You can get to it with a ratcheting swivel combination wrench. Or a long and bendy 1/4 drive ratchet. I recommend soaking them in fluid film overnight. But there's a good chance you're gonna need to torch some bolts off.
Dude forgot to mention that the studs are prone to snapping off in the head so let them soak for multiple days prior especially on higher mileage trucks
Collector bolts will never be that easy , them back manifold bolts ...yeah no fun mainly if everything is factory. Spray your bolts down heavy with free all and let sit for a day .and put jack stands under ur y pipe to make it easy on u .
for my 2018 silverado 1500 5.3L with no 3rd cats, both resonators gone, and 40 series exhaust and 3' inche tip. It is a lot louder then this. But i am thinking if this could help with HP lag. Before i took off the 3rd cats, i notice the difference and not a fan of it. But i do know my engine is getting rid of the exhaust a lot better.
@@joset3851 I have an 18 Silverado with a carven muffler, was thinking about getting shorty headers, to make it a little louder. So after you do this, you need to get the truck tuned for the more airflow?

If the manufacturer supplied the torque specs they would recommend with their hardware then we would mention the torque specs. But since BBK did not mention the torque specs they would suggest in their instructions, we follow the factory torque specs of 11 lb ft on the first pass and 15 lb ft on the second pass.
@@lowerdesert9577 no, that has nothing to do with that. The y pipe is what contains the cats, not the headers. They make catted y pipes for emission compliance with long tubes and non catted y pipes for long tube headers.....If you have a catted y pipe and pass emissions in retard states you are fine.
@@nvdubs I'm telling you long tubes are not smog legal only shorty headers with the egr port on the passenger side header I'm in CA not sure about other states
This guy makes it look so easy. I know I’d slide in a full 8 hour shift doing this at home.
The power of editing. We put in a good amount of work for this install, it did take about 5-6 hours to complete.
Took me 12 hours to complete
Keep in mind he pro
bably has 12 14 hours in it with camera time lol.... great vid
This guy made it look so easy I did the driver side in 5 hours now I gotta wait for another day to finish it😂😂
So shorty headers will bolt right up to the stock y pipe. Excellent! I need this to give my silverado that little extra on the exhaust note!
I like how it skips over the removing 5 manifold bolts part. The back one is damn near impossible but they sure left that part out.

And the 3 exost bolts are a ass too, his came right off lol

any problems with the manifold leaking or fumes in the cab after installing the headers

What would that cost complete, the shortys the whole way back with a good set of flow masters and labor
How many mile do you put on before tightening up the exhaust bolts, and what do you recommend for a torque?
If it took him 10 minutes should take me about 15 tops. Lol
Looks easy. Those 3 nuts that connect the headers to the exhaust are SO hard to reaxh
Did you use a Jack on the Y pipe or will it keep the connection points aligned?
This may be a silly question, but do you make these for the 4.3L V6 LV3?
How does the y-pipe seal on the driver side? It has a doughnut flang gasket. And the BBK are flat. I really want these for my 2018
Is the fitment the same for 2019 yukon denali 6.2L
Thinking of getting shortys and flow master 40
(living in California)
Looking for a beefy sound.
That should be a good combination right there.
Do these bolt up to factory exhaust? Will they work on 2wd and 4wd?
These fit both.
Bummer not Cali approved 😕, wish they made a 1-7/8" shorty header.
Hooker does

You need custom tune.more air flow need more fuel your air fuel ratio is lean now and mpg drop
I have the same set up on my 17 except I have a carven muffler. I lost lots of back pressure and mpg

@@JRichards788 Correct. I have the progressive TR carven sounds and it sounds perfect with no 3rd cat imo
I bought the same header but it won't line up with the Y pipe
@Magnus Ernesto hey you’re right
Does the seal on the pipe to converter does it go up or down.
The one on the flange ?
Does this need a tune?
No, but it would help alot with overall performance.
But will it pass smog
If you have the stock cats your fine.
In Oklahoma it does 😏
I'm curious if the 5.3 and 6.2 headers have the same exact bolt up alignment to the 6.0. Some sites say they're all the same and others not.
Yes, these fit both the 5.3L and 6.2L. This is from the manufacturer. This is for the 1500. BBK makes headers for the 2500, but not for the 6.0.
Anybody know if these would fit a 19+? And if the install is the same?

Yes, the shorty headers will fit the Silverado model as well.
No diffrence😂
