I just ordered one after watching this video, my current motherboard is the ROG Strix b450f gaming ii. Used it for 1yr and now the dram debug light is on. I tried to replace it with a new ram, reset bios, reaset, try every slot and even updating bios and still no display
When they go they go mate!! So frustrating just make sure its not your cpu tho mate. Icc controller are normally on cpu and can cause same issue. U can't go wrong its no frills but has everything u would want and need.
Just completed a build with this board yesterday. Very pleased with it. Fit and finish is on point. Everything works as it should and for the price it has excellent features.
Ordered this motherboard for a pc I built for my sister in October of 2022. Used a Ryzen 3600x paired with a RTX 2060 super and 16gb Corsair 3600mhz ram. She uses it for gaming primarily and hasn’t contacted me about BSODs or instability yet so the board is functioning exceptionally. Really great board as it also allows her to have many cpu and gpu upgrades in the future should she choose to do so. Overall the motherboard has worked out for her and I don’t regret choosing the board.
Yes mate I would use anything up to a 3800x or 5800x on this board with no issues anything over that you should really be investing in better mobo due to power delivery and vrm. Just make sure its says 3000 ready and you should be ok unless you have a 5000 series cpu and it will need a bios update 1st. Regards
I think one underrated thing this board has is the extra space between the primary 16x PCIe slot and the first 1x PCIe slot. Other motherboards of this price point just slap on 1x PCIe slots for the sake of it. This motherboard would have been perfect had the last slot be a 1x or 4x in the shape of 16x, but it's good enough the way it is.
Check the VC version. It has the 16x (but really only 1x) slots all the way down. I'm really annoyed at how matx boards are skipping the top slot when gpus are getting taller than 2 slots and matx cases are going down to only 4 slots. Might as well go itx at that point. I went out of my way to get a matx case with 5 slots but my current motherboard skips the top slot so I'm looking at the VC to correct that.
9:13 That's a VGA not DVI port. But good review overall. I was looking for one with for the MSI B550M-VC Pro WiFi in particular, but couldn't find any video reviews. This was the next best thing, so thanks!
Just wanted to give a plus 1 for this board. I bought it last year to replace a faulty Lenovo legion motherboard. It runs the latest am4 integrated graphics cpu. It was super easy to setup and has worked flawlessly in my work pc. Funny enough I have purchased 4 other boards up to 4 times the cost in the last 12 months and this has been the most easy to setup and has worked with little or no fuss, setup issues or anything else. Just goes to show you don’t need to spend crap loads of money. Performance has also been stella. If u don’t plan on overclocking, it can’t be beat.
Just built a gaming PC with it's sister board... B550M-VC WiFi. Ryzen 7 5800X3D and RTX 4070. Installed two 2Tb M.2's and 32GB Corsair RAM. It's been amazing. It has no problems with any of these parts and the WiFi and BT work great.
Just ordered this motherboard for my gf's sister and it's gonna be her first ever PC and I'm glad I made a really solid choice. Thank you for the thoughtful review. Decided to pair it with the R5 5600G so she can use it for school until we find an affordable GPU. Appreciate it mate!
@mitchellsteiber510 I dunno if he will reply but I can tell you 5600g works great and depending if u have a 5000 ready or not will depend if it works straight out the box. Hope that helps
even b450's have their place in the gaming market honestly people like me don't replace their parts until something is broken so as it stands most things that are gen 3 and above are still pretty relevant
@@Grayest_Fox I play 1080p at high frame rates, just a preference. I swap out my 6650xt for my 3080 when I want to play at 1440p on some games but really 8GB as of now is enough for me because the games I play aren’t VRAM hungry. All on gen 3 parts because gen 4 is barely an upgrade over gen 3 unless you count 3-5 seconds of load time differences as an upgrade
What do you think about this build Ryzen 5 5600 Rx 6600 RAM - Corsair Venegance Pro 32 GB (2x16 GB) MSI B550M Pro Vdh Wifi Cooler master TD300 mesh MAG A650BN SSD Kingston 1TB I think its not bad And what can i upgrade with a small price?
