What interesting about this video is for $2000 the amount of power you get versus a internal combustion engine, trying to mod car to get another hundred horsepower would cost close to 5 to 10,000 depending on which way you go a turbo kit with the installation and everything else you need might get you another hundred horsepower but it will definitely cost you another five to $10,000

If you can demo the upgrade... suddenly you can come up with $2000 no problem. An additional half a second less to 60 doesn't sound like much but if you feel it, WOAH!!! For 100 HP, $2000 is pretty cheap, if you've ever modded gas cars. I got a 3 dual motor and OMG, it pulls HARD even if I'm already going 75 mph. If people don't want to let you over or something, of for whatever reason they're being a d ck, you can leave them in the dust SOOO hard! Hahaha! The first time that happened, I was snickering so hard I was crying! I didn't just leave him in the dust, I was frikin GONE and i saw his front end lift up and he had a big cloud of black smoke behind him, he was absolutely flooring it, and he fell back like a kleenex that was dropped out the window, it was not a fair fight AT ALL, hahaha! ...but after a while, everyone will have an EV and it won't mean anything anymore.

Hello Gjeebs. I have one question and one suggestion for you :-). Question: If I got it right, you tested power of the car only on the interval 0-60mph and after bosst testing machine measured over 460hp. Since Tesla Y LR has 514hp without boost, it looks to me that if you are going to higher speed 120-150mph you could reach more power? Of course, that tester has its limits I assume... So, question is: those 360+ or 460+ hp are connected with speed 0-60mph, right? And my suggestion is to make test of maximum power of TMYLR. Or, do you know, how much power does the car have? It could be 514+100? Or I red somewhere number sth. over 50hp added by boost? Do you know the answer? Thank you very much.

Copied from my other reply: The dyno needs engine RPM to calculate torque since a dyno is basically just a big electric generator that's measuring the kilowatt output and converting to HP. With engine RPM you can calculate torque. You could calculate a rough torque if you knew the gear ratio, road speed, and tire diameter.
Some dynos use a brake and force sensor and only calculate torque, then with RPM you can calculate HP.

If a gas car didn’t already have a turbo or a supercharger from factory, your looking at having to go full bolt on & e85 in order to get 100+ hp on a v8, there is very few v6 you could do it with too. But to be FBO and e85, you would need a tune so anywhere from like 4k on the very low end to like 7k lol (parts, labor, tune)

Whoever told you they can’t measure torque is just wrong. You can’t measure horsepower. You measure torque at an rpm and that is horsepower. Yes, that is torque at the wheels so it is much higher than torque at the motor. However, you just divide the wheel torque by 9.0363:1 and that is the “motor wheel torque”.

I’m contemplating on getting a Y LR with 20” Induction Wheels vs Performance 21” Uberturbine Wheels. I don’t get it because currently the price difference is $2k and the Range Estimate which I know isn’t actual but the LR gets 318 miles vs Performance 303 miles. So why get the LR with 20” Induction Wheels and add boost for $2k when you can currently just pay $2k more for Performance? Also the LR do you really only get about 15 more miles vs Performance?

If I had that extra power and used it very often I'd be beggaring myself replacing the tires. So, I've decided to learn to drive more sedately. Autopilot helps with that. It can actually make it fun to just hang in the slower lanes for short trips.
