The Direction is amazing too but i agree the actors come across as real people as though its a docu-drama with the exception of Franklin Hardesty, the guy in the wheelchair. His performance is good but it comes across as a "Performance" rather than natural acting like the rest of them.

Eh. I’m not bashing their acting, it’s amazing, but I think everything together made this film. Acting, Cinematography, music, it just couldn’t be what it is without any one of them being as good as they were in this film.

@7:39 Even though it's dark, it's so awesome to see that scene that Gunnar Hansen mentioned in the audio commentary, when he tripped & fell and the live chainsaw went flying out of his grip.
That's why he turns corners more carefully during the chase scene in the final cut.
And then starting @10:44, the first time Gunnar Hansen ever did the chainsaw dance. So cool!

My hell. It actually almost did happen according to gunner Hansen in the DVD commentary. I believe it’s when he’s chasing Sally out toward the street, and the saw I believe cut through his boot and heated up the metal plate on his leg. He said it burned him really badly.

Very Cool video, this film still holds up solidly. Does anyone know if this original house is still there or is it long gone?

12:27 OMG how would you like to own one of those original clapboards? I would have it in a glass case! I got to see this in 1980 when it was theatrically re-released across the country in all the cinemas with newspaper ads and everything.
