Nice to see an honest restoration for a change. Usually they are buried in a hole for a couple of days until miraculously they are discovered by accident ready for a dramatic restoration.
+Graham Parr thanks! Yeah I’ve seen some of those videos, pretty lame. Most of my finds come from EBay, the worse condition the better! Lol
LOOKS LIKE IT JUST CAME FROM THE FACTORY !!!NICE.
I really admire your skill. I look at your video's when I'm eating dinner from my recliner. I build r/c cars and boats, which is amateurish compared to what you can do. Bravo !
How does one man possess this much knowledge
Really,- another good restoration.
Instant reminder of Ghostbusters!
Thanks for watching!
Look's like a Tonka Emergency, and well done !!!.
Thanks!
I hooe you keep all your Tonka restore collection and put them on a shelf. Even better you should display your works at your local museum.
Had this one in the mid-70's. One of my favorites.
+e cool! Definitely one of the favorites in my collection!
Superb!!!! I had one of these when I was little!!!!!
Cool! Wish I had. Pretty bad when you have to wait until you're 42 to get the toys you want lol
"We're on our way, Rampart!"
+Chez Snailez lmao yes! Tell Dixie! 🤣
10-4. 51 out
Roger 51, KMG-365.
Doggone I forgot KMG-365. GREAT MEMORY bustyrandit!
Yup; good ol' Roy DeSoto ang John Gage (now I have the EMERGENCY theme song going through my head!)
And I thought the windows were yellow. Amazing!
Thanks!
You beat me to it! Bought this exact ambulance last night to restore! Great work!
+Joe DIY lol thanks. You’ll beat me to the next one
I have one I plan on restoring where can I get the stickers from
One of my favorite toys back in the day. Thanks for sharing your talents and videos.
+Michael Rzeszuto thanks for watching!
Wow look so good 😊
+TysyTube Restoration thank you!! 😎
Nice work👍👍👍
Great Job, Back when that Ambulance was new my Grandfather gave me one. And my Cousin had the Winnebago. Great memories.
+Matthew Bistram cool! 😎
Me encanta. Preparada de nuevo al rescate.
Wow, no spiders!!!
You're missing a sticker on the back top piece.
GHOSTBU-
Oh wait, wrong ambulance
Снова восхищен работой мастера-БРАВО!!!!
very nice work 😎👍
Thanks!
When I'm dealing with windshield on 1/64th scale models I find mother's polish really clears up the stuff retro brighting misses. Might help on the bigger windshield as well
Super job!
Thank you!
Beautifully restored 👍
+Coll Berks thanks!! 😎
this all takes me back to when i was kid in the 60's.. love it.
Great job, amazing restoration. Hard work certainly pays off, well done. Just love it
Thank you! :)
I really like the work you do in your restorations. That being said, please record ALL the sounds throughout your videos, Every time you silence the sound, I think there is something wrong with my computer's speakers. Trust me, nobody watching your videos will be offended by the sound of power tools.
MOPARGuy The accuracy of your comment matches your intelligence.
Not going to lie, part of me was hoping for a Ghostbusters twist
lol yeah, would have made a great Ecto-1
Wow good job
Thanks!
Great restoration and a nice editing job too--very smooth. I'm sure no one noticed that you forgot the steering wheel @11:03! Nice work--jus' messin' wichuh.
Thanks for watching!
Back when toys were toys and not the cheap, franchised crap they have today.
Nice job, looks brand new.
+Donald Swink thanks! 😎
Until you grabbed it I thought it was the size of a die cast car lol. Very nice.
+Jason Wilson thanks! 😎
If you are experienced with an airbrush, try using some Alclad II Chrome. It is pre-thinned and is ready for airbrush use. It is some of the best chrome paint you'll ever buy. It produces a highly realistic finish to any kind of plastic surface. You'll have to use a gloss black base coat for the chrome to look its best. Just a suggestion. :)
🍩h my, This one is cool!!
Color doesn't match with cabinet and lamp section. And a sticker doesn't exist of the restored one. Though beautifully done. Excellent as always.