I just ordered one in 2024, pairing with a 5800x, a Thermalright phantom spirit mini, zotac 3070, 750w corsair psu (gold), 32gb 3600mhz ram and a tiny matx chassi with a side vent for the gpu. really looking forward to this build, will return in a week when everything is settled, i was really intrigued with this b550 pro-vdh wifi board! so much features for 127 dollars!
Planning to get this for my first build, with a Ryzen 7 5700g (GPUs currently too expensive), since it's also for work (software dev stuff), will hopefully get a rx 6800 xt when the prices drop.
Have this since 2020 - initially with an R5 3600 + RTX 2060 - now with R7 5700x + RTX 4070 - so far no complaints... Although I'm not a fan of MSI software... But I was able to avoid it by running OpenRGB for my RAM
I have two questions since i have one coming in soon for my first build, 1. Does the bios require multiple updates or can i just install the latest update first thing? 2. Do i need to install certain drivers for the built in wifi to work?
Depending on the mobo model it should come with 5000 ready and then u don't need to do any bios update at all. Personally I always like to upgrade to the latest stable version to get all the updates etc. If its 3000 ready u will need to do this as a 5000 series cpu won't work. U don't need to have the cpu in the socket tho just power and flash drive with latest bios. My WiFi worked straight out of the box but again always update them to get latest updates. Hope this helped 🙏
do you think this vrm/board/chipset is strong enough for a 5700x3d primarily as a gaming/budget gaming pc that will last for a little while ideally until am5+. The only action mine has seen is a 3600 with 3200mhz c16 ram and an 5500xt 8gb. But it would be nice to put 5700x3d and perhaps a 3070 into my rig if possible, ideally a 4070 super. Mine was open box for 84$ XD in 2020 summer. Otherwise ill just get a b550i pro ax from gigabyte which ive used for itx builds...and just plop it into a m-atx chassis. Theres a white asrock board B550m pro SE thats pretty cheap at my local microcenter for 85$ new XD compared to the still 120$ new MSI but it has a VRM/shroud which makes me think it has a higher quality VRM but that could be doubtful lul. From what ive seen on buildzoid...even the higher amp/quality vrm some dont even need a heatsink its just a marketing/gimmick with gaming-"GRADE" boards or x platforms etc. 6phase 4+2 on this one...but if its not going to see any insane/huge loads/workloads on CPU end i figure it should be fine for an X3D chip thats relatively modest in regards to voltage/clock activity vs an r9 zen3. As well as transient response/need.
I am really considering this board as it is really good value. However in 2023, a board needs a 2.5 Gigabit ethernet connection (I shouldn't need to buy an extra card) and ideally HDMI 2.1 but that's a lot to ask. Thanks for the full breakdown of the board!
Thanks for the comment and for watching I really appreciate it! I get the 2.5gbps but on a £125 mobo maybe not tbh this has 1gbps = 125mb/s so not too bad. why would u want hdmi 2.1 on mobo can i ask?
@@TechCheckUK many mini pcs are coming with 2.5 from the factory. I heard that 2.1 is needed for dynamic HDR true 4k, and has a higher bandwidth capacity..is that right?
@rogerhalt3991 that's correct but you would never use the output on mobo mate. Always your gpu unless you have a cpu with internal graphics and no external gpu that is.
@rogerhalt3991 u can get them mate but you would need x670 or z790 mobos (higher end) mate. Good luck on the build ans yes APU is tge only time you would connect direct to mobo.
I wonder if this motherboard is still better than gigabyte b550m ds3h, or perhaps there is better alternative for the pro-vdh and d3sh mentioned up to this 2024 comment. I am planning to use either of the r5 5600g, 5600, or 5600x for this one. And, holy shit man, you really respond to commenter's inquiries up until this date, smashed that sub button!
