    Sounds to me like someone has already done the transmission thermostat bypass from the temperatures you mentioned.. You can just flip the thermostat valve and it allows free flow of transmission fluid. That is what I did on my 2014. No need to buy a kit. I also, with draw a gallon of trans fluid every 20k miles and put a new clean gallon back in. Just a little insurance, maybe. I am at 125k on mine.

      I feel like your the only one that has described a issue that Ive had with my Denali since I’ve owned the vehicle, I have a 2016 Yukon Denali xl, got the vehicle with around 125k miles on it and had the transmission replaced with transmission out of a Tahoe with 40,000 miles on it, every since it had been changed at very low speeds, maybe 1st-3rd gear and especially when I first start the vehicle that initial cycle through 1st gear through 2nd gear there is a large clunk( sounds like the driveshaft clunking hard) when it tries to change gears after I drive it for a few miles it eases up but I still have a clunk here and there when driving a low speeds in and out of traffic, feels like my torque converter is holding onto the gears to long and doesn’t want to let go. I’m no professional or certified mechanic by far but if I can take it apart I can usually put it back together lol, this tune that you speak of, could you please help explain a little better or inform me with a little more information so I can try to find someone to do this for me, (possibly do it myself), love the Denali but some of these issues can be very aggravating at times…..initially came here because vehicle shutting off and losing all power at random turns, cleaned both ground points mentioned with no affect, then cleaned the negative cable at battery terminal, so far haven’t ran into the powering off issue

    I own a 2014 with 35k on it, was a former MN DNR Park Service truck I won on auction, so the can and Range were the first I did.
    I’m a little hesitant at over cooling that transmission on mine as I won’t be towing much and with -30-40f winters, too cold is also harmful to the tranny. I plan to just change fluid every 30k or so.

    i bought a device similar to the range BUT i have watched videos where ppl have used that device from day 1 and lifters still fail and other videos that say those devices do not help
    that being said, im no expert, just repeating what i have seen/heard from other videos

      i don't doubt it, every engine is different, some have great luck with it like myself, and i have also seen people having issues, i bought a v8 and it definitely works on keeping it in that mode, thanks for the feedback 👍

    That looks like a 14' or 15' but it's definitely not a 16" and using a range technologies AFM programmer does not guarantee one of the AFM lifters (Cyl 1,4,6 or7) still won't fail. The shift technologies transmission thermostat kit also doesn't guarantee the torque converter doesn't fail either. The torque converters weren't constructed well inside. That kit is ok but you should install a billet torque converter. I installed the upgraded GM thermostat P/N 85585333 by GM SB 21-NA-199 that's regulates the trans temp from 90 degrees C down to 70 degrees C. I don't know about the K and N oil catch can but I understand the theory for a purely GDI engine.

    • @REM-Roller

      How much was the upgraded thermostat?

    • @subatomicparticle6535
      @subatomicparticle6535 2 месяца назад

      @@REM-Roller I paid $82cad no shipping cost, I chose this route because it's a genuine GM part. It lowers the temp from 195F to about 158/160F or from 90c to 70c. GM stamps 70 on the end when it's been upgraded. The only way it will work on your truck is if you also replace the trans cooler lines because they're different on a 14-15' than on the 16-18's. Your lines are held in by clips and mine by a plate with a 10m bolt.

      @@REM-Roller Sorry I assumed you were the author of the video. My bad. Yes it should work on your truck. Just take a quick look on the driver's side cooler lines to be 100% that they don't have exposed hexagon fittings!

    I did the transmission thermostat a few years ago it seems to work great for the summer time but it sure does not like winter. My transmission feels great at about 130° but it is hard to get it there in the winter time. I went from the best truck ever made a 98 Chevy Silverado to a 2014 and these trucks are nothing more than glorified grocery getter

      lol i agree my friend to get the temp up in mine i let it idle for a few minutes it brings the heat up this is after the two starts from the remote start, i let it warm up about 30min on the cold days, but mine seems ok even around 100 degrees,

    I have a 2014. Terrible terrible terrible. Transmission will fail period. No silly mod will stop because all of the transmission parts are crap. The torque converters are poor quality. Heat just accelerates their death. Terrible shifts. Can't decide what gear it is supposed to in. Crappy A/C system! Crappy headlights! Crappy electronics! Radiators are total shit! Had three under warranty!

      i must be one of the lucky ones my transmission seems to shift fine , even better now i put a pulsar tunner in, and i'm at 152k i've put almost 30k on it in a year after the mods and it seems like they have improved truck in all aspects, and i tow a lot, a race car and trailer and my 30ft camper all over the state, my buddy owns a very good transmission shop and we see these trucks in there all the time for converter failure, when i do have to go visit the transmission i'm told to upgrade to 6l90 converter and of course he works his magic on the rest,