Thanks for watching!
Hi TRG👋👋👋very good restoration ambulance 🚑 👍👍👍
+Кошмар Кошмар thank you! 😎
Well done ...Thump UP!
+Herr Deutschmann Danke 😎
For your chrome parts look into the alclad line of chrome paints for models. Good tutorials out there for it too.
Another fantastic restoration
Makes me want to have a go
+Gordon Thorpe thanks! 😎
The Ghostbusters will be very proud of you
Thank you! :)
It could be Ecto-4....X4. Set up to get the Ghostbusters into remote areas for ghostbusting work.
Very nice Ambulance
+Jennifer Divers thanks! 😎
That has got to be an eighties toy, a great deal of plastic there. You did a great job with it in any case. Looks good. Nice work.
+Hoonozit Thanks! 😎
This tonka was first released in 1971 according to tonka. I have 3 of the exact one in video. All 3 are M.I.B. I have over 500 tonkas in my collection all are in mint condition.
@Scott Sounds like you should know better than I. You say "first" released. How many years were they produced and maybe materials changed over the years? I'm not a Tonka pro but I have never seen an "old" Tonka with so much plastic - it is even used for the load bearing under carriage. Maybe it's time for me to adjust my view of old Tonkas.
@@Hoonozit Tonka started using clear styrene in windshield in 1961. They used clear styrene buttons for headlights in 1957.They first used red colored styrene in their 1956 fire truucks. Before that they used clear and red colored glass in their headlights and emergency beacons. All of this was manufactured in house along with rubber tires ,hpses and animal figures, decals, bpats and cars in beaitiful Mound Minnesota. I toured the factory while on vacation cross country with my famiy back in 1966. I still have pictures of that trip and factory tour that I took with my Kodak Instamatic camera. I have traveled the world while in the military I bought many Tonkas from people in the mid west region of the U.S. back in the 60's -70's and 80's.
Ok, so you looked it up and discovered it was made in the eighties and it never had a metal load bearing under carriage. Got it, thanks.
Very satisfying. Congratulations 👏
+Turan Oguz Thanks! 😎
I like how you edit your videos!
Nice Job! I'm hoping to restore some of these larger scale toys but they are not always easy to find. Can't wait to see what you do next.
+Uncle Tom's Shop thanks! 😎
Super restore! You might want to try clear floor polish on your plastic parts. They will cleanup and shine, no buffing needed.
Thanks for watching!
Muito bom. Parabéns.
Great job
+Big Charlie's Model Garage thanks!
Hasta la presentación es PARA APLAUDIR ! ! !
Great job bro
my memory is a little fuzzy as I am trying to remember a childhood moment from 40+years ago, but I think I did have this toy as a small child!!!
Cool! :)
I somewhat recall playing with one at Williet Pre-School in the mid-70s.
Holy shnyky im really big on collecting unique emergency vehicles i love it was it hard to find id love to add one to my collection and display it
+Byron Taylor not really hard to find, there are several currently on eBay
Very well done!
+Ronald Lapointe thanks! 😎
Yes; all it needs now is a 'city seal' of where you live on the door! :-)
Chris Mayer cool idea for the next municipal type vehicle that I do!
I remember taking a hammer to one of these in my youth. I kinda wish I still had it.
The truck or the hammer?
I am not a Ghostbuster fan. You should try to find another 1970's Tonka Rescue Ambulance. And make it into the Ecto 1. Only use Tonka parts and give the feel of the Ecto 1. Not the exacta look. That would be KOOL. Like your vid's!!! MAKE MORE!!
+S Christy thanks you 😊
Great job again mate
+Kisslover 1973-2019 thanks again! KISS rocks by the way! 🎸🎸🎸
Great work. Hard to believe that's the same window. Bet you got cramps in your fingers.
+scottgm321 definitely just going to buy a new one next time! Lol
Great job. Since you are into powder coating you might want to use a chrome powder rather than the paint for your bumpers. You will get a more brilliant chrome like appearance as opposed to the semi-matte look from the paint....Also for bodies that might be pitted, use a KL build primer powder that you can wet sand back down before you apply your color powder. One question however, did you not use any kind of compound when buffing the windshield? They do make compounds for plastic, in case you were unaware.