Hey thanks for watching mate 👍 personally in 2024 depending on your country and price I prefer the newer ds3h board but both will work perfectly fine with all 3 cpus you mentioned. I try to respond to every comment. Thanks 4 the support I appreciate it 🙏
Is Ryzen 5 3600 still worth it as of this year 2023? and using this motherboard? Do I have to upgrade the Bios? will be using it mainly for work and for some games like GTA V, PUBG, Valorant etc
Yeah 3600 is still OK 6 core chip. Just ensure your pairing it with a gpu thats not going to bottleneck it so 1660ti or 2060 or 2070. Playing at 1080p you will be fine. As long as your expectations are correct and not wanting 150plus fps etc
@@TechCheckUK yes planning to pair it with gtx 1660 ti or non ti or the RX 6600, but which one's best? I'll be playing on a 1080p only, but how can I increase the fps if I want to?
@@TechCheckUK for the monitor, my ideal is a 1080p with a refresh rate of maybe 144Hz, I guess that's the sweet spot, maybe I can achieve atleast medium-to-high settings?
Hey do you think you could build a pc for me? If you are okay with it, I will be contacting you within a month. Or could you please preferably help me build mine
This was and still is a solid "everything you need, nothing you don't" motherboard. But there is also one more detail that's important for a mATX board like this, if it goes into a compact case: the pci-e x16 slot sits at the very topmost position possible. That's huge to make some breathing room for the graphics card, since most motherboards now have that slot at the second position from the top, that makes the graphics card sit lower, and if it is a 3 slot one, right against the floor/psu shroud of a mATX case. That was in fact one of my requirements for a motherboard, on par with it being mATX and have 2 M.2 slots, for the "B-Stock parts" project I recently built to replace a big tower that I will now move permanently to server duty. Can't say I did too bad honestly, this motherboard + 5600X + 4060 ti, all with warranty, for less than 500€ wasn't too bad of a deal I think (I already had ddr4 ready to go in).
1ST TIME BUILDER - will it be compatable w/ an AMD Ryzen 9 7950x3d? I;m considering pairing it w/ am A,D Radeon 7900 xtx, a Thermalight Perless Assain 120se& 128 gb RAM in a Corsair 280x case
I was about to plan to buy a b450 to save some extra cash when i have the saved up money for my future build, glad someone mentioned this board to me in my reddit post in r/pcbuilds. Such a fantastic board has all the necessary premium features that you need, gen 4 m.2 slot, pcie gen 4 slot, ARGB headers, Built in wifi and Bluetooth. No unnecessary RGB vomit on the heatsinks and shit, just standard board with all you could really need. Edit: also the USB-C Header, you would never really expect that kind of header in a budget board. Gladbits there if ever the case your using or upgrading to has USB-C Port.
@@TechCheckUK no probs man, glad you made an updated review for this particular board, i have a few local shops that still sell this board brand new and cheaper since its over 3 years old now right?
Hi, I want to build my first PC for play at 1080p Can give me any advice in order to know if I'm choosing the best components? Cpu: Ryzen 5 5600 Motherboard: MSI B550-A pro Ram: Corsair or silicon 2x8 3200 Mhz Ssd: I'm looking for one that have cache memory but not too expensive Psu: Thermaltake 600w 80+ bronce GPU: this one have me crazy, cause I'm thinking in the Rx6600 but at the same time the 6650xt/7600 looks like a good option too, what do you think?
