I tell ya Paula. I've been a single dad of four for 18 years, I found myself with two young ones and new born twins. I didn't know how to cook. You helped me to learn good recipes my kids would eat and they could get In there and help. This Corona virus is terrible but i tell ya, me being home with my kids all day every day is a blessing. I've worked so hard i feel this is the first time I've been able to just be home and cook and take care of my kids. Today was split pea with left over Easter ham and we are making this to go with it. Thank you for everything, especially your great attitude that somehow puts me at ease. God Bless.
God bless you takin care of 4 kids alone. That's a great job to have and a good daddy will do it. I'm hopin you all stay well. Have a great time with those kids. Im hopin they all, know how to cook by now too
Hi
Marlene Jones any parent who will step up to the plate and take their parent responsibility is worth so much! And treating your children right is a lovely thing and a must.
You had me at the second sentance. :)
mookie eastman My Mom had a sweetheart named “Mookie” before she met my Dad. He never got over her, and still writes her to this day. Enjoy cooking with those young’uns!
I make this corn casserole for get-togethers and ALWAYS come home with an empty casserole dish! I get asked for this dish whenever there is an up-coming gathering. It is delicious and so easy to make. I love this recipe.
I have made a similar version for Thanksgiving for years and called it corn corn bread. I use coconut milk for dairy issues. Always a hit.
Lady Craft didn't see what she put in it corn and what else?
@@lisasmith9311 1 can whole kernel corn (drained), 1 can cream-style corn (not drained), 1 box of Jiffy corn muffin mix (8 ounces), 1 cup sour cream, and 1 stick of butter (melted). Once it's baked, top with 1 and a half to two cups of shredded cheddar cheese. Put it back in the oven long enough to melt the cheese.
Lady Craft Thank you
Oh I love that sound! I love this with jalapeño in it gives a heat kick and goes well with the sweet. Keep them coming Paula we live you.
Paula-- Made it Thursday night, and put in the fridge. Took it out on Friday for a dinner, reheated it and topped with cheese. DARN GIRL! is was insanely delicious!
I love how she says "y'all". Hell I'm a Yankee and I find myself saying "y'all" all the time. It just sounds better with that Southern twang.
michelle tinner me too! I feel very weird saying it lol
I picked it up after moving to Md & Virginia from Michigan too. 😁 Now it just seems natural.

Thank you so much for these youtube shows under this quarantine. It has brought so much relief for us here at home to be able to watch and cook along with you and your family. It is like having a next door neighbor drop in for visit. I have watched you programs in the past, and it is so nice to see you again. You are just as happy as ever. Hugs. Elizabeth Hughes in Meridian, MS
My boyfriend’s sister makes this recipe every holiday. It’s my favorite thing that she makes😋😋😋
30 Plus and Counting ok, I’m going to try it. 👍🏾
April C. I hope you like it!! Brown the cheese really golden. Those edge corners are the best.
This corn casserole will be on my Thanksgiving table this year. Can’t wait to try it. Love you Paula! ❤️ Thank you for the recipe!!!
I absolutely love you, talking about stretching, lol, I can get down there but I have to roll up off the floor lol but yoga it is after the corn casserole ❤
We have this for every holiday and every pot luck. My original recipe had melted cheese whiz on top. Next one I’ll make will have shredded cheddar. It makes me want some right now! Yummmm
I would like to see Paula do a coconut shrimp recipe. And bring on a pina colada too. Im missing the beach!!!!!
This looks great! I will try it when I go out to the store next time to get the ingredients I need. I've been trying different recipes.Thank you for doing what you're doing!
Hi Paula, you asked what we were all up to. Well, I still have to work but I have the day off. I actually work in a meat plant. :-) Have a great day.
I've been looking for a good corn casserole and this might be it. I'm busy organizing storage spaces and sewing face masks.
I looked for my favorite cobbler recipe, couldn't find it, so I googled cobbler. My favorite recipe turns out to be yours!
did yall hear teresa?.....smh we hear her loud mouth more than we hear you lolll
We're hearing Teresa a bit too much. We love YOU Paula and come here to hear YOU!
Teresa is so annoying! I love Paula so I guess we have to tolerate Teresa.
That's her friend and Paula doesn't seem to mind.
pretty money who is she ?
I love you, you are the best. I have always loved watching u cook . I just want to give u a big huge. You remind me of my grandma.
OH Paula I have missed you and your cooking so much! I hope you will continue to do this show on RUclips. You are amazing and we enjoy you so much!

