  • Video from an August 1998 visit to Quick Hill in Round Rock, Texas, the site of the house and property used in the filming of 1974's horror classic, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. This is the last known video footage taken of the house before it was relocated later that month to Kingsland, Texas and converted in to a restaurant. With your hosts, K-tron (Kelsy Teague) and Mr Sludge (James Hall)

    Thanks for posting this......I was here 10 yrs earlier......high school memories.
    only difference then in 1988 , some one was living there and loved the fact that the house was in "the Texas chainsaw massacre" movie so much....that they would dress up like leather face and his "clan" and chase people that came to see their house.....usually on the weekends.
    They posted signs up on the property that said " TURN BACK , OR GET HACKED!" "BEWARE OF LEATHER FACE" "GRANDPA'S HUNGRY , PLEASE KNOCK"

    Talk about memories! I've visited that place 3x in high school. Couldn't even bring myself to go in the first time. My initials were carved in the wall were Leatherface's sliding steel door was. This house is what sparked my interest in exploring abandoned places. Awesome video!

    This was no doubt a surreal experience for you guys...! I can only imagine being able to have visited this house while it still sat in its original location. I know that it's been restored and moved to another location, but to have seen it, even in this state of disrepair, on its original site would have been monumental! wow, i literally just watched the movie 20 minutes ago and then watched the adamthewoo tour, but it shows how it looks "today" in a different location turned into a diner, the road is completely gone now with grass growing on it, and is almost unrecognizable, then i stumbled upon this "hidden gem" & couldn't believe that you guys actually went to the house and not only showed the outside but gave us the grand fucking tour! that is so fucking cool that you got to see the actual chainsaw house before it was fully demolished, & now people will be able to come watch this tour after they see the film for generations to come! bravo gentlemen, bravo!

    they should have taken the circular handle from the staircase. It was screen-seen in the movie, and there was nobody for miles to stop them, plus when the demolition crew turned this place into a Diner years later, they removed all the furniture from inside and dumped it anyway so it was just 'garbage' but to horror fans those items inside are props.

      ***** do you know why the mask guy cut the body humans and take there skin faces and put it on his face !? Ill tell you why ! When he was a kid he had a problem with his skin face and everyone at school laugh at him. He dont have friends and never had friends because everyone making a fool out of him but he wasnt a boy who like to hurt the others. Ed gein that day came to him and he took care of him and he start playing with his mind saying to this poor kid that ; all your friends hate you and they dont like you, you should hurt them because they are bad. That day this kid became the masked guy who hurt everyone that he look at, taking there faces off......the masked guy thinks that ed gein is his father and he was like his sidekick. The story is true... ed gein mom is a crazy bitch who always said to him when he was a kid that alll the girls out of the farm are bitchs who cheat and lie to the others. Thats why ed gein is bad ..... the story is true... and if you really saw the interviews about ed gein.... it seems that some interviews you didnt watch them..... because i saw this interview and i am telling you the story about this crazy familly.... and if you dont beleive me go on youtube to see the interviews...... and yea i like horror movies tooo . This movie is my favorite. And just to say if you know or not ..... they made an example of the story in other movies because its actually a great horror movie. Example like: wrong turn 1 2 3 4 5 .... if you watch wrong turn before... you can see that those familys who eat people... its because of the texas masacre story.... the texas masacre.. is an idea to make other new horror film storys. You seem that you dont watch enough interviews about films..... your rite that you watch horror movies... but i watched horror movies and also all there interviews since 2000

    this is absolutely amazing. i would have loved to have gone here back in the 80s and 90s. the place is hardly recogniseable today. they carefully took the house apart and moved it to Kingsland tx. did you know that the grandfather house from the movie was opposite this house back when it was filmed but it burnt down shortly after the film was made..

      @davefilms345 7 лет назад

      yes they did. its when sally is looking at the zebras on the wall.

    • @davefilms345
      @davefilms345 7 лет назад

      he is on about the old grandparents house. which they all visit before the main house. when they reach the grandparents, Franklin starts cutting up the van. just as a reminder. that house got burnt down a few months after the movie was finished

    • @davefilms345
      @davefilms345 7 лет назад

      no. you still have the graveyard from the start, gas station,( which jas been bought and going to be remodeled) and quick hill ( where the house was). but there's not much too see there half of it has been built over and very unrecognisable today

    We Just missed it! We went after the house was gone! But we at night. I loved it! Even without the house. Seeing them walk down that dirt road brought back a fun night! Thanks for this video. =]

    That looks like the original wallpaper from the movie...would have been nice to grab a bunch of it before the building was moved and remodeled. BIG $$$ to collectors im guessing!

    They have moved this house to Kingsland, Texas and it's now a Restaurant. Me and my sister are planning in taking a trip to eat there..I sure hope we get to see it. I watched the movie when I was a kid, and it was scary. It is really amazing the remodel of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre house. I think I seen it in 1979. I was about three when it aired at the show. But it's a good thriller...

    Amazing to see it then compared to how it looks now. And it's sad to see that there's nothing out there now. Even the road is disappearing. Theres a guy filming videos there now. I just watched one where he tried to find the location of the dry creek bed that Pam and Kirk wanted to swim in. It's frustrating as hell because there's nothing there anymore, no way to line up shots or anything.

    It was falling into disrepair and vandalism by some tourists. The last of the family had moved out in '97 and the county road was re-routed around the hill, so access became more troublesome. At least now it is well preserved in the tiny hill country town of Kingsland. The original site in Round Rock is partially transformed into a big retail space. I live about two exits south of this location and I visit with friends every now and again. It's not the same. It's better off in Kingsland.

    Taken from the video description above: Video from an August 1998 visit to Quick Hill in Round Rock, Texas, the site of the house and property used in the filming of 1974's horror classic, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. This is the last known video footage taken of the house before it was relocated later that month to Kingsland, Texas and converted in to a restaurant.

    It wasn't in Plugerville. It was Round rock. Unless you live here you would be confused were the line starts and stops. If you ever come here, the line starts by Ricks cabaret. Before they started building LaFrontiera plaza we could see the house on the hill by the water tower.
