    I found your article particulary enlightening as for me it worked1 I have a X570 Gaming board that was completley dead. I therefore dained the bios as you have shown me. I then decided to try going back in the bios to number 10. I then tried updating the bios and it worked switching off the bios update at the end - this I then repeated successfully. I finished up using the latest bios - which proved successful. Many thanks for your excellent info.

    Hi, Mike. I had to do a little diagnostic work of my own. I noticed the flow meter of my open loop was barely turning and the PC temps were up 10 or 20 degrees higher than normal. After checking the pump, and GPU water block, I discovered the CPU water block had a blockage that preventing the liquid from flowing through. So, I drained the loop, took the CPU water block apart, and cleaned it. After I wake up enough, I’ll find my thermal paste and reinstall the water block. I think the clog came from a new dye I used. I need to flush out the entire loop, and then I’ll refill it with conditioned distilled water.

    • @mikesunboxing
      @mikesunboxing  3 года назад +1

      sometimes the water can go a little bad and react with other elements like dyes and whatever. hopefully after the clean up and refill it will be back to normal

    • @OlettaLiano
      @OlettaLiano 3 года назад

      @@mikesunboxing I think it will. I just flushed out all the components and they look good. I'm going to reassemble the loop with soft tubing because I'm buying a new case next month so I'll save the hard tubing for that build. Too bad the mobo didn't work. But I think you're right about the X on the box. It was probably already RMA'd. I understand why the store's resale them. The B550 Unify I sent back worked fine with my 3900X. It was just with the 3200G it had problems. The next buyer will most likely not use an APU and have a good board. Take care, I gotta get this loop back to gether. Cheers.

    • @mikesunboxing
      @mikesunboxing  3 года назад +1

      After more research it seems almost every board in the b550 range hates 3200g and 3400g in apu mode even if the 2400g works fine, very weird

    Thanks for this Mike. I never knew motherboard could be such a pain. Looking online it sounds like MSI boards are a pain but buyer could be unlucky with a product that slipped through QC or damaged somewhere. I have an Asrock Phantom Gaming 4. I don’t know why but I was always an Asus fan boy. Never had issues with Asus. their software is easy to use where as Asrock is for the enthusiast who know what they are doing because they have limited information and software is not user friendly. I do own an Msi rx480 8gb ddr5 and it was an Amazon warehouse sale back in 2016. She’s a beauty and never failed me. I think they make good video cards. Looking after her coz of current gpu shortages.

    • @mikesunboxing
      @mikesunboxing  3 года назад +2

      MSi do sell a lot of boards especially in the b550 range so there are a proportionally large failure rate. this board i think was either a return already or a manufacturing defect i think, but of all the msi boards i have had i think i have only had two boards fail, so not that bad

    Just want to say thanks for this video. I tried everything in this video before watching, but thought, I would give it a shot. Didn't know about the MSI motherboard not allowing a flash of the same bios. So I had tried to install my 5600G. Nothing. Flashed to 27 which is the version that supports it. It did all the lights and such as you would think. Still nothing. On a whim, took what you said about the MSI not allowing to flash the same bios. Took the version previous and flashed it, and now, I have a working system and don't have to wait 3-4 weeks on an MSI RMA. You saved me a lot of headache.

    Mike! a question though, what does those 2 capacitors do between the cpu and the ram? @ 3:40 i accidentally rip one( the lower one) of the capacitors while removing the stock cpu cooler of amd. managed to put it back but didnt resolder it. then after that the pc started normally, but when i do editing stuffs using a 4 ram stick(kingston fury beast 3200mhz) the software im using seems to freeze and the monitor turns black but after a few seconds it comes back to life but the screen(desktop) isnt responding well, so i have to restart everytime. so i did a couple of troubleshooting for the gpu(furmark,3dmark,occt,etc gpu is fine no issues found) also ddu'ed it a couple of times and is on latest gpu drivers. replaced some stuffs already like the cpu cooler, the psu, reseated the ram, gpu, did a win 10 reset. it was the same thing. not until i removed 2 of the ram sticks just now, slot 1 and 3, and now Premiere pro seems to work fine. so does those 2 capacitor have to do with the ram slots? cant seem to find any info on google so i really have to ask. please reply man thankyou!!!