Lots of things to say here mate. 1st off dependent on price go with 5600x over the 5600 if not much difference. I would always also go with 3600mhz ram not 3200mhz due to Speed and the infinity fabric and 5000 series loves faster ram try get c16 too. Psu can't be underestimated personally unless really budget build I always opt for a gold rated modular and think about upgrades as psus can last 10 years. At 1080p 6600 is a great gpu and all them mentioned will be brill I would look for best deal 😀 good luck 👍
Will using a PWM fan cable splitter allow me to individually control 6 case fans if they are plugged into 3 case fan hubs on the motherboard? (3 front fans together, 2 top fans together, and 1 pre-existing case exhaust in one)
Is there any harm in updating the bios using flashback without first trying to boot and seeing if it is updated enough already? Also is this still better value then the slightly more recent b550 m vc wifi board with a updated wifi card
No harm at all unless you not confident in doing it correctly as u could brick your mobo if not done correctly. Totally up 2 you around the mobo choice mate I think this is a great choice and great cost 👍
Just ordered the same mobo today. Got it around ~$120 (INR ₹9755). I was confused between this one and MSI B550M Mortar Max Wifi. But, stuck to this one as the later was actually bit more pricey and was more around the $190 (~₹15500) My question is will it work perfectly with 5800X3D? Because it kinda like a temporary spare mobo as I literally fried my previous Asus X570. I didn't want to spend much more on an expensive mobo, as I'm planning for a completely new PC upgrade with AM5, probably later this year. So, there's no point in spending too much for now. My primary use case would be Gaming at 1080p. And I have a pretty well ventilated case with plenty airflow. Also, any better suggestions you would like to give for a budget of around US$120-$150? Wifi and Front USB C is a must, in my case tho
Great Vid, i got this with my 5700x and 7800xt. question thou would it be fine for me to use the 2nd m.2 slot would there be an issue with the space because its gonna be covered with the GPU? should i put a heatsink or not?
So if i had a ryzen 7 5700g this motherboard isnt for me? Dose this mean it wont work as i i have the ryzen 7 5700g and 3070ti. But cant seem to find any info on if all MB support my CPU
Hello, how are you? I'm in doubt between it and the Asus a520 Tuf Gaming Plus ii. To use with an r5 5600 and an rtx 2060 and pay even a little less. Do you think the best investment is this Msi?
Currently building around the r7 5700x3d and a Radeon RX 6750XT. Is there any better board for $100? I’m currently planning a micro atx build with this board but am open to a bigger one if there’s a better value
This is a great board for the cash mate - sure there is newer ones with wifi 6 and an extra few slots here and there but nothing wrong with this one. I've used it 10+ times
Yo ehh so i am planning to buy a pc (build it myself ofc) and i have this motherboard in mind. Does this only support wifi or can i connect a LAN cable? And I have a AMD Ryzen 5 5600G will this be perfect or do i need to purchase another cpu? Thx for the help
Hey mate loved the way you explained ❤ But im very much confused about the mobo So basically im planing to build a pc for hardcore gaming and streaming and editing as well. Here are spec which iam planing - Ryzen 7 5700x , Asus or ASrock rx 6750xt which one do you suggest to buy one of these , 32 gb 3200mhz ram , 1tb hardisk ,1 tb ssd , deepcool 650w smps, Gigabyte b550 gaming x v2 or msi b550m pro vdh wifi which one is best . Please guide me for my best build ...
I'm looking at the VC version of this board, I think the only difference is if the Wifi is AMD or Intel based. One thing I have not found out yet is if using either of the M.2 sockets takes away the usage of some of the SATA channels. I learned about that on my current system when I tried to add a drive and had to disconnect something else because my M.2 disabled one SATA channel. I've found many motherboards do this. With 8 SATA ports, this shouldn't be an issue, but would like to know this if you have that info. Thanks.
Hi mate you are correct yes - mate.2 gen 4 in slot one runs direct to cpu and second m.2 slot is gen 3 and disables 3rd pcie slot and slots 7-8 sata inputs.
@@TechCheckUKThanks. I actually called MSI after leaving that question and their guy told me it doesn't take away any SATA channels. But most boards seem to do that, so I lean more to your answer. But with 8 SATA ports on the board, that still leaves me 6 so won't be a problem even if it does. Thank you.
@YoSpiff it deffo does mate but glad u reach out and asked msi - talking from experience and using this in 5+ builds its ports 7 and 8 when using both m.2 - best of luck 👍
Still relevant in 2024? Planning to build my first pc for gaming+ editing+ (sometime streaming) With ryzen 3600 + rx 6600+ 650w? No interest in OC cpu except RAM.
Yes absolutely- personally try and get a 5600x instead of 3600 as much better performance even if u have to wait ab extra month it will be much better mate
Hello! I’m planning to use this mobo for my first ever gaming/ music production pc build. My specs would be, R7 5700x and rtx 3060ti, 3200mhz cl16 32gb ram. Would this board be good for that? I really have no plans in over clocking.
