Something a little different for the channel, but I've been on a hair metal kick lately, so here ya go! Warren DeMartini's extremely stylish solo from "Lay It Down" by the 80s hair metal legends, Ratt. Really neat how this song smoothly weaves between minor, major, and Dorian, and Warren's lead playing keeps up with that effortlessly. I can also definitely hear the influence guys like him had on a lot of my favorite players--Marty Friedman, Alexi Laiho, Alex Skolnick, and Brandon Ellis come to mind.
In spite of that, I often hear this genre being criticized by much of the rest of the metal community, and I gotta say, I think y'all are missing out on some really killer guitar playing if you're skipping over it! Sleazy pentatonic and blues scale licks, massive harmonized guitar hooks, and the quintessential Big Dick Vibrato™...what's not to love?
Amazing job! Warren rules.
Thanks man! Yes, he definitely does.
Good cover ❤❤❤ but slightly over playing and bending
Exactly my thought. It felt robotic and repetitious. Vary the bends and I think he has some decent potential.
@@Evilthx❤❤❤❤ thanks for your agreement 🤝 potentially over kinetic 😂😂😂😂😂😂
