I have 21 years in trucking, and I believe that any opportunities given to perfect our skill set and prepare drivers for the different obstacles we face out in the field are great assets for the company and the driver's career.
Very good trainer. One can view the complete test or new skills on Trucker Steve CDL Instructor on you tube. Keep up the good training and thank you for your time. Steve
So at prime they had to repaint the yellow lines on the pad to make it look like that? I do like the test. It test you on actual situations you might see out there. Especially the 2nd one when turning around curves
Conparing CDL to private pilot. Proving you can operate in a safe manner is the goal. The real learning comes from doing not being tested. Getting any license is a license to learn, not provi g youve mastered your craft.
is this going to be done by third party people doing the test or dmv personnel? i took my cdl test about 2-3 months ago. another friend of mine had a guy who couldnt straight line back and they passed him via a third party company tester. i see guys who ask me prior to me getting my cdl how to uncouple their fifth wheel. i see some good in this, knowing where the back of your trailer is at is pretty good thing to know. having to use both side mirrors is also a good thing to know. but it really is confusing on what stage your at on the tests.
I wanted to learn how to parelel park before alley docking parelel is hard and most needed but at school I do it with no problems easy now or hard I think they did a good job with the sheet pre inspection and skills more organized and makes more sense 👍
It looks a little too easy. When these new drivers get out here in the real world there will be alot of challenges that they didn't prepare for. There should be more to the backing test then this. It looks like the standards are dropping.
The point system is lower in order to pass. A good CDL school will teach alley docking and more. My you tube channel goes deeper in this. Trucker Steve CDL instructor.
A good CDL company, like Prime, will take you out for 50,000 miles and make you learn on the job. A CDL school simply teaches you the basics and teaches you how to pass the test then lets you go. Training such as what Prime has are what drivers need. Simple things such as how to operate in a fuel island or at a shipper and receiver are what need to be taught as well. Most CDL schools don’t do this.

Thank and that's a good channel
This the same thing I had to do in my test it was easy just make sure you pay attention
For sure 💯 💶 💯 💶 💯
I just passed my state test last week. I was so nervous about this maneuver. It was a breeze super easy.
Great job!
In Maryland, we been doing this for over one year
Yeah they tested the program

Yeah but you should be getting driving out there also

This seems easier than the current parking maneuvers 🤷🏾♂️
100 percent
You got a cdl?
@@railfanjk8964 yea
Would this replace the current backing skills test (no more alley dock or parallel park)? Or would the alley dock or parallel park still be required?
This is the test when it changes
Will you ever have someone come on live and talk about intermodal? Would love to hear more about it!
I been trying to find one
@@TwiztedD hopefully you find one! Do you know if the passenger policy still applies if you’re local ?

Yeah should be the same as now same truck you practice with is same one you use on the test and everything
Do you guys use the new pretrip inspection sheet? Could you maybe do a video on the new pretrip?
No I do not I tried to get one
@@TwiztedD I have the new pretrip sheets if you still don't have one
So you have to honk the horn three times correct
4 is what I have my guys do but yeah
With a good PSD trainer like yourself it should be good.
Thank you I know I got this!!! Ready for it
So is parallel on this test too ?
Nope it's a offset
The reverse offset is like an blind side parallel park

I think the 90 is more important than the parallel park don't know why they don't teach you anymore
This pad has been harder than the ally dock for reals

I don't think so I just think they are making everyone have the same test to be more fair

Doesn't look as hard as the old test
Definitely not
