmanship, he really outdid any drummer I have ever seen with his performance of Pussy in Mexico. Only other drummer with that kind of showmanship was Keith Moon he invented drummer showmanship in my opinion.....also radiohead has all of it's original band members for 28 years....

Hey David, sine you're a Prog guy I am shocked that you haven't gotten more TOOL requests since they are progressive metal, and you dig metal... I ASSUME either Tool Nation has yet to hit you OR they are in the Que as well just waiting to get around too! lol
What is your view on instrumental tracks? I was just introduced to a GEM THOUGH their "genre" is SO MISLABELLED... I was told "punk"... Hell NO, PROGRESSIVE and more a Rock-a-Billy/Punk-a-Billy IF you had to label these guys...