Yeah u could deffo do it no issue - personally I always try and match the budgets so higher cpu gets a better spec of mobo but if this has everything u want and need then yeah it will be fine
Thanks for the great and highly informative video. Does the PCIE4 x16 run on full 16 lanes when the upper PCIE4 m.2 is being used? Also is the upper PCIE4 m.2 run on 4 lanes?
Hello, I'm considering building an AMD rig including this mobo and the 5600. Can this mobo handle the 5800x3D? Asking this for future upgrades, thank you.
Hi mate the simple answer is yes but wether you should is a different question. It's more of a budget orientated board that has everything you need but I wouldn't be going past a 5700x
@@TechCheckUK Thank you for the reply. Which board would you recommend for the 5800x3D? I see the MSI B550 A Pro on sale but I haven't seen a lot of people talk about it.
Yo mate, I’m upgrading from an a320m due to heating issues with the CPU, I heard some reviewers saying CPU’s can get “hot as hell” in this motherboard, would I have any problems? I’m using a 5600x, it used to go up to a hundred and TWENTY degrees and instantly shutdown on my old a320m
Hi mate, u will not have any issues with this mobo. I have used 5600g/5600x and 5800x3d just to test and as long as you have a decent cooler regardless of AIO or air tower cooler u will be all good 👍
Will this handle a ryzen 9 5900x? Or will the board limit the cpu? Otherwise, which matx board will you recommend for the 5900x? I'll be using it with a 4060 and 64gb memory
why where you looking at this board? features or price? yes the board will support a 5900x but i cant help feeling that you have got some really expensive parts listed and then going a little cheap on the mobo buddy
how can u tell if it is 5000 ready right out of the box? mine says its 3rd gen ryzen ready so does that mean my 5600x will work right away without a bios update?
It all depends on bios version mate, it's really easy to update if it's not currently supporting 5000 unless It says 5000 ready I don't suppose it will be straight out of the box though
Hello, i bought a ryzen 7 5700G, 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance 3200, SSD Crucial 1TB SATA and my case is a Tt V200 TG with 3 fans. Do you recommend this mother for my set up. PD: sorry for my english 😅

U shouldn't need a bios update NO but will depend on what bios was pre loaded. Lots of people telling me they purchased in last 3 months and worked fine just like mine did 👍
Nice mate 👌 all depends on installed bios tbh mate mine came with a bios that supported 5000 straight out of the box 📦 but some mat need a bios flash depending on purchase date and where from. Hope that helps
Yo 😎! What's the most powerful Ryzen CPU than can run on this Mobo? Is it the Ryzen 9590X? And is it relatively easy to make them 'work' together? Thanks
Hi, thanks for this video. I have a ryzen 5800X3D and AMD RX 6900XT . A B550m for me is enough (with wifi). I had a little issue with a gigabyte B550M DS3H AC wifi . Do you think a B550m msi pro vdh is a good and a better choice ?
Hi mate I know this mobo well - imo u deserve a slightly better mobo with your choice of other components - amzn.to/40BUpma this is a great mobo and will be much better at around £35 more.
I’m not entirely sure how to use the Wi-Fi on this. I don’t have an Ethernet cable so I can’t use that then download drivers. I tried using a usb stick but I don’t really know what I am doing. There also isn’t many tutorials out there. I would appreciate you help.
aww man thats not good - yeah best off connecting at a friends house just so you can download the wifi controller - it will do it automatically when connected via ethernet cable
All depends on what your wanting it to do mate. All tech ages and games today and not going to be the same in 5 years. But if your happy with the performance then that's fine. Thus should be a nice little system tho mate 👍
Why did you choose 'MSI B550M Pro-VHD WiFi' over 'AsRock b550 pg riptide'. The 'AsRock b550 pg riptide' has more good features compared to MSI one except WiFi!
Hello bro Im building a pc with this mobo and ryzen 7 5700x and I'll be pairing 6750xt or something a bit higher eith it later on so is it a good mobo?
