Hi, You won't need to buy new fans. 3-pin fans can work in the 4-pin pwm slot, they just won't be PWM, meaning you can't really control the speeds by software. I believe they are called voltage controlled fans, which you can control in the BIOS. so PWM, 4-pin, headers have a keyed portion and 3-pin fans can slot into them. Hello! I have a question, can the motherboard handled the two 2 ssd m.2 nvme and 4 ssd SATA working a the same time, if not what SATA ports will be disabled?
Nothing is future proof. AM4 is more or less a dead platform in that there will be no more CPUs for that socket, at least that's what AMD has said even though they keep releasing new 5000 series CPUs. Is it a budget option? Yes. AM4 CPUs still perform well and will continue to do so, but AM5 CPUs are better. If you're looking for a platform with longevity you want AM5 motherboards, cpus, and DDR5.
i have been looking to buy the non wifi version as well and from what i found they are exactly the same apart from the wifi and bluetooth components. Do you meant 5600G? There's not 5500G that I saw. Regardless, the bits will work together well. If you're just relying on integrated graphics, your gaming experience will not be the most amazing, but it will do. Having said that do not expect to play Cyberpunk at good framerates if at all. More casual gaming should be alright. I def recommend going for a 500 - 1TB NVMe if you can afford it as you'll want more storage for games on top of the OS. They'll all be compatible with Win 11, so you're sorted there. If you can, save up for a discrete GPU for a future purchase so you can have a better gaming experience.
Hello, I am writing again. My motherboard arrived and I am wondering what screwdriver would I need for the m.2 screws. And also my board has a sticker "5000 ready", does it mean I do not need to flash the BIOS? Also really nice video, definitely gonna help me for when im building my PC
Correct, you do not need to update the BIOS for your 5000 series CPU. If you're using a 5000G series, I want to say you won't need to update either. A standard Philips head screwdriver should do you fine for the m.2 drives. Just don't over-torque them so you don't strip the screws. If you have a multi-bit screwdriver with bigger and smaller Philips bits, this might help you.
I wish you had done the MSI PRO B550M-VC WIFI, instead, the one you're doing has been done to death. I think the VC is a better board than the VDH, but no one has reviewed it, can't figure out why ! I am looking to buy one very soon and need more info besides what I can extrapolate myself. Edit: You did not mention this board at the end as a possible alternative within that $$ range ?!
@@MiddleofKnowhere Understood, did not know the release date(s). It's just difficult when trying to find a good (and inexpensive) Home Media Server board. Not much data out there that is not running a Xeon (used) processor on a Supermicro board that's not cheap. The way that you do your reviews are thorough, concise, giving very relevant data. Unfortunately I can't say the same for most other review channels, of which most are focused on "Gaming", which is very weird to me as I can use one gaming rig and will need two maybe three servers. Anyway, thanks for your detailed and very professional videos !

Make sure your Video cable is plugged into your GPU and not the Motherboard video port if you're using a discrete GPU (like an nvidia 3070). If you're using a G CPU like a 3200G with onboard graphics, then plug the monitor cable to the motherboard. Make sure all your ram is seated fully and are in the right slots. Also make sure all power cables are fully plugged in as well. Finally, sometimes PCs are finicky if you don't have a keyboard plugged in (sometimes mouse too) so make sure those are plugged in as well. Without more information about your build, that's about all the help I can offer atm.

can Install hdd in this mother board
yes, you can install hdd's on this motherboard that are SATA based. No IDE, or SCSI.
@@MiddleofKnowhere thank you for your reply appreciate it🙏
I wish you had done the MSI PRO B550M-VC WIFI, instead, the one you're doing has been done to death.
I think the VC is a better board than the VDH, but no one has reviewed it, can't figure out why !
I am looking to buy one very soon and need more info besides what I can extrapolate myself.
Edit: You did not mention this board at the end as a possible alternative within that $$ range ?!
I didn’t mention the VC motherboard because I did the VDH video 5 months prior to the VC’s release.

Understood, did not know the release date(s).
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching. I’ll be doing a couple of mobo vids for am5 soon. Managed to find a sub $200 x670 board and a sweet b650 board.

Thx !
Will check them out, but $'s prevent me from AM5. Also to sweet a deals on the AM4 stuff !
does this motherboard have stereo audio? like would I be able to hear players on my left or right because the motherboard I currently have doesn't do that
Will using pump fan point for 140mm fan be safe?
Yes this should be fine.
how good is the support for 7.1 surround sound my headset is ubs and i am still tyring to figure out how to use it
I need help men , I just got mine and I installed everything but it doesn't shows video
The problem with mine it's that I can't upgrade bios , the red light starts to blink but it doesn't finish never
Make sure your Video cable is plugged into your GPU and not the Motherboard video port if you're using a discrete GPU (like an nvidia 3070).
I buyed this motherboard and using since 6 months i wanted to know if it supports dual channel ram as now i am planning to have 2 16gb ddr4 sticks
Hiya. I discuss RAM support at 05:41, and it covers your question.
I have a question for this motherboard. Can it use Ethernet finished the video yet am still confuse.
Yes it has an ethernet port. I go over what solution is used in the Rear I/O section around the 15:43 mark.
Is this mucu better option than the Gigabyte B550M DS3H?
yes this is s tier b550 motherboard