    I always check to see if its a used product you sometimes can tell by packaging stickers. Then get a 10x magnifier and look at the screw holes and any other odd anomalies if there is I just send it back immediately Its not worth fooling with and you usually only have a few days to return it. Ya another retail trick is to send it past the return period so you cant return it to the seller very common scam. That new mother board should be in pristine condition its what you paid for.

    I've been looking all over for help finding a possible fix for a ROG Strix b550-f board that I think I may have destroyed last week. Full disclosure, I wasn't paying the attention that I should have and when I switched out the stock cables of my EVGA 750w GT PSU for the set of CableMod Modmesh Classic RT Series that I'd picked up, I didn't know at that time that that particular set of cables was intended for a Thor PSU of 850-1200w.
    When I went to power up my PC with that setup, the fans in my case and GPU repeatedly 'spasmed', like they pulsed, start and stop, over and over while a repeated clicking sound came from the PSU. There was no smoke or ESD or anything like that, and since then. I've been able to determine through contact with EVGA support and external testing that my PSU and GPU are fine. As far as the motherboard though, I have tried everything I can think of given what I have at my disposal and there are no signs of life, whatsoever. No onboard LEDs, no relay of power to any fans, no response even when I try and jump the front I/O power header.
    I've already ordered another board but if anyone has any legit ideas that might help bring my old one back to life, I'm open to and grateful for any suggestions.

    What if i press the flashback button and no led glows ? I mean nothing appears on the motherboard. I am trying to fix my mobo but the pc wont boot after a bios reset. I remember i flashed the bios 2-3 times before each time it was successful. Now when i attempt to do so, with the cpu and mobo power cords connected, the lee doesnt turn on. What does it imply ? Been seeing a few of your videos and they have been super helpful.
    I don't know if you or someone in the comments could help me, as I have this exact Mobo, but I got it all set up and it posted to the BIOS. I got really excited and turned it off, thinking I would install Windows/Linux the following day. When I came back, I powered it on and now it's powering on and off, like with a flickering. I flashed the BIOS as seen in your videos with the latest from MSI. Running AMD Ryzen 3700x, 650w PSU, and Corsair vengeance 2x 8 gigs ram. I feel like I have an $800 brick in the corner of my house now. Any advice would be awesome.

The fans turn on for a second then repeats the cycle. Any idea what could possible be the problem. 2 days ago I followed your other video on how to flash the bios. I did that and it seemed to work fine. Now I can't flash the bios to an older version or same bios file. I tryed unplugging everything and also reseating the ram with no luck.

    I've literally went through this pain no less than a month ago with two MSI boards and that damn CPU debug LED, I had a MSI X470 Gaming Pro MAX with a Ryzen5 3600. Had that running for best part of a year until updating the BIOS.. It looked like it had completed but failed to reboot after restart. Then got stuck on a CPU Error LED. That board doesn't have bios flashback so i tried new ram/CPU and nothing then tried old CPU in a B450 Tomahawk MAX and same problem CPU LED i then swapped out to another CPU and still the same issue. That board did have a bios flash button and it was temperamental sometimes it looked like it successfully flashed others it didn't Exactly like yours shown. After many hours routing through the internet looking for similar issues i came across a reddit thread about the CPU debug error loop that the boards can get stuck into. Apparently this can be a common issue with MSI boards : www.reddit.com/r/MSI_Gaming/comments/fctlu4/msi_b450_tomahawk_max_cpu_debug_light/ this thread details the issues. TLDR basically its a crapshoot to what if any of those fixes work. Another one that apparently works is hold power button down and flick PSU switch off/on to force the a power drop as seen here: ruclips.net/video/vdJPz00sxDg/видео.html&ab_channel=YahoobamTV%21
    If the end I sacked off MSI and went for a ASUS board and worked first time with all my old equipment. Was my first time with MSI and unfortunately after these issues will be my last.