Paula I love your southern hospitality! You just welcome everyone right on in to your kitchen 🍽🥄🧂
See all that copper back there? Paula never used it.
I found these cooking in quarantine videos last night and binge-watched them all! (Plus some of your other stuff on YT). Thank you so much for taking the time to put these videos up! God bless!
Theresa... you are a kill joy.
That casserole is infinitely variable. If you want a full meal, add ham chunks. If you want a "Mexican" dish, add a can of green chilis and use Pepper Jack cheese. Want to make a spring version-add green onions and green peas. It just makes so many meals special.
Susie'sSoap&Stuff
I so totally agree!!
What great ideas!! They all sound delicious!!😋
Great ideas!!!!
oh lordy yes!
the green chili's make it especially YUMMY!
I’ve made this corn casserole for years, but have always added an egg. It’s so tasty!
My favorite gal back at it again!❤️🥰 thank you!!
Theresa, please don’t interrupt Paula. It’s not only impolite, but a distraction and annoyance to the viewer.
Step up your game woman and join fully on camera as a full participant, or step down and make your contributions in the edits.
As much as I adore Paula and watching her (have watched for years) I agree with you. Her interrupting is annoying and off putting. Let them try the dishes at the end but during the cooking part, keep quiet. Makes me want to turn it off when she starts over talking Paula.
Thank you for saying this!!
Grand Debacle Oh gosh I was wondering why no one has commented on this. It’s an on going thing and it drives me crazy to the point I have to quit watching some of her videos. Really annoying I would not tolerate this for 5 seconds.
This is the first RUclips video with Paula i have watched and i was thinking the same thing. I didnt want to hear her, I wanted to hear Paula. She needs to get her own channel
I agree. I don't even know who Theresa is... we're here for Paula so "shhhh" girl.
“This corn smells like a poot” I love how normal you are :))

Lol...cracked me up!!!
Thought thats what she said.
And I totally get it!
That is why I love her so much she's just down to earth real LOL LOL

I cannot tell you how much I enjoy the kitchen "intimacy" of these quarantine videos. It's interesting to see how you are coping with these weird times. You make me feel like you are my friend. Thank you so much! Love you!
Diana Heath isn’t that a wonderful thing to be able to do? 😄
Diana Heath I know it feels like she’s aunty Paula!
It be like watching a whale on dry land 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hahahaha 🐳🐳🐳🐳
I add an egg and mix up a cup of shredded cheese right in to the casserole then bake. I like 1/2 sharp cheddar and 1/2 shredded Velveeta. Yummy!
I like to mix it up with a bit of diced onion, ricotta, parmesan (real not powdered) and a bit of cream cheese
Wait- I followed directions to a tee!!! And it was runny. Is that how it’s supposed to be? The taste was great nonetheless. We all liked it but expected something more cornbread like. It was moist and kind of oily
@@crawleyr4919 you may have missed a cup of flour, or Jiffy Mix, or added a bit too much oil and cheese; it should have the consistency of ultra moist cornbread with little embedded chunks of delicious corn kernels, and the cheddar cheese melted and blended to lift the savory flavor of corn. Some clever folks substitute greens, green peas, or other veggies, but corn is the best and sweetest.
utubewatcher806 thank you!
good tip
Jiffy corn muffin mix is the best!!! It’s made in Chelsea, MI where I was born😀 The original Jiffy mix was invented 91 years ago when Mable Holmes wanted a biscuit mix that was “so easy a man could do it” 🤣 She invented it for a friend of her sons who was being raised by a single father and the boys lunch had a buisuit so hard she referred to it as a “white hockey puck”. The idea was to invent an inexpensive mix so that even a single father could make a great biscuit.
Thank you for sharing that!
Well, I learned something new today! Cool story!
Interesting history of Jiffy mix! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Miss Paula, please tell Teresa to stop telling you what to do, thank you for these quick and easy recipes, tried the cracker salad the other day
I don't know if your corn should smell like a little "poot"!? Lol

