This was awesome to watch! My wife and I visited Texas in October last year to celebrate our anniversary and we visited all of the locations in this video with the exception of where the house once stood. There's been a lot of changes to the gas station since this video. You can buy horror themed merchandise (which I did), there's a replica van in the back, you can actually spend the night (s) behind the station in these little cottages and the original film is also screened @ night in the back, as well!! We also visited the Old Crawford Mill and the gas station shooting locations from the TCSM '03 remake, as well. By the way, food at the restaurant/house was great!! You're the man, Sean!! Keep doin' your thing!

I made a trip to Austin the other day and drove by Old Quick Hill Road. The road is still there, but was very overgrown at the time, so I didn’t bother to stop and get pics/video. If I’m still in the area later this season after some of the vegetation dies off, I might try again. The city is on the verge of enveloping that whole area, so sad that there are hardly any traces of it left. Great video, thank you for sharing
I was there today and the trees are marked for demolition so it might happen pretty quick. I entered the old quick hill rd from Hester’s crossing and walked to the top of quick hill. There are brand new apartments there but the old road is still there. Maybe less than a year left? Soon it’ll be completely unrecognizable
@@ScallyWagJones Thanks for the update, I am no longer working in the area, so I probably missed my chance. Still, it's been great to see pics/video from those that have been there recently and giving us updates.

we went to quick hill 08/18/2023 new apartment complex where the house stood, but was still able to stand on the road. we grabbed a few pieces of the asphalt, got some cool pictures. super happy we were able to make the pilgrimage from Maine to see all the 74 locations

Hey Sean! Are you ever going to do HHG episodes on Tobe Hooper’s other horror classics like The Funhouse, Poltergeist, Salem’s Lot, and Eaten Alive (with cameo by Robert Englund)?
I actually been to the gas station and I loved it. The fact that it was in the middle of nowhere to is what made it even cooler. I love the texas chainsaw massacre movies. Me, my mom, my dad went to the gas station and before we pulled up at the gas station I told my mom and I said " mom you know what I just now realized." And she says " what Hailey? " I said " you know what's the best place to have a murder happen." and she says " I have no idea." and I said " in the middle of nowhere because there is nothing around and nobody can hear you scream for help. " and she says ' that's creepy, why would you even say that? ' and I said ' well if you think about it, makes sense and if you look you are in the middle of nowhere ' 😂😂😂 I wouldn't mind going back there it was so cool to experience
Incidentally, you say in the TCM video (that was filmed 3 years ago) that the iconic road in the film (where Leatherface does his little chainsaw dance) is probably going to be bulldozed into oblivion soon due to impending development, but do you know if that road is still there right now? Also, what camera do you use to film your HHGs videos and what editing software do you use to edit your HHGs videos?
18 years??? There’s probably condominiums built on that road by now. In addition to it being used in one of the ICONS of horror films, that road also looked spooky with the grass growing on top of the asphalt and would have been a great location for a spooky short film. Sad it’s gone.
That box was my brothers when we were out there we buried it!! Lol thats so funny it was found. My brother's name is tommy and that was the first horror movie i made him watch so he did some graphic saw with his name and droped it in a little spot he dug and than stomped it in!! It was summer of 2007
Incidentally, Gunnar Hansen reprised his Leatherface chainsaw dance in the 1994 movie Mosquito, which also starred former Stooges guitarist Ron Asheton as a park ranger!🦟
Hey Sean, do you represent any of the surviving original TCM cast? If not, I’m sure you know who does and if so, please look into getting them out to the east coast.
8:20 The newest owners completely fucked the upstairs. They gutted it and walled it off. The.window at the head of the stairs that Sally jumps out of is still there but that is about it. However they did rename it Hooper's so I guess that's cool.
Do you know the exact location where Franklin was killed in the wheel chair it's one of my favorite death scenes. And do you know if any of the cast members are still alive I know that gunnar sadly passed but do you know if the actors who played Kirk Sally Jerry Pam Franklin are still around I know that Bill mosley is still breathing. They should do a where are they now for the cast of Texas chainsaw massacre one day
I'm pretty sure the actors who played Kirk, Jerry, and Pam, are still alive. The hitchhiker and grandpa are still alive too. The woman who played Sally has passed away, and the guy who played Franklin passed away too. Gunnar Hansen of course, and Jim Siedow (the cook) have passed away as well.
i know this was NOT filmed in 2020, at the gas station the sign was not “bilbos landmark” it was there before 2011 and after it was renovated into what it looked like in 1973. (this video was filmed in 2011?
Yes, I was asking for this. Never knew this actually got released. I love the opening crawl. Once you said 'retarded", I went uh-oh. Then you address it in the very next paragraph. Hilarious! I only wish you'd said "bee-zaar" Laroquette-style. And I always love the little reenactment of scenes you do.
The thing that I would never understand, is why some stupid idiot would ever move that house. Leatherface was known before Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees. I don’t understand the logic ? God Bess Gunnar Hanson , May he rest in peace RIP.
This video was too long. Halfway through it, I got hungry so I left it playing and went to the kitchen to fix myself a sandwich. But then I found out that I'm out of mayonnaise so I went to a store. There, I saw the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my whole life. But I'm a really shy person so I took up a three-year personality development course so I could introduce myself. She was very friendly and all, but unfortunately, she had a boyfriend. So I said, all good, I'm a mature person. I wanted the best for her and I harbored no illusion that I am the best person for her and she seemed happy with her boyfriend, so I didn't bother her anymore. But we kept in touch and we became friends and I got over my crush on her. Then she broke up with her boyfriend, we drank some alcohol because of it. I told her she'll be fine and I wished her well. I still think she's the most beautiful woman in the world, but like I said, I am over my crush on her. It was like five years already since I first saw her. Besides, I am quite happy with the friendship I developed with her. It was more important than a crush. So we kept hanging out, drinking, having coffee, and all. I had a girlfriend, she started dating other guys. My girlfriend wanted to live some other life without me in it, so I said, "Okay, I want the best for you and I want you to pursue your happiness." My lady friend and I drank alcohol about it, and she gave me the same advice I gave her when she was in that position and I became okay with the breakup immediately. But we were really drunk, so she spent the night in my apartment. I only have one bed, so you know what that means: She took the bed and I slept on the couch. But on the couch, I really can't sleep. Something was bothering me. So I tossed and turned for about three hours, then I finally couldn''t take it anymore, I stood up and went straight to my room where she's sleeping. I approached the bed, gently sat on it and I reached for her shoulder to pull her closer to me. She stirred and woke up. She asked what's up. I told her, "you know, the first time I saw you, I was watching a video and left it playing to get myself a sandwich then went to the store to get some mayo then I got so distracted by life that I forgot to finish the video." She said, "You know what, I've been wondering about a weird noise in your night drawer." So we opened that drawer, and lo and behold, there's my phone and this video still has two minutes of play time on it.
