God job I have a question 🙋♂️ Can I Connect a HDMi Cable from PTZ to my Switch and connect at the same time Ethernet cable to PTZ control in OBS? OBS has a plugin for PTZ controller but I don’t want to stream from OBS I want to stream from the Switch and Controller from OBS
I recently ran both HDMI and SDI a few days ago at one of the churches I play keyboard for on their new PTZ Optics camera and it looked the same as well so I went with the SDI since we already purchased the Black Magic SDI to HDMI converter for the Atem and the cord looks cleaner and more secure to the camera.
Can you hdmi to sdi adapter? E.g connect hdmi cable to camera and other end to connect to black Atem to sdi port. Is any issues if you have mixed of hdmi and sdi ports?
You omitted what's often the most important benefit of SDI: reliable video signal transmission. SDI connections work as soon as you plug them in, and have no effect on ancillary SDI connections. HDMI connections are repeatedly renegotiated by firmware you often cannot configure for your needs, and may be abruptly interrupted by ancillary HDMI connections. Equipment that features multiple HDMI ports often configures them as a network of HDMI connections that will interact with the HDMI networks configured by any other equipment they are connected to. This is why plugging or unplugging an HDMI cable can disrupt the signal transmitted by an ancillary HDMI cable.
Hoping to find answer to "Best Port," but you answered "Longest Cable". Some of the new 4K cameras put a less-compressed (4:2:2) signal over HDMI while other ports (including HX) get only 4:2:0.
Very well presented. Thank you. I have a question. For audio to livestream, do you take the sound from the main mix or do you have a separate mix for the livestream?
Separate mix is always better. On a digital board you can setup a different mix. On an analog board, you can use an aux or monitor out. You just wont have control over mid/high/lows but you will be able to mix a different sound for the stream.
Cool RUclips channel. Look into PoE PTZ technology. Only one cable needed, Cat6 can both power your PTZ camera and send a video signal at the same time.
My church has purchased a model of one of these cameras with the standard outputs that you've shown. What we are having a problem that really doesn't make sense to us, and that is that the direct SDI signal does not transfer directly from the camera to our equipment. One of those pieces of equipment is a black magic 4K studio with SDI camera inputs. And connecting the cable directly from the camera to the blackmagic 4K studio will not produce a video signal to the studio. We also have analog camera inputs which we have three Panasonic cameras connected through SDI but the remote control camera will not display a signal in that system either. If you have any idea on what the problem may be I would really really appreciate your input. We've had this camera for just about a month now and have had no problem with the HDMI signal so we know the camera is working but the SDI has not been accessible to our equipment. Any help with the appreciated thank you
I love your videos. I have all the hardware, but would like to see a wiring diagram involving the control board, PTZ camera, computer, Audio input from microphone system. Anyway you can post this somewhere?
Around 7:27, you say that both the HDMI and SDI cables can carry the same quality of video signal. Well, you've got a 4K camera there. That camera has 3G-SDI and HDMI 2.0. So, for the SDI output, the camera is down-scaling to a maximum resolution of 1080P, if I understand the marketing materials for that PTZ camera. However, over HDMI, you'd be able to obtain a 4K video signal. So, not quite the apples for apples.
Question so the POE can’t be used as a video output option via Ethernet? And POE is basically for setup or control of PTZ camera no video monitoring? Thanks
Hello my friend Good evening One favor, can I set up a transmission system with 2 PTZ NDI cameras with a controller and be able to transmit from another location, that is, have the equipment in the church but be able to control the system remotely from my office? I appreciate your collaboration what equipment would I need
You can do this a couple different ways. Is your office on the same network as the cameras/controller or would you be routing over the internet? Either way NDI will be your tool of choice on this, which routes full resolution video over standard data network. Check out NDI Bridge: www.ndi.tv/tools/bridge/
Thank you so much for your helpful information. I am quite the novice with A/V equipment, but I'm learning a lot so we can have a Zoom option at church. Is there a SDI to USB C converter? Or SDI to USB 3 converter? I'm also looking for a PTZ camera. Can you recommend any? We have a very small budget, so even one that's maybe an older model would be fine. Thank you for your help.
For the PTZ, I did a video recently on the best < $1000 camera I've found (ruclips.net/video/3w2GL-z5Qfo/видео.html) this one: amzn.to/3OMYqhi. I would take a look at that. For the SDI to USB I would take a look at this: amzn.to/3Q5q0aG That should get you up and running with Zoom on your computer.
Any limitations for using only PoE? We are replacing an older camera and we only have Ethernet available (no power) at the camera location. I understand that there are cable length limitations for the signal quality, but are there any functional limitations running the camera just from the Ethernet cable? Thanks!

If you not using a stream service to stream your church services, what do I need for audio as I have a NDI Fomako camera going through company Fomako.

Let us know if you need one. We put one together for our recent install.

You are correct, I misspoke. The SDI will max out at 1080 and you'll need to use the HDMI if you want 4k.
what a old HDMI story. There are HDMI fiber cables for long distances, we use them for a couple of years and they work great.

Yes it can. This guy dismisses the Ethernet port (AV over IP.)
What are the pros and cons of USB ports and why do some people only have USB .
USB only if you want to use as a 'webcam' where you dont need a capture card and you have a short run since USB cant go over too long distances.
This channel is fantastic. Another great video. Very informative. Thank you for your work.

More discounts for older models

Make sure your switch or POE injector is POE+ and you should be fine. Better if it’s already CAT 5e or 6/7 cable and less than 300 feet.
@@Foundery Thank you. I just watched your earlier video too....most helpful and very much appreciated.
About 120m cat6, may still work over longer distances but the connection will start going by then too
The video is very detailed, but this camera is very similar to adkido ptz camera,
Does a SDI to HDMI converter work for OBS??
You will need some way to capture the HDMI or SDI into the computer running OBS. I've had great luck with Magwell products: amzn.to/3U9vunG
We have ordered
very useful!
