@@nestorautorepair I completed the job, thanks to videos like yours! The car is running great now! Did a Seafoam treatment on the engine and fuel lines. Just need to replace wheel bearing hubs/brakes & rotors on front and she'll be lovely.

I just fixed mine thanks for the video but dude my bold was halfway gone and the black guide was broke 4 places and 3 pieces was jammed right up against the chain.

Nestor if your just doing the camshaft guides and chain and tensioner, the cam sprockets can stay on right?
I just got this code today on my 2014 Malibu. I am overdue for oil change but car drives perfectly fine.Mechanic said it’s common and to start with oil change and vct solenoid . Hopefully that will fix it because I was told 1000 dollars to change timing chain.:( I hate Chevy

How do you verify timing is correct if you are getting p0016 & p0017, with only the valve cover off? Can changing just the tensioner fix it?
If no guides are broken yes you can fix it by replacing the tensioner

Can a broken vacuum pump cause this codes ? Myne broke and i think it damage the camshaft ring that sends signal to camshaft censor
Not really but you can fix the pump first and see

Why would you be replacing the Cam Phasers? If it's because of wear, then the Chain needs replaced to, along with the Guides.
@@billconserva1461 I replaced chain and guides and tensioner and oil spray valve but didn’t do phasers I was able to do phasers yesterday without removing the timing cover

My 2011 buick regal has the same code. Less than six months in the shop again. I think it's the timing again. Still under warranty. Honestly if it's the timing and it's going to get fixed because it's under warranty. Should I get rid of the car in about 6 months?
