Super underrated artist, albums, songs, arts, the music, the lyric.
I love the song MY SISTER. It shows the multitude of feelings that siblings often have, sometimes hate, sometimes jealousy, sometimes inspiration and mostly love and everything in-between. Self described as existential longing for a sister she never had.
Just Great narrative expressive poetry wrapped into creative and deceptively simple genius music. ♥️♥️✌️✌️
I wanted to see her live in the 90s, then and now what a legend of great music! living legend lady! love her music!
I was lucky enough to have seen her perform thrice back then; Acme Bar and Grill, Tower Records, and Central Park Summer Stage.
This is fantastic. Introverts unite!
for real. i suppose u like counting crows as well, and the cure.

I've always loved Juliana's music and felt a connection to her and her songs. All these years later and I still haven't seen her live. I really enjoyed this. Thanks Juliana and KEXP.
Was lucky to see her when she toured Australia in the early 90's with Belly. Still adore her to this day!
I was lucky to have seen her before all this Covid lockdown in february in her hometown. Did the road trip from Montreal to Boston. So happy i had the chance.
@@kinetickid100 cool..I did the same drive to Brooklyn and saw the last show of the tour
@@sweetnighter I saw when she did a show with her Lemon head friend in Sydney a few years back.
Juliana Hatfield is a legend! I love all her creativity and music she has been doing all these years! Blake Babies are awesome too. 👍🙂
SHE IS A LIAR, TODAY SHW SAID HER TINNITUS IS GONE, WHICH CANT BE TRUE!!! SHE LIES!
Both these women are my spirit sisters. Thank you.
It is so wild to watch this and get to the end where they talk about 2020 plans. sigh.
Juliana is just so good. I will never pass an opportunity to see her live. I think I've been to about 20 of her shows in the past 30 years or so. Lucky me!
Really glad there was a live performance of her from this last tour. She and the band did a great job. Juliana is legend for me.
Wow, man. "Wonder Why" is a freaking great song.
Thanks for doing a show with her
played Weird on repeat this weekend doing chores. I'm ready!
Currently in a JH wormhole today during a snowstorm.......thank you for this!
Juliana …..my favorite introvert !!!
I fell in love with her on the first self titled album "The Juliana Hatfield Three". I haven't followed her career since then and I feel ashamed. My jams back then were Juliana Hatfield Three and The Lemonheads. Way back in the day 🤘🤘🤘❤️❤️❤️
same here . The Lomonheads were amazing too back in the day - loved both
really liking this song. her voice sounds great!
Wonderful
Oh Juliana, forget the covers when your own songs are just as good (better!) 🙂
Doing covers is a tradition. Everyone does them and its an acknowledgement to your fellow artists.
I disovered Juliana through her covers of Dinosaur Jr. First Raisans and more recently Severed Lips.
Kevin Suggs, thank you for not drowning out the bass player.
Love his tone. Very glad to hear the bass nice and clear!
@@ChiliBass Totally agree. I favor fingers over picks but that attack with what seems to be a good amount of compression with I am sure an excellent bass really does the job. On the first bass note on the first song I thought, this will be killer! Of course a good mix/recording helps. Plus love Juliana Hatfield's music anyway :-).
I love Juliana! Greetings from Brazil.
love Juliana Hatfield
This is amazing 🤩 Everything sounds great
Her memoir was a fun read.
Glad she is kicking ass and making music.
Love this host.
i like Juliana's jacket,very cool :)
Great!
my favourite listed musician... so excited :))
Her covers tops
I love hearing you say it's ok to move on.
I love this deeply
So cool 🤘❤️
im excited for this!
Great live vocals, Juliana
looki g forward to her new albums!
True indie lady - I found her in 1992 - Love Her Still X
Weird is probably the best album to listen to during the current lockdown...
Greetings from Brasil thank you
I liked it 👍I hadn't heard her before
awesome, everything songs really great, also like guitar and the solitude stuff, totally get that
this is SO good
Brilliant.
I was a fan of hers since the beginning but i only have about 2 albums and haven't heard much besides that. I'm more into psychedelic jam kinda stuff. I can definitely relate to preferring solitude and feeling drained after being around people. I knew that about her from a song or interview or something. I love joking around and fun people but i am a happy hermit. Most people are boring. It feels like i took the red pill and most others are still stuck and enduring the programming. Especially the young kids.
Anyways, time flies and i'm almost 50 and feel 30 at the most. I could have a midlife crisis but i think reality is just a blink and there is much more to our lives than a lifetime on earth. I have no problem leaving here. Except i am on the verge of finally making decent money and i have adventures planned out.
Juliana is coming to a small local town in PA and i might go. Thx for reminding me of her other music. That was the purpose of my comment :)
so cool !
Damn I didn’t know she still had it like that
Big time fan here! Am also a longtime singer/songwriter. Keep working! BTW: as i much as I also love the original artists, Juliana makes it hard to go back to them once you hear her cover renditions!
never be normal, it's a lie, a total falsehood, you can be a member of society without being controlled. Be yourself, be like Juliana. She rocks!!!
she's just great
Jouliana your so amazing. I absolutely love you girl...
Greetings from São paulo, Brazil!
Brazil!
Coool
This lonely love is all around.....
Love "Lost Ship" the most forever!!!!
another Blake Babies reunion please..
That’s Tanya Donnelly’s husband playing bass. That New England scene is so incestuous in a good way.
It seems so! Crazy! I'm totally new to it cause I'm young (even if I'm from here, from Boston like Juliana exactly), but I'd like to learn more about it.
@@maria.maverick I am old and move out of the Boston area in 2003 for a teaching job in Virginia :-(. At least then, and I am sure now, the Boston music scene is very special and I wish I never left. I am in New York north country now, so inching myself back.
OMG TOTALLY. EXCEPT NEW ENGLAND IS AS HORRIBLE AS NEW YORK AND NEW JERSEY.
cool

