The Epitaph in Orthodox Christianity is a liturgical cloth which in its normal form consists of a large, embroidered and often richly decorated cloth, bearing an image of the dead body of Jesus Christ, often with depictions of his mother and other figures, as described in the Gospels. Its use is limited to Good Friday and Holy Saturday services, both in the Orthodox and Eastern Catholic (Unitarian) Churches.
