The eReaders were and are what I used to wish would be invented. It was the 1970s, well before personal computers, and in my imagination I wanted a device that could hold all my books. When technology finally caught up to my wish, I was thrilled. Makes it so much easier to read. Waiting for someone to finish in the change room at the gym (or clothing store)? Start reading while you wait. Waiting in a line-pull out the kindle/kobo and start reading. They’re great.
I got mine and I am obsessed!!!! I just finished my 3 month trial for KU. I just bought the year subscription for myself which is great cause I don’t like reoccurring payments. So great!! I love your channel! Keep up the good work!
Yes! Love my Kindle! I've had a Kindle since the 2nd Gen and I currently have the 11th Gen. To me, it's the best Kindle they've offered, thus far. I especially love the warm light for night time reading. 🤓 Thanks as always for all the great Kindle-related info - you are my Kindle _go-to_ guy! 😬
I bought my kindle paperwhite in 2021 and I have used it many times. I love this little thing for trips and going on vacation, even on breaks and lunch at work. It is very simple and easy and the battery life is amazing, I do agree though my one complaint is the power button location it is a headache at times. This is my first kindle and I honestly love it and will get another if this one dies on me, plus the price you can always catch them doing deals so all and all a great investment for anyone who loves reading or wants to read so often and save space in their home.
I haven’t heard of that, is there a kids version you like better than adult version? If so can you say why? I’m just curious, as I’m thinking of taking the plunge into getting a kindle this year, and am not sure yet which one to get.
Yes! Like others have said, the kids version is the way to go. It’s usually the same price as the regular Paperwhite, but you also get a case included. It’s currently on sale and might go on a better sale for prime day next week 😁
POWER BUTTON PLACMENT ISSUE. Do you know that thing that Instagram models put on the back of their phone so that can get "like the best selfie for sure"🤳? I think it's called a pop socket?? Well I put it on the back of my kindle and it's perfect!! I highly suggest trying this out.
I have the Paperwhite and the New Basic Kindle. I love them both. I mostly use the Paperwhite at home and the Basic when out and about since it is a little smaller easy to fit into a pocket or most bags.
I never owned a Kindle before, I wanted to get something to ease the strain on my old eyes, the iPhone too small and iPad Pro that blasts your retina, long story short I chose the Scribe to purchase during the last Prime day, in short I love it! As with all love affairs she's a big girl, and No IP rating, she stays at home (for serious in depth reading and analysis). Heretofore, I need a Paperwhite(Signature) maybe? for those times I am reading and need to press on in chapters, so I scour Amazon for a deal on it. Hopefully soon. Any tips on getting one is greatly appreciated
I have the same problem at the moment with the eye strain I know i want to get the paperwhite. But i already have an iphone and ipad pro. I missed the prime day deal cause i couldnt make up my mind if i wanted it or not.
I got the Paperwhite kids version when it was on sale earlier this year. It's been great. Like you, I use the crap out of Libby and it's awesome. I've only charged it 1.5 times in the 4 or 5 months I've had it. I really love it. Like you, though, I can't for the life of me figure out why they put the power button on the bottom... Such a terrible idea. I really wish it was on the top. I recently ran into an issue trying to read while on my exercise bike cause it would just shut of when I put it on the little tablet shelf on the bike. With the case that's not usually an issue but it's still happened more times than I would like. Oh. I found this amazing chrome plugin that helps you figure out if a book is available at your library (or libraries) from another booktuber and it's super helpful. It's called Library Extension and it's saved me a lot of time searching around. Basically whenever you're on a book Amazon, Goodreads, or any other online store it'll pop up and say whether that book is available in physical, digital, or audiobook format at the libraries you've set it up with. www.libraryextension.com I thought you might find it helpful.
I received my first Kindle Paperwhite as a gift back in 2014. Best. Gift. Ever. 🏆 I got a newer version about a year and a half ago since the first had slowed significantly and was glitchy, and it's great! Still a bit "clunky" as you mentioned, but that doesn't bother me since I'm not typing that much on it. Also had Kindle Unlimited from 2014 up until a few months ago and loved it. I'm taking a break from it for a little while and reading books on Libby (which is amazing!) but I know I'll go back to Kindle Unlimited at some point to catch up on new releases from some favorite authors I discovered there. Robert J. Crane and Elise Kova are great! 📖
Great video, thanks. I just bought the Paperwhite and it charged to 99% and not 100%, maybe I unplugged too soon, but it was on 99% for a long time. Yours was the first video I saw for the Paperwhite, so thank you!
Awesome video‼️💯I will definitely take your advice about the kindle paper white. I will probably wait until it goes on sale to get it but so far I am using the kindle app on my iPad since I already have Libby on my iPhone.
Used to LOVE my Kindle Paperwhite, but now that they decided that the free cellular connectivity option (which comes in handy way more often than many people realize) would ONLY be available on the Kindle Oasis (aka one of THE most expensive Kindle models out now), it’s probably a huge wash.
i just bought my first kindle ever which is kindle paperwhite it is great but i am a little concerned about the durability of the the screen after a long period of time will it show wear at the area of the thumb ???
@@dylancanread honestly story wise I like Dragon Ball more than Z now that I'm a adult because the story is awesome to me so glad to see someone else liking it.
Tried the kindle devices and found the iPad Mini is still the better device for reading. the battery life doesn’t seem to be an issue For me. Yes, it cost a lot more but it’s faster, less wonky and the screen is so much better on the eyes and I love the sync on the iPhone , laptop an Apple watch. Whisper sync btw is genius for audible lovers.
You mentioned that you have a Kindle rotation. Can you share more about that? Like how many devices you have, are they different versions of the Kindle, etc.
My reader until recently was the 1st gen Fire, which served me well for ten years. An issue or two cropped up and I got a gen 7 Fire 7" from Woot for very cheap ($25). While the old Fire was an e-reader with tablet functions, the new is merely a mediocre tablet with the Kindle app. It's slower, fussier, glitchier, with poor battery life. If I don't boot it down every night, it eats power. Don't like it that much. Based on your review here, I think a Paperwhite is in my future.
I haven’t used a Fire tablet but have heard similar reviews from others. Prime day is coming up and that’s usually the best time to pick up a kindle! I’ll have a video out tomorrow on all the prime day kindle deals! 😁
The occasional problem I have is jumping multiple pages ahead when I turn a page. It doesn’t always happen, but’s annoying when it does. I like to swipe the screen like a real book. Maybe if I tapped it wouldn’t happen as much. Anyone else have this issue?