The living room
The curly sheepskin rug we called “the furry”
And sometimes I wonder why
The plastic clock, the macrame owl, and the butcher block couch are on my mind
I wonder why my parents chose a brown and orange scheme
And why that seemed okay to me
I wonder why the kitchen was an avocado green
And the upstairs bathroom was peach
The northern lights
We saw them in Vermont one night from the car
But only once, I wonder why
The aliens who landed on the roof, they left me there
And didn’t take me to the sky
I’ve escaped into my childhood memories tonight
I wonder why my corduroys were always light blue
And I never had a TV in my bedroom
Just a flame from an electric candle on my windowsill
And I dreamed of my melodies touching you
I wonder why the marimekko fabric on the wall was ever taken down
I wonder how a transistor radio held up to my ear
Brought me to heaven
And it’s still leading me here
😍
I gotta watch that episode of Adventures of Pete and Pete where she made a cameo as the lunch lady.
This holiday don't forget to check back in on her as the homeless woman/angel episode of My So Called Life featuring her song 'Make It Home'.
She has the right voice to cover Police songs
Does anyone know what guitar Julianna plaing...Please...Thanx
Este amor solitario esta por todas partes..... in my life
Omaha introvert made me come here, cool music........
Play Little Pieces please!
Whatever happened with the God's Foot album? Did that ever get released? Or is it still stuck in the abyss?
nice pedal work!
she looks 25 and 60 at the same time
Her voice is heard as a young woman
Lol😂
@@jayrajgarbyal229 😄😄😄😄😄
I like the artist but too much chat for this station where “the music maters”
Dude, it's a interview, what did you expect? A talk about the artist and the music, this matter.
william blake babies valerie robinson of marion county check it out
Having a custom Fender guitar is a small brain move. Having a custom First Act guitar is Galaxy brain move.
Sliiiiightly opinionated....

Juliana is a kind of mad hatter accomplice of Alice, with a nice voice.
What happened to Sheryl? She's different... I mean, the pronounciation, and her voice is shaking..
Cheryl was very sick and recently battled cancer for the second time around. She took a break from KEXP late 2019 for a surgery to remove a cancerous growth on her tongue and dozens of lymph nodes. That illness has unfortunately damaged some of her speaking ability. Heart goes out to her for surviving this disease and for continued recovery.
Need a combo alone and not
I just watched this for the first time, and right away I noticed that Hatfield gave this interview shortly after the Jan 6 insurrection. I find her lack of idealism disturbing, and a disappointing turn from the more optimistic take in her Peace and Love expressions.
The Police often present a cynical view of politics. For example, "there's no political solution," and "have no faith in constitution" seem to justify a kind of apathy, something we cannot afford in a time when multicultural democracy is backsliding into authoritarianism.
Idealism to counter apathy can be found in many of the contemporaries of the Police. I advise listening to the Special AKA's Free Nelson Mandela, The Style Council's Shout to the Top and Walls Come Tumbling Down, Patti Smith's People Have the Power, and World Leader Pretend by R.E.M.
I would suggest that Hatfield should set aside Werner Herzog and his infatuations with Putin and Trump, and watch Above Us Only Sky, a documentary about John and Yoko and the making of the song Imagine, and perhaps find some inspiration there.
As an artist who is committed to freedom of expression, Hatfield should be wholeheartedly invested in protecting the US Constitution.
Imagine an America without KEXP, with no NPR. Consider a world where the only news is state run propaganda. We have never had to experience that in the free world, but people in China, Russia, and many other places have never known anything else. And now, in Afghanistan, 20 years of free journalism has been silenced by a religious ideology.
It can't happen here? It is already happening here.
Olivia newton John to hard to sing g
OK. Music is really good - but what had happened in her life? A constant tense facial expression. She can't let go.
Same facial expression she's always had playing live.
She's super shy - always has been since we were in school together - on the one hand, and on the other, it's her resting-focused on my fucking song face. Besides that, she's just an introverted angel.
Introvert “ I do think she was to skinny 0 that’s my only compaint
Only devil 👿 knows 😈
I find her really real when she talks, she’s intelligent and shy and I appreciate her vulnerability
Good performance but man, she seems kind of miserable.
Fürchterlich! Nur Gitarrengeschrammel.