Excellent work! Really like your channel and restorations. You've got a new sub.
+Dave thanks! 😎
really great restoration, Brasso is meant to be really good for yellowing windows etc.
+richard grahame cool, will have to try it next time
Hey, I had this one, in military colors. It came with a Jeep and a pickup truck.
+Vigo 894 cool! Haven’t seen one of those before
How the $#!+ did you save that elf-messed transparency??? WOW!!!
+Chris Mayer lots of chemicals, wet sanding, and buffing. Will probably just buy a new one next time lol
Awesome! I'm a new subscriber! I have a 1/64 restoration channel would love to do Tonka but I don't have the right equipment keep the restos!
why dont you restore sand blaster gun so we can see why it don have psi would like to see how to restore love how you restored tonka jeep
Nice job. Just a suggestion. Keeping the audio on all the time is pretty satisfying. Just my personal opinion though. I like hearing the sounds sped up. Lol
My latest video has all of the audio. I figured some of it would be too high pitched, but people seem to want that, so we'll see how it goes.
The Encalumba!
Well....
That was awesome.🙂
Subbing for more like this one.
Thank you! :)
@@TRGRESTORATIONS
You are welcome.
i have the same one but its not that rusty. will be more like sandpaper and spraycans...same problem with the windows, dont know how i will repair it. but its a nice tonka and it deserves a try so thanks for your vid.
+bent andre yeah the windows turned out great, but I had to spend way too much time on them!
In 70s toys look barely like the real thing with 2 or 3 things resembles the original but were simple n still attractive than new gen
Thanks for watching!
Another excellent rescue! (you see what i did there?) ;-)
You get me bro ;)
Anyone else get a ghost busters vibe?
+Logan Putman I wanted to really bad. I knew as soon as I did though, people everywhere would be like “nu-uh, Ecto-1 was a Cadillac!” 🤣
Holy, 💩 snacks, I thought it was those small joints,
Gliberto
OK. I'm in.
+Bobby Foster thanks! Make sure to tell 1,000 of your closest friends and family 😉 lol
Outstanding job. Did you ever get the RESCUE decal for the back?
Soooo satisfying yet boring at the same time. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE YOUR WORKS, please put a little sound of music on the back of your video. OR at least let the sound of your power tools ON :).
I was thinking the same thing. I have passed by on a lot of thses longer videos because it's hard to watch without any background noise
I ask for another information ... where can the paint booth be purchased?
I am about to start same piece. What orange color did u use?
It's called Ocher Orange
That's look a little bit like the ecto 1 from gost busters
The Ecto-1 is a 1959 Cadillac Futura Duplex
Is there any important difference between sand blasting and soda blasting?
One letter.
it's the same process. different types of media are used on different types of projects
Hi, would you like to know the brand and model of the sandblaster? thanks a lot
amzn.to/2mbBxgv
Shouldn’t there be another sticker on the back top?
There should be. Dang thing was impossible to find!
The ambulance needs ambulance as she is in critical condition
Thanks for watching!
What is that krylon liquid glass silver, is that like chrome paint? Or better that chrome paint.
Was supposed to be a mirror finish, the results were kinda dull though
@@TRGRESTORATIONS that's too bad, I've been looking for a decent chrome paint for years and still haven't found one. Either way, awsome job...and thanks for the response
Sound please.
Towel label? No...(12:07)
Where do you get the stickers?
Ebay
rear sticker ??
+billy valentine nope. Darn near impossible to find 🤷🏻♂️
TRG RESTORATION oh thought there were three on the sheet
Reciclar
Where can I buy the "Tonka" Stickers?
+Herr Deutschmann www.toydecals.com
Or
www.nicerdecals.com
If you're selling it I'll give you maybe 20 bucks or so
DON'T USE THE SILENCE in awesome sounds, please
Awesome restoration!
+Clyde Balcom thanks! 😎