OK great run through! I got this motherboard for my first build. I want to put a second nvme ssd for the operating system alone. I've got one already for all other files which is gen.4 so my other one will have to be gen 3? Will this throttle performance?
U should.always have your operating drive as the fastest tbh and it tends to be a standalone drive so it stays uncluttered. Gen 3 is great as 5 times faster than ssd mate so should have no issues at all.
@Tech Check so my gen 4 is 1tb 5150 mbs( I'm assuming it's actually transfers not bytes) . What would be an acceptable rate for the operating? 1tb is overkill for just the os I'd of thought.
Depends on which model u get mate - 5000 ready will mean NO bios update if its 3000 ready u will NEED a bios update. Hope that helps and thanks for watching

It does have pbo mate but not sure on pbo2 though 🤔
@@TechCheckUK Alright, thanks a lot!

Yeah good around board and will go nice with the 5600g. Wait for some good deals on gpu and u will be winning 😉
Did it come 5000 ready out of the box for you? And has the 5600g been working well with this board?
@mitchellsteiber510 I dunno if he will reply but I can tell you 5600g works great and depending if u have a 5000 ready or not will depend if it works straight out the box. Hope that helps
@@Steelers2121 It did yes. And yes, it works great. No issues since I build it 3 months ago
Nice one mate 👍
even b450's have their place in the gaming market honestly
people like me don't replace their parts until something is broken so as it stands most things that are gen 3 and above are still pretty relevant
100% agree and if it still does what u want then no need to update mate - even the 4090 doesn't saturate pcie gen 3 😁 regards
>12 gigs of vram is the minimum for 1440p gaming
>Old, crappy parts are relevant
Crazy, delusional even
@@Grayest_Fox I play 1080p at high frame rates, just a preference.
My use case (Tarkov), bascally requires every component to work overtime and them some more lmao

U shouldn't have any issues and sounds like a great build and let me know all goes well - good luck 👍
Planning to get this for my first build, with a Ryzen 7 5700g (GPUs currently too expensive), since it's also for work (software dev stuff), will hopefully get a rx 6800 xt when the prices drop.
Yes mate 5700g best APU atm and will work perfectly fine - even better when you install a gpu - all the best 👍
I've got this motherboard, and thanks to your help you've reassured me that this mobo has PCIE GEN 4 (Im getting a RTX 4060 TI 8GB).
No worries mate and good luck on the build 👍
Have this since 2020 - initially with an R5 3600 + RTX 2060 - now with R7 5700x + RTX 4070 - so far no complaints... Although I'm not a fan of MSI software... But I was able to avoid it by running OpenRGB for my RAM

@maximusg88 nice mate thanks for positive words 👍

So for Ryzen 5 5600 i need to update the bios right?
Depending on which bios it comes with but yes you might have to- ita always beat to update anyway just to get all the updates

My WiFi worked straight out of the box but again always update them to get latest updates. do you think this vrm/board/chipset is strong enough for a 5700x3d primarily as a gaming/budget gaming pc that will last for a little while ideally until am5+.
@@TechCheckUK I was planning to build a new m-itx system with an RDNA 3 APU. Oh well, maybe in the coming years it will be standard
@William Laude rx6600 will be best its all down to what resolution and settings your playing at and monitor refresh rate mate

I'd be happy to build it for you mate 👍
Well said and pleased your happy 😊 great pickup on the parts mentioned too 👏

Hi mate yeah it was originally released in July 2020 so still a great board 👍
Hi, I want to build my first PC for play at 1080p
Can give me any advice in order to know if I'm choosing the best components?
Cpu: Ryzen 5 5600
Motherboard: MSI B550-A pro
Ram: Corsair or silicon 2x8 3200 Mhz
Ssd: I'm looking for one that have cache memory but not too expensive
Psu: Thermaltake 600w 80+ bronce
GPU: this one have me crazy, cause I'm thinking in the Rx6600 but at the same time the 6650xt/7600 looks like a good option too, what do you think?
Lots of things to say here mate.
