this video was perfect, i came here due to not knowing which usb port to try due to the instructions being shoddy. thanks so much sir.
did this all work for you?
trying to figure it out my self
What a relief thank you sir.!! Finally.. 🙌
Glad it helped
Thanks for this vidro, what a lifesaver... PSA: If the red light blinks a couple of times and then holds solid red, try using a different USB drive, worked for me
Great tip!
Didn't work for me
Thank you! I bought a Codex barebones unit that has this mobo in it from the place that sounds like a rain forest and I'm waiting for a Ryzen 7 5700G, in the meantime I thought I'd get a jump on updating the BIOS and I was having some issues. I don't have all the components I need to test, but I think I am all squared away thanks to you. Thank you for taking the time to make this video!
Glad I could help!
I bought this mother with a Ryzen 7 3700x and it did not give video, it was stuck on the EZ BOOT led. I downloaded the last bios and updated according to the video, the red light was flashing for more than 5 minutes, and wualaaaa, it worked !!! Thank you very much for sharing this solution!
Thanks for sharing and glad it worked out for you in the end
thanks bro video was a life saver need to know info could not get my setup to post!!!!!! No I will be able to.
Glad I could help
This video helped me out in a big way. Thanks for this. Was wondering how to do it properly.
Glad it helped!
Thank God and you man!!! It works! I was almost crying but I reset the usb through cmd like you did, them copy the same bios firmware and works. Thank you very much again.
You are welcome!
Good video as usual ; Mike .My question is can i get a 5 2600x on the board you are using`?Or does this only work with CPU.s that are supported ?My one is not. supported on the board.I have seen in forums of people getting the cpu working with the board.I liked your review of it.
It should do most b550 boards will accept 2600 2700 etc
Thank you for your help, very well explained
Glad it was helpful!
Im from argentina, and the only thing I want to say is thank you, because you have helped me a lot
Happy to help :-)

1. Do you done cmos battery removal reset trick
2. Which name is better msi.rom or MSI.ROM because i seen many videos with MSI.ROM
@@yogesh124 hi yogesh! I dont remember very well becouse i did it a year ago, but i remember that i did exactly the steps that he said in the video. I hope that can help you
I am planning to buy the first PC in a couple of months, and I was looking for tutorials about updating the BIOS on this specific motherboard, which I am also going to buy, because for it to be compatible with the Ryzen 5 5600 the BIOS must be updated if it isn't already.
Thank you very much, imma keep this in my liked playlist!
Thank you for this video. I had read how to and saw another video, but your video reassured me and gave me some peace of mind about doing it.
yes it isn't as scary if you have the knowledge on how the process works and what to watch out for
THANKS FOR THE KNOWLEDGE... Worked like a charm...
glad it helped
You saved my son's life! Although it was a fault at my part and I didn't connect the 4-Pin, dumb me!
Thanks this worked for me. I flashed with the RAM/CPU/M.2 connected only thing not connected was the GPU.
Bro, I have been five hours trying to upgrade the BIOS, without results since I watch your video, you're a crack
Glad to hear that
Finally an easy to understand video thanks 🙏

Getting this mobo and the ryzen 5 5600x next month. Good to know I don't have to stress this, seems fairly easy. I'll be back :D

LR Studio Thanks for the feedback! Please consider sharing the video and information on your social media, it really helps to get the message out there.
Thanks for uploading this video. Had to do this yesterday so the board (which I think still had it's original BIOS) would accept a 5600G processor.
Glad we could help
Excellent! YOU save my day. Thanks from Argentina!!
You're welcome!
Great video, thanks Mike.
Glad you enjoyed it
Subscribed as soon as I saw this video come up and it's working a charm (R5 5600 CPU is installed in my instance, not affecting the process). Once it's done and the CPU is in, do I just put a GPU in and hook it up to a monitor, and wait or is there another step?
after the flash just carry on and build as normal
Awesome channel, thank you so much for your work, it is really helpful!
You're very welcome!
Nice video Mike! Also enjoyed the PDU video earlier, keep up the good work!
Thanks! Will do!
Thx a bunch. Building a new rig with this mb and a 5600x.
Hope it goes well for you :-)

