hi there! love from Ethiopia .since we are in the same church I can see the resemblance for example here the church fathers come and bless hour home too but they only use water and sometimes holy incense (but only the church father put the incense I don't know how they allow you to do this your self there b/c this is a religion practices with a meaning so that is why only the church father offer the incense to god just like the old days) other resemblance is the prayer corner of course it's preferred to have a prayer room if they have one but if not the prayer corner will do fine. and the other thing is the book you mentioned the prayer book is the other resemblance I see. Any how I am very happy you post this and looking forward to see what other common religious practice we have .may god be with you and your family and don't forget to put Ethiopia in your next visiting list believe me you won't regrate it and you will have a chance to see what you only read in book with you own eye
Hi! Thank you so much for sharing! It is great to know that our traditions are so alike! Regarding the incense burning, in Armenian church and in Eastern Orthodox churches it is a common practice for the faithful to burn incense at home. It is considered, that incense not only carries our prayers to God, but it also cleanses and purifies our homes. Ethiopia is definitely on my travel list! I have an Ethiopian church near me and I frequently go there to pray. I admire your tradition of taking off shoes before entering the church. I also love how beautiful parishioners look in their special church attire, women wearing long white veils. And the church itself is very unique! I would love to see some old Ethiopian churches!
I'm from Ethiopia orthodox tewahwdo church. so many of the things you talked about are the same here except some, like the salt or prosphora. we say gods name wherever we open food or do any work( i forget to do it often though😅). i thank god and you for your content🙏🏻

@TaraandSky learn and know the traditions of our Catholic faith. What Holasona is showing is not different than what we also do or should be doing. I recommend you try attending a Latin Mass if you haven’t already. My home is stockpiled with all the Sacramentals that’s on this video and more. Do you have holy water font by your front door and bless yourself as you leave, for example. Good Friday oil another example. Every morning I wake up before my family, light a candle and bless EVERY room (while they are sleeping) making a sign of the cross with my candle, starting from my front door asking for blessings upon my family and protection. You can find these in the Roman Catholic Church. Yes, find a Latin traditional parish. Confraternity of St Peter. look deeply into the true tradition within the Roman Catholic Church first before you settle somewhere else ❤ God bless you
@@gloriaa.2442 The Latin church is just not the same. I'd recommend a Byzantine Catholic church but they are not widespread. There are more Orthodox churches than Eastern Catholic churches.

It's not a matter of being proud. Catholicism is a beautiful faith. But through my studies I have found I prefer the older Catholicism. The pre-Vatican II Catholicism. And the more I learn, the further back I hope to go. Orthodoxy, from what I understand, practices now very much like it was practiced before the schism. Do you have a Byzantine parish near you? I am Roman Catholic/Latin Rite, but have recently been attending my local Byzantine parish and I'm in love with it! I've been disheartened by the post-Vatican II church too, and I'm not as comfortable with the Latin Mass community, as much as the liturgy is beautiful. But I'm finding the Byzantine Rite to be a beautiful combination of the unity of Rome, with the compassion and philosophy of Eastern Christianity! I've been listening to the What God is Not podcast with Mother Natalia and Fr. Michael O'Loughlin, too :)
I am from the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, and I can confirm that many of the practices you mentioned are also present in our church. These practices are truly blessed and help us feel closer to God. Thank you for your informative video

I am a Greek Orthodox and i love your videos . We share the same beliefs and practices .I share your videos with my friends who are not Christian so they can understand me better . For example name day 😊
I’m a catholic mom of a nine year old son. We pray before mealtime, we do have some crucifixes in our home and some icons (my husband loves them a lot). We are all active in our church, my son is an altar boy, I am a psalmist (singing from the psalms after each reading of the Old Testament) and my husband is the one preparing church for services and cleaning everything up after masses. My son has a little basin for holy water in his room. (Dried up, thanks for the reminder!) We don’t have as many traditions regarding bread, salt and things that connect the divine to daily life. I love that in your home with the blessed salt. I would love that very much. Again, all the best to you kids, may they be healthy very soon again!
We also have oil, salt, water blessed at church or when a priest visits (also crucifixes, holly images and holly medals). We can have water, salt exorcized and medal of St Benedict.
I am from Eritrean orthodox tewahedo church, your faith traditions and holy practices are very interesting almost similar traditions with our traditions. The Almighty God bless your family. keep
more than 80 million Ethiopian orthodox Christians also exercise the same thing except the salt part and before we take holy communion .... we have to confess to a priest each and every time and it has a lot of processes before one is ready to take the holy communion, other than that we all are the same ...the way you articulate in your video about orthodox Christian was really sensational thanks for sharing with us God Bless you and your family... keep on doing what you are doing and tell the world the Blessing of God is always up on us
I’m a Catholic and we do of the same things. We have a home “altar” with icons and incense. We get our house blessed once a year, although in a different way. I love the idea of blessing salt. I’ll have to ask my priest if he can do that. We have prayers every three hours, but we aren’t obligated to do them if you haven’t done any vows.
Praying for you to come to your sanity and revert back to the one and only true church of our God! No one can learn about Christianity and not understand that Eastern Orthodoxy is the one and only true religion, untouched by human!

For example name day 😊
Thank you for your kind words! And thank you for sharing the video! I am glad it was helpful!
Seems youre ashamed of the "icons"
@@JiseRivera no, that’s a misconception. I am completely unashamed of any religious symbol in our home.
Thank you so much for sharing! I love that your whole family is so involved with the church! God bless you!
We also have oil, salt, water blessed at church or when a priest visits (also crucifixes, holly images and holly medals). We can have water, salt exorcized and medal of St Benedict.
It's so much like the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church, the most ancient and oldest denomination in the world 🌍 Thanks for sharing!

I am from Ethiopian Orthodox and we have almost similar am very excited on the message you shared keep up and may the Jehovah be with you
more than 80 million Ethiopian orthodox Christians also exercise the same thing except the salt part and before we take holy communion .... we have to confess to a priest each and every time and it has a lot of processes before one is ready to take the holy communion, other than that we all are the same ...the way you articulate in your video about orthodox Christian was really sensational thanks for sharing with us God Bless you and your family... keep on doing what you are doing and tell the world the Blessing of God is always up on us
Thank you so much for your kind words! And thank you for sharing! God bless you too!
Thank you for sharing! I am glad we have so many similar traditions!
I’m a Jew but this video has kept popping up on my feed and finally watched very interesting to see some similarities G-D bless ❤

I loved your video. I'm a Roman Catholic from India. You are blessed to be a mom of 3 young children. And your family is blessed to have you bringing them up in the traditions of your faith. I too have enjoyed doing similar things similar for my family, when my children were younger blending Roman catholic and local Indian traditions. Keep doing your beautiful and inspirational things for your family. And stay blessed .
Thank you for your kind words! And thank you for sharing!