1st off dependent on price go with 5600x over the 5600 if not much difference. I would always also go with 3600mhz ram not 3200mhz due to Speed and the infinity fabric and 5000 series loves faster ram try get c16 too. Psu can't be underestimated personally unless really budget build I always opt for a gold rated modular and think about upgrades as psus can last 10 years. At 1080p 6600 is a great gpu and all them mentioned will be brill I would look for best deal 😀 good luck 👍
Awesome video, ty mate
Appreciate it mate 👌
Awesome video really helpful. Was able to get this in a case/mobo/psu combo for a great deal now just not sure if needs BIOS update 😅
Hi mate thanks 4 watching - no you don't need a bios update BUT I always personally do to get all the latest features and benefits
Will using a PWM fan cable splitter allow me to individually control 6 case fans if they are plugged into 3 case fan hubs on the motherboard? (3 front fans together, 2 top fans together, and 1 pre-existing case exhaust in one)
Yes there are 3 + pwm fan headers so you will be fine
Is there any harm in updating the bios using flashback without first trying to boot and seeing if it is updated enough already? Also is this still better value then the slightly more recent b550 m vc wifi board with a updated wifi card
No harm at all unless you not confident in doing it correctly as u could brick your mobo if not done correctly. Totally up 2 you around the mobo choice mate I think this is a great choice and great cost 👍
Just ordered the same mobo today. Got it around ~$120 (INR ₹9755). I was confused between this one and MSI B550M Mortar Max Wifi. But, stuck to this one as the later was actually bit more pricey and was more around the $190 (~₹15500)
My question is will it work perfectly with 5800X3D? Because it kinda like a temporary spare mobo as I literally fried my previous Asus X570. I didn't want to spend much more on an expensive mobo, as I'm planning for a completely new PC upgrade with AM5, probably later this year. So, there's no point in spending too much for now.
My primary use case would be Gaming at 1080p. And I have a pretty well ventilated case with plenty airflow.
Also, any better suggestions you would like to give for a budget of around US$120-$150? Wifi and Front USB C is a must, in my case tho
Hi mate totally get it 👍 yes it will work no problems I actually ran a 5950x for weeks with no issue

Yeah I would only get a 3rd gen m.2 for 2nd slot though - fine to use but also get one without tge heatsink.
Thanks will do just that
No worries 👍

I would go msi as have better warranty and bios is better mate. This is my opinion only
I'm looking at the VC version of this board, I think the only difference is if the Wifi is AMD or Intel based.

No problem
I bought this mobo last month and I’m going to build it in a few days, so I don’t need no bios update for my 5600x that I’m going to use?
U shouldn't need a bios update NO but will depend on what bios was pre loaded. Lots of people telling me they purchased in last 3 months and worked fine just like mine did 👍
Do you think this would pair well with a ryzen 5800x3d and RTX 4070? Trying to figure out what I should spend on a mobo for the parts i'm buying.
Personally It would work yes but that cpu deserves something a little nicer tbh
@Tech Check any recommendations? I was also looking at this MSI mag b550 tomahawk
@DpgBrinco yeah another decent one have u seen the Asus b550f?
hey man! im getting a 6800 xt with ryzen 7 5800x will that work good with this motherboard and will i need a bios update or not?
Nice mate 👌 all depends on installed bios tbh mate mine came with a bios that supported 5000 straight out of the box 📦 but some mat need a bios flash depending on purchase date and where from. Hope that helps
@@TechCheckUK alr mate thank you!
@StephanPro-td2cd no worries pal
Yo 😎!
What's the most powerful Ryzen CPU than can run on this Mobo? Is it the Ryzen 9590X? And is it relatively easy to make them 'work' together?
Thanks
Yeah you are correct 5950x and yeah if it's bios is updates it's just drop it in and play mate 👍
Which one should i buy? Its like the same price here in Brazil.
B550M AORUS ELITE
OR
MSI B550 PRO-VDH WIFI
personally the VDH imo mate - you get everything on the MSI board and bluetooth and wifi too - only thing is one less RGB header
What would you recommend? Gigabyte B550M Ds3h AC (rev1.7) or this one?
