It's -2 degrees C, so that is really cold, and at 120km/h+ it's like driving at -12 (even colder), when the battery is not preheated you use even more energy to heat up the battery pack. The battery pack will give you only 40% of the range at that outside temp. Perform this test at spring time at 10+ degrees and you will get much better results. Then perform the same test at 20+ and get even better results. You can't use an EV in wintertime at 200km/h as you would do with an ICE car unless you want to stop and charge many times. Going 120km/h is reducing your range significantly at that low temperature. I recommend doing 120-170km/h at all times on the autobahn and using pre-heating before recharging which the car will do automatically if you are using navigation.
Well maybe you do not have time or a garage for preconditioning, anyway until filming the video, I also drove in the city and low speed on the Autobahn, so I guess the battery and motor were warm enough.
Not really. Apart from cars that do the noise on purpose, the Y is comparatively loud at 200 (wind, tyres, suspension). A vanilla Tiguan Diesel is two decibel quieter at that speed - let alone luxury cars.
Well maybe don't drive in the absolute worst possible condition for an EV and start with 30% battery. Its like having a 1/3 tank of gas and mashing the gas on a gas guslar. Speed and cold are EV's enemy. Combined is not going to be good as you can see.
Well that is exactly what I wanted to see and what I was curious about, but before I filmed the video, I lost about 10% of the battery driving a constant low speed after 28km which is pretty bad. Taking that in consideration, you would get a range of about 280-300km if you drive almost without heating in those temperatures, which is a lot less than the 531 advertised. And you really can t compare it to a any gas car, even if the temperatures are low, the ranges are not so heavily impacted by heating or driving style. (Of course it depends on the car you drive)
So what do you mean, we should not drive in Germany in the winter? We want a car that can take us from a to b, also in the winter and also while driving fast, otherwise it is still an expensive gadget, not a car that can become my daily driver (in my opinion). i am happy people finally show realistic driving videos that show what actually happens when it is winter and/or when you drive fast (something most people will experience sooner or later)

I love the minimalism ♥️
Thanks!
Thank YOU!
When you don't know what is precondition :)

Uh.. What is that weird noise at 8:14 & also at some other points in this video?
That was me expressing my opinion about the car 🥲😂. Just joking, but the fart feature is really funny
@@youonlyneedacar oh oh I get it now! It's one of the many sounds the Tesla makes. 🧐 👍
I personally don't understand the attraction of Teslas. Their interiors are so souless and they have absolutely no character at all.
then buy VW lol
I think they build very minimalistic cars, you either like it or don t. I am somewhere in the middle, I like them but wouldn t buy one myself.
@@youonlyneedacar yeah and a lot of other big manufacturers are now welding an iPad onto the dash as well and thinking it looks awesome :)
i can't get used watching a car that has no display and it looks like a hobby guy installed his tablet in the car.
They build them that way to maximize their profits. Less money spent on the interior = more money for shareholders.
how tall are you
why ur hands so huge
I am 180cm (6 feet) tall. I don t know, are my hands really huge?😂
@@youonlyneedacar 5'11, yes they are
so quiet :)

Stop trying to excuse Teslas incapability to create a good car. Teslas arent good driver cars. Go buy a Taycan.