Hey Mike, I know this vid is pretty old but I have a couple questions about my first build. I’m choosing this board and a R5 5500 non X. 1. Is it an absolute must I have to flash bios to get my CPU working on this MOBO? 2. After this process is done, Do I need to let the MOBO cool down before I add other parts or how do I go about building after the process? Thanks.
most likely new stock will be flashed already, and there is no need to let it cool down
@@mikesunboxing so one last question and thank you, but with the 5000 sticker would you recommend I just build my pc like normal or should I flash bios to latest just to be very sure?
@@univrhse Flip a coin - entirely up to you!
@@mikesunboxing I flashed bios like u did and everything went perfect. Thank u for ur help mike. Very appreciated

el vídeo que estaba buscando!, muchísimas gracias.
thanks for watching
Una pregunta,e recomiendas descargar la versión más reciente o la misma versión que muestras en el vídeo?
Just did the all the steps, thanks a lot. It’s my first build, to add or to may ask the motherboard made some sound as well, when it completes and CPU light turns off and on. Idk maybe I was noticing too much lol.
Glad I could help
Thank you friend, you're a friend!
Thank you too
Awesome Video! same mobo with r7 5700x. Does your build run at 3600mhz? I tried it but it crashes after enabling XMP. I can only run it at 3200mhz. I followed removing the battery and tapping the CMOS switch to reset the bios.
yeah and also ran at 4000mhz, generally down to the RAM and the CPU memory controller
7C95v2E is this the latest bios version? when I tried to update after reseting the bios. the pc will not run when set I it to xmp.
THANK YOU, this video helped me a lot
Glad it helped!
Danke, mit USB 2.0 hat es funktioniert.
thanks for watching and commenting
Wich bios is the most stable for 5600g? Should I clear the cmos settings if I add gpu later on? Is the new beta bios good?
The latest one probably is best
Thank you Mike! Really appreciate it.
You bet!
@@mikesunboxing I have this same board, when I turn on the flash button it blinks 6 or 7 times and then it stays red and does not turn off or blink, I have tried 4 usb ,, 2.0 ,,, 3.0 ... could you help me pls, thanks

du you know if an MSI B550M Pro VDH Wifi that i bought new a few days ago will support 5000 series out of the box? some people were telling me it does but some people also said that id need to flash the bios
it depends how old the stock is, the box should have a 5000 series ready sticker on it if it is pre flashed
Actually it's mentioned in the manual which usb port is for the bios backflash. idk why you recommanded to just guess and use 2.0. ASUS has 3.2 usb as bios flash
U save my life ❤i also have b550m pro and i got my 5600x with this motherboard and don't open my case😂
Sorry for asking this late, in case it's going to be my first build, the mobo battery shouldnt be removed unless the mobo has been used previously?
yes that is right
thanks for this video! :)
No problem 😊
Would you recommend doing this with a brand new motherboard if i want to pair it with a Ryzen 5 5600, or only do it in case it doesnt boot?
if the board has a ryzen 5000 series ready sticker on it you should be fine, but i would also recommend installing the newest bios at some point for security and performance patches
u saved my life thanks
Thanks, Mike. Will try this later!
Did it work?
@@mikesunboxing I chickened out just used the stock BIOS version out of the box lol. However, is it possible that I'm getting high temps (60c minimal load and 80c~82c full load) on my CPU due to my BIOS not using the latest version? I just ordered a CPU cooler..
@@emkei7136 if you are using the stock cooler that is about right, although you could check the cooler is mounted level and fully screwed in
@@mikesunboxing I got a cheap cpu cooler and temps are now 35-40c idle and 60c while gaming! Thanks for being in touch with us viewers, Mike.

would this motherboard if purchased now work with the ryzen 5 5600 out the box? and is there any risk in following this process without knowing what if the bios version may indeed be updated enough to be compatible?
hard to tell but as long as it hasn't been sat a warehouse shelf for ages you should be okay
Thanks Mike
now it works with my 5700G tysm
Can i install any BIOS version? Or i have to jump from the oldest one to newest? I don’t know my MoBo bios version i just bought it and im putting in a 5700x so the box says only supports 3rd gen or newer with the bios update, please advise me
i would use the newest BIOS version, that will have up to date stability and security fixes
@@mikesunboxing Thank you that’s what i did
Do I have to take the cmos battery out and short it if I’m using the motherboard brand new?
No need really if you are sure it is brand new
I should use the latest bios version over the one you chose here right?
yes that is right
thank you this video was helpful to me
Glad it helped
Hello, right now there are more recent versions from 2024, Which one would you recommend ?
*There are new version more recently (2024-01-09) says:*
" - Improve memory compatibility"
*And other (2023-10-12) says:*
"- AGESA ComboAm4v2pl 1.2.0 update.
- AMD secury issue patch
- Support new Ryzen 5000 CPU."
I have Ryzen 5 5600g. thanks.
i would get the newest one
Hey, I just have a Question. Do you have to have a pc with windows or can you do it with a Mac
either is fine as long as you can format the USB to fat32
Tbh I did this with all the components attached and without removing the cmos battery and clearing cmos and it worked
Thanks for the info :-)