Gigabyte B550M Ds3h AC (rev1.7) this is cheaper and offers everything but also a little newer mate
Is there any mobo that can compete with this in the same price point?
There is a Gigabyte version and another msi one but they don't have WiFi and Bluetooth mate all depends on needs tbh. Thanks 4 watching
not an exact expert here but even if it has onboard wifi can i still plug in my wifi card?
Yes mate you can no problem
Planning to get a 5700x and will overclock it slightly. Will the board be okay or should i invest in better?
It will be fine mate its amazing for up to a 5700x
I’m not entirely sure how to use the Wi-Fi on this. I don’t have an Ethernet cable so I can’t use that then download drivers. I tried using a usb stick but I don’t really know what I am doing. There also isn’t many tutorials out there. I would appreciate you help.
aww man thats not good - yeah best off connecting at a friends house just so you can download the wifi controller - it will do it automatically when connected via ethernet cable
do you think this board with a r7 5700x plus a 3060ti with 16 gbs of ram at first but will have 32gbs of ram will last me 5 plus years ?
All depends on what your wanting it to do mate. All tech ages and games today and not going to be the same in 5 years. But if your happy with the performance then that's fine. Thus should be a nice little system tho mate 👍
Why did you choose 'MSI B550M Pro-VHD WiFi' over 'AsRock b550 pg riptide'. The 'AsRock b550 pg riptide' has more good features compared to MSI one except WiFi!
I chose it for that exact reason it needed to have Bluetooth and WiFi- I agree the asrock is also a great choice
Hello bro Im building a pc with this mobo and ryzen 7 5700x and I'll be pairing 6750xt or something a bit higher eith it later on so is it a good mobo?
Yeah will beoerfect with these parts m8
@@TechCheckUK ty bro
@@techh9171 no problem 😊
Would this be good for the ryzen 7 5800x3d considering it has the required bios update for the cpu?
Yeah it would work fine mate and a good budget orientated board 👍
Hi, may I ask if it is compatible with a ryzen 5600 or 5600x cpu?
Yes mate perfect combo 👌
Would this board work with a 3080 and a ryzen 7 5800x (3.8 ghz) If so, could i overclock the cpu to 4.7 ghz.
Yes it would work as long as you get a 5000 series ready board if not u will have to do a bios update mate 👍
What is better ? This motherboard or ASROCK B550 PG RIPTIDE motherboard ?
Both great for the price and will be personal choice on bios and software and for me I prefer MSI but maybe different for you mate. Good luck 👍
Yeah 500gb is optimal for OS mate and anything 5000 plus is great 👍
Plz i have a question
Is the ryzen 5 5600g compatible with this motherboard without a bios upgrade
Depends on which model u get mate - 5000 ready will mean NO bios update if its 3000 ready u will NEED a bios update. Hope that helps and thanks for watching
What CPU would you recommend for this?
Thanks!
5600x I think is the best combo mate 👌
@@TechCheckUK thank you!
No problem mate 👍
Will this mother board is perfect for amd ryzen 5600g moreover if i will use gen4 ssd will it work with the processor?
Yes mate be perfect with 5600g no issues and Gen 4 nvme on top slot will be great 👍
Would you say this Mobo would be a good combo with a r7 5700x and rx 6750xt?
Absolutely great choice mate 👍
Asus tuff b450m pro ii or this board??
I would take this B550 over the b450 anyday mate
Considering picking up this specific mobo and a 5700x, currently have the b450m pro4 from asrock. Dont know how well that would handle the 5700x even with it having the same tpd as my 2600 hm.
Worked perfect with 5600x and was solid mate buy it is more of a budget option
@@TechCheckUK I'm in a country where the national average salary is around 900$ and the mobo here is about 115$ and the 5700x is about 215 or so.
So yeah I'm looking into just getting the CPU haha
I get it mate we all have individual budgets all I can say is its a great choice and can't really go wrong. Thanks and best of luck hope to see u in comments on future vids so get subscribed 👍
