Thanks, Monte, I like the way you unpack wherever there's a danger of running into issues, that's extremely helpful! Looking forward to some more videos...
Great videos! BTW - Just so you know - You need to configure Internet Protocol 4, not 6. As your laptop and most of the majority of users will be using P 4. I doubt any PTZ cameras out there support Internet Protocol 6. Hope this helps.
Monte! Great video. I have a camera the did work but can’t see it on the network now. Camera has power but not recognized on my joystick! All on the same switch but possibly the static IP changed itself?!
You’ll have to add your computer to the ip scheme of the camera to connect to it and change its ip address to the right ip scheme or reset the camera to use DCHP
You did a great job. Really appriciate for this video. Also have one question do we really need joystic controller for the cameras ? Can we control the through software or app ?
Hi Monte, Great channel, its really been helping me out alot with my camera network but am having a few issues pulling up my network cameras in OBS as I see you have in this video without a Atem Mini switcher. Also am considering getting an Atem Mini Pro, I see you connected yours in this video without connecting any HDMI cables, will that setup allow me to operate my cameras on the network? Hoping you can help me.
This video was solely focused on networking the cameras. My setup when I use the cameras in a livestreaming environment, I use my ATEM Mini Extreme pro all the time. You'll see it a lot on the more recent videos on the channel.
I’m new to all of this. Trying to get my church set up so I’m learning as much as I can, so I hope my question is not silly. But do I also need to add a stream switcher to the poe switch and then add the ptz cameras to the video switcher? Or do the ptz cameras and the video switcher go on the poe switch
You don't need a POE switch, but it is a benefit if you want to place all your cameras on the network and/or power them without using a DC power supply. In order for your production team to switch between different cameras, you would need a video switcher.
Seriously! Woooow. So if I have a multiple PoE to connect my PTZ CAMERAS, no need to connect them in an OUTLET with their own power cables? That's awesome. What about the ATEM MINI, does it neet to connect to an outlet or just to the PoE?
This video was so helpful. I an curious, is there a way to do this without hooking up to a router? We are a setup and tear down church who does not have access to the router at our location 😢
Option 1 - Daisy chain your cameras with RS232 cables and eliminate networking all together - Watch this video - ruclips.net/video/ijO2rBX2rtg/видео.html Option 2- You can use a portal router and use local wifi or cell phone wifi with this type of router .. amzn.to/3TvrjV0 - I'm still working on trying to get a video done on how to use this
Great video ... how would you add an atim mini pro in this setup? Via HDMI or via ethernet? Can you still switch cameras via ATIM when they are connected via network only?
The ATEM Mini is a video switcher device. It allows you to connect cameras to it via HDMI - To switch cameras, you just select the camera number associated with the camera connected to that specific HDMI port. Follow me on Amazon for regular live demos and explanations - Amazon.com/live/monteweaver

Hi, thank you for your video. Is there a way to bring the PoE power and data wireless to the PTZ cameras? I mean a wifi ethernet that I can plug into the camera in its ethernet port and that send and receive the ethernet signal with PoE wireless from the other side of the room where there is the other sender of the PoE I connect into the switch. Without using a 30-50 metres of ethernet cable. Is there a way to do that? Thank you
I've been streaming Hybrid Zoom meetings for about a year using a single SMTAV camera and cheap controller, and I've just obtained 3 PTZOptics 30x NDI cameras and the Superjoy controller. I now manage multiple video sources within OBS Studio, or by using NDI Studio Monitor, so what advantage would having an ATEM mini be? Is that really necessary ? ...and - I don't understand Matrix Mode on the Superjoy. Could you please explain that to us? Thank you, Monte !!!!!
Hey bro, can you please teach me how to set up a wireless and studio to cover some events in my state of Arizona? I will pay you for that if you can teach me real quick thanks.

Crucial question, I'm new to this. Can all this configuration be done offline? That is, I don't need to be connected to an internet network and only do it within a local network using nothing more than the POE switch? I want to do this configuration in rural areas where there is no internet connection, either wifi or Ethernet network, but I am interested in using the POE protocol for its practicality. Is that possible? The video would only be recorded locally using a capture device such as OBS. Another question, can I use one controller and use different PTZ cameras of different brands or do I need to have the cameras of the same brand as the controller? Thank you very much, I hope you can help me.
@@MonteWeaverofficialA video on that topic would be great since there is a lot of confusion about it because people believe that the internet connection is needed. THANKS
The purpose of the ATEM is to receive a video signal from your camera via HDMI. So I’m not sure what you are specifically asking as the ATEM has nothing to do with sending a video signal via your network.
@@MonteWeaverofficial Thanks for replying. If I have a PTZ camera that is PoE enabled, I can use a PoE swtich to power that camera. I cam also use a PTZ controller to send video to that camera. Especially if they are on the same switcher. I can also connect my ATEM mini to the same switcher where that can talk with the network. I watched another video by @AjaytheCEO partially (after this one) where I believe it's possible. In the ATEM mini camera software, you should be able to set each camera slot the digital camera feed as it's being communicated in the network. That's where I am not sure. My ideal setup as I understand it so far is I can just use a network cable to power, control and get the videos from each camera that is several feet away without having to run an HDMI or HDMI/Ethernet converter option to get the video as well.
@@MonteWeaverofficialdid you ever do a video on this? Any recommendations for PTZs with both PoE and NDI options? And would that mean I only need one network cable to that camera?
@@JasonAlexis I have NDI setups as an idea for a video to record, not sure when my schedule will allow for it. yes, you would only need 1 network cable .. no sdi, hdmi, usb connections necessary. What about latency? Are you running video over the IP network rather than SDI or HDMI? If so if there any latency and what do you do to minimize the delay time?
Depends on the situation I’m in. For long term setups I prefer to network but most clients want HDMI. (Cost) - latency is very minimal, not even a concern.
Can i do the some thing but without internet connection? Can cameras take an ip address without internet connection? I want me setup to be just this controller and two cameras all connected with PoE Switch.
You can use a DHCP server. Home routers have that built in. The router doesn’t need to be connected to the internet to be able to hand out IP addresses. You can also configure the DHCP reservation for the cameras and controller to always get the same IP address every time..
I have a PTZ optics camera and can't find the ip address. If I unplug the ethernet cable and plug it back in will I be able to see the ip address on the monitor? I use Vmix for live stream and just purchased a new computer and can't seem to find the ip address...? Thanks for any advice you migh thave.
All PTZ cameras are different and I don't know which camera you have. I would 1st go to the manufacturer website or reference your user manual and check for the ip address. Another way for some cameras is to plug in your camera into a monitor source and reboot the camera and some show the ip address of the camera. A 3rd way to to do a hard-reset, (again you will need to reference your manual to see how to do this) to change the ip address back to the default ip address of the camera.
What if I'm setting this up for a conference at a venue with no access to hardwired network. Can I still use a POE Switch to connect all my devices together via ethernet and still have the laptop use wifi to stream over zoom?
If you're not bringing in internet via internet into the switch, the POE switch will not be able to provide power to the devices, the switch would only work as a traditional switch for networking.
@@MonteWeaverofficial What would you recommend for this setup? I'm trying to get a 2 PTZ camera setup that is mobile for company conferences at venues with no network onsite. I'll only rely on my laptop to stream over Zoom. I'll be roughly 50 feet away from the cameras.
@TheCompanyMediaGroup - I typically just try to make sure my live streaming computer is hard wired but I personally have no problem with WiFi. For my cameras I prefer to hard wire my cameras to my switcher. Quicker than setting up a network if I’m flying solo on a project for clients.