When I was a kid they were 29 cents a box. The cake mixes, frosting and muffins also. We were poor so we bought them a lot. Late 1980's through 1995 ish
Oh the memories! I remember when those little boxes were 4 for a dollar! I miss those days 🙄
Got my very poor family through days. Loved the frosting
It was 88 cents a box at my local grocery store, but later the same day I was in an Aldis and saw them for 47 cents a box. Such a steal and so delicious!
I used this recipe in my speech class in college. I’ve also added salt, pepper, garlic and diced (small) onion to take a little of the sweetness out.
I like to add bacon bits and chopped jalapeños to my corn casserole, it’s sooooo good!
Have you ever tried crushed pig skins or chicarrones in addition to bacon bits and jalapenos? Unbelievable.

Wow! This recipe really brought back great memories of my early days in the kitchen! I was in college. The year was 2003. And every day after class I’d get home to catch Paulas cooking show. And this was the first recipe I ever tried. I didn’t really do grocery shopping, didn’t cook much, but I surely enjoy watching you cook! I made this and was so proud! It was loved by all at dinner! The other recipe I made next was your Georgia Cracker Salad! That salad bagged me a wonderful man! Married 13 years now! He always talks about the cracker salad that sealed our reltionship😂
I love corn casserole, and corn pudding or just corn lol love hearing your beautiful laugh. God bless 🙏🏽
I was wondering if this corn casserole is the same as corn pudding. I made corn pudding years ago from a friends mothers recipe but for the life of me I cannot remember how I made it. This seems close but I’m not sure. Do you know if it’s the same?
This is the best ever go to dish. I have made it several times for pitch ins and family gatherings. It cones out perfect every time! I got it from Jamie and Bobby’s cookbook when I first made it! Mama was from Pike Kentucky. That was one of her favorite meals. Still 2 this day Cornbread has 2 be in cast iron. Martha White's self rising cormeal has best recipe 4 it on pkg. I prefer mine coarse so I don't add an egg 🇺🇸
When I had a houseful to cook for,I made this often. Our family loves cornbread. Once in awhile I would change it up for southwest themed dinner. I would use mexican corn (cans of corn with onion green and red bell peppers). If I didn't have that I could chop up the veggies fresh and cook and cool them before adding to main dough. I have added jalapenos or green chilis. No matter how its made I love it!
@ Paula Dean..com. I have really sat down. In a long time and finally got to watch ur videos. And here lately I’ve learned very many dishes. I’ve made ur yo not your mommas banana s pudding. And now yet it’s late I can’t wait for morning cus this mommas heading to my local grocery store. To get the ingredients from ur corn bread. And try. To make ur chicken fried I know a lot about cooking but never the quick. And go simple but yet it’s still a good meal. And no one will never know any different.

And. I hope u will continue to do more meals even after quarantine is over.
So. Ty ty ty. And I know my family will ty just as much.

4 years ago i asked my new son in law if he had any childhood dishes he would like me to make for Thanksgiving. He asked for corn casserole. I googled the recipe and went with the Paula Deen version.
Well...that recipe has now zoomed to the top of our family favorites and landed right under my dressing! I have to make two recipes, it goes so fast.
I had always wondered why Jiffy cornbread had such big displays during the holidays! Now i know its because of your corn casserole.
I hear ya, whenever I Google a recipe, if Paula has it posted, I always go with her version, cuz it always tastes the best!!!😋👍
I use Jiffy in my dressing. 🙂
oh man my mama made the best dressing growing up. She made the real deal too using the turkey drippings in the dressing. She chopped up the onions and celery and boiled the eggs to go in it too. The only thing she didnt make herself was the seasoned bread crumbs. She would always make up several pans of it then freeze them. We'd enjoy them throughout the year. They were never the same after they were frozen though. I mean they tasted good but not as good as when they were freshly made.
