Hey friends! Hope you get to make this super-easy and delicious corn casserole. The eggs should get mixed in after the cheese goes in and the pot is taken off heat. Just realized that part got left out of the video! 😅 Happy baking!
Oh it's okay John
Here who wants John should make something like unicorn or Disney .As in other places it's not in elaborated way and I think John can teach us best to make few kinds of theme cakes as he taught us before in Easter and Christmas
@@ourbizzarelife2620 John is a brilliant teacher. He's taught me to bake. I'm embarrassed to say that the last cake was eaten in 24 hours by only 4 adults.
Yes please make the caramelized onion mac n cheese
@@ginathomas7813 I know this fact very well.Well there is nothing embarrassing I guess ,it seems that the cake was made very well
Yessss to the caramelised onion mac & cheese! Onions need seriously more love, they are so underrated although they are so full of flavour!
Xenia Calabrese Hmmm... onion casserole
How are they underrated? They're used in tons of dishes.
John: I'm following the recipe today.
Also John: I'm using three cloves of garlic instead of two. 🤣🤣🤣
I feel that garlic amounts in any recipe are a suggestion 🤣
@@PreppyKitchen BTW, I've heard of two corn kernel removing hacks:
1. Use a Bundt pan or two bowls. Reference: ruclips.net/video/L25bq6x42sc/видео.html ruclips.net/video/-JhzNvrYSTE/видео.html&t
2. Use a fork. Reference: ruclips.net/video/FKOzcQoR_KY/видео.html&t
One more thing, no. 2 is a staple dish in diners here in Hong Kong (we call them "cha chaan teng", "茶餐廳" in Cantonese, literally "tea restaurant"). We all love it. Give it a try and maybe make a video of it.
Yet another thing, you should make a mac & cheese video. Who doesn't love mac & cheese?
😂😂😂 He can do whatever he wants, it's his recipe! Lol!!!
Lol
the recipe he linked doesn't actually have any garlic listed. it's pretty frustrating. it literally seems to be a completely different recipe
Caramelized onion mac and cheese definitely sounds like something I need in my life! I'd love to see your recipe
Hello preppy kitchen!! This recipie made my Thanksgiving! I was joining a friends place for thankgiving and I was told "it's alright you don't need to brung anything" but I was adamant I cook something for my friend. "Ok... You are in charge of the corn."
Not to be out done, I decided I was going to find the best corn based dish out there and I stumbled upon your corn casserole!!
It left my kitchen a mess but It was so much fun to make!!
Changes I made:
-Added two diced jalapenos for extra zest.
-didnt have milk so I used 3 cups of half and half.
-9 eggs and a layer of bread crumbs on the top cheese.
Needless to say it was a the fave dish!! Especially when combined with salsa/hot sauce! It had the consistency of keesh.
Thank you so much for this recipe!
The actual ingredients based on what he said in the video rather than the recipe he linked
5 c fresh or frozen corn
2 small onions
3 cloves garlic
6 tbsp butter
1.5 c gruyere cheese
8 eggs
2 tbsp flour
3 1/3 c milk
2 tbsp fresh thyme
2 tsp salt
1 tsp white pepper
Me who has never eaten corn casserole 👁👄👁
Corn everything is pretty delicious!
Me neither.
Never heard of it, but I'm in UK
I also haven't eaten it
Never heard of it. Iam in Egypt
This looks awesome!
OH - and to prevent the sticky garlic, wet the knife before you start mincing - makes a big difference!
Hello John: I wanted to write to tell you thank you so very much for sharing all of those delicious recipes, I have never cook anything from a recipe I am a simple woman and cook very simple until I stumble on one of your videos. Let me tell you ever since that day every changed for me, and the first thing I made was peach cobbler, then I made chicken pot pie and my husband just love it. Also I like that you always have a smile and the way to explain the process is very easy for me to follow. I can not thank you enough for sharing your cooking skills.
Use a tube pan. Stabilize the corn on the tube as you cut corn from cob kernels fall into to pan. Mess is confined. My husband is Greek, so there is never too much garlic in anything. Love your videos and appreciate your receipts. Your carrot cake is family favorite. The orange zest puts it over the top. Good health to you and family.
Cut it in a bunt pan. Love corn casserole. I worked in Louisiana, one of the gals made a corn casserole with onions, red and green bell pepper and rice. It was slamming good. Wish I had her recipe.
Best thing I found in my casserole: casserole

I love John and his recipes!!
I grew up with fried corn made in cast iron. If you want easy cleaning for you Dutch oven,
Let cool
Fill with water
Add a dryer sheet (any brand) and let soak about an hour or more. Use the sheet to rub away any bits.
This also works great for any cheese baked on dishes like lasagna.
Corn casserole is the most Midwest-sounding food I have ever heard of.😂
In my Midwest home we call it corn pudding and probably has more butter and cream than the local dairy can produce in a day.
Er, my in-law from Minnesota had it a staple for the blandest thanksgiving dinner ever. Corn casserole and pillsbury crescent rolls were her contributions 😱🤢. But John’s is better because he’s using onion, garlic and seasoning all things my in-law hates lol.
It was pretty common in New England when I was growing up.
Love this! Thank you!
I love corn casserole! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you John you always come up with the new dish there s why I love watching you thanks

ive already tried it its delicious
Mmmm 😋. Will be again trying this recipe.
Love your videos John! So helpful!
You can use a small bowl turned upside down in a larger bowl, or some people use a bundt pan. Stand the ear of corn on the upturned small bowl, and as you cut it off of the cob, it will fall into the larger bowl, with less mess. Thank you for reminding me about this recipe. My grandmother had one that the whole family loved, but I couldn't remember exactly just what she put in it. She didn't use the cheese as you did, but I was able to remember what it was. I'm going to be making it for dinner tomorrow. Thanks again. I really like your show. I'm new, but will be visiting you quite a bit just to watch you cooking. I like the way you talk about what you are doing. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
That looks good. Must do soon.

The trick is to use a bundt or angelfood pan.
I love corn casserole; we just call it corn pudding. We top it with buttered, tosted bread crumbs. It's a standard at Thanksgiving.
