@@TRGRESTORATIONS That green looks amazing. What was the name of that color? I mostly use the Eastman stuff, but pretty much any powder has worked for me in the past. Thanks! Love the videos!
Moon Bear I wanted to know the particular name of the color of powder he used. I know the common names of the general color, but manufacturers usually name their shades. I was interested in buying some, so I was curious about the exact name.
God has a special place for people like you, who have the patience and the talent to do projects like this and bring these types of items back to their original beauty and functionality. It's just a shame that so many things now-a-days are built for throw away rather than refurbish. Nice job and nice video.
Had such a garbage truck when I was a little boy, played a lot with all kind of Tonka trucks those days. And, instantly remembering that typical '70s green... Very nice job!
I still have a Tonka dump truck that my mom brought me back in the early seventies. It's not rusted like this truck but the grill is beat up a little from my imaginative childhood. It is my oldest possession. Tonka really did build tough trucks. Don't laugh but I always called my truck "Big Trucky". Shoutout to Tonka.
Very nice work on the highway snowplow truck but, it's the wrong color Sir. You should've painted it Okie Orange (look it up, it's an actual color) and traditional for County or State highway trucks. Again though, very nicely done.
Admittedly, I fast forward through parts of these videos. Not the sand blasting part. Something about cleanly removing years of rust is strangely satisfying.
Awesome excellent superb outstanding tremendous beautiful jaw dropping eye popping amazing stupendous job you did on that garbage truck keep up the great work
Nice job! I wonder if this toy is worth that much to spend that much time on. I worked as a toy repairman, mostly working on 50's, early 60's Japanese battery op toys. It was the most enjoyable job I ever had... and was blown away by the intricate mechanisms, designed to not only be made as cheaply as possible, but to fully function reliably. In some cases, I had to do modifications to add reliability... a weaker or stronger spring... and sometimes, I I used a stronger spring, I had to alter the structure, change gear ratios.. but it was so satisfying to see these toys restored to full function. My bosses didn't pay me very well, but even then, they'd complain that they were paying me more for my repairs than the toy was worth. I was concered. Being a mom & pop business, I could see their point, but I was determined to get these toys working like new... so much for perfection... Needless to say, they used my services less and less. I miss that job dearly. The others I worked with were so talented. They are tinsmiths with the most incredible skills, with attention to the most minute details... the mind boggles. The gal doing the paint could match any color or patina, do perfect pin striping, free-hand work. What an honor.
This is my generation of Tonka. I still have four pieces of this cab-over design. Luckily mine are in slightly better shape - hard use, but no rust. I cant express enough how much these toys meant to me. They framed my creativity. Great stuff. Keep up the good work!
*That Color is far out, man ✌️😌* Had be to be from the 70s Excellent restoration! And, it's cool when a sandblaster looks like it's spray painting gray.
I got one of those for either Christmas or my birthday . And what was the first thing I did . Went around the house emptying all the ashtrays . This was also the smallest TONKA in my collection .
This makes me happy, I had one as a kid. Some jerk stole it so I only had it for about a week after my 5th birthday. Would have been 45 years ago on May 28 that I got this.
Were the original Tonka’s powder coated? I understand it’s a tough surface coating that is perfect for these models. I was just wondering… Superb restoration, another time you didn’t let us down!
I love watching stuff like this. Most people don’t realize how much production actually goes into the restoration and the video end product. Thank you for doing this.
All these toys have a history, if only they could talk. I adore watching this channel it both takes me back to my childhood and the toys that made me happy and the adult pleasure of seeing a job well done. Tonka, built to last!. getting fairly rare to find today though.
I don't know why it is, but watching you sandblast the rust and paint off and old toy is quite satisfying. it's like your giving the toy a new lease on life. Really nice work, thanks for sharing! As always thumbs up!
Solid work. I have one of these myself, but it's not in even remotely as bad shape as yours was! These came with a small sticker on the back quarter that showed a crude trash monster with "LITTER BUG" written underneath. I haven't found anyone who makes reproduction decals of it.
I have that same little dump truck at my moms house! It was mine as a child and has provided many days of enjoyment for all the nieces, nephews and grand kids!

I couldn’t believe how well that turned out. Thank you for saving that Tonka Truck and for posting.
Our pleasure!

Thanks for watching! 🤘🏼🤘🏼

Beautiful and Clean Restoration. congratulations

I really do say "Yaaay" whenever I see rusted metal, because that equals Sandblasting!!
I can't believe it was looking better before! That rust was outstanding, YOU MONSTER!
🙄🙄🙄
Had this exact color scheme when I was younger. Seeing this brought back some nice memories. Thank you for doing this.
Glad you enjoyed it!
The sandblast's the best part of process... The paint too... And the final assembly.... The whitening... Oh gosh, ALL process is Perfect!
Glad you liked it!!
An OUTSTANDING restoration job!!.. Looks better than it did when it left the Tonka Factory!!.. Keep up the great work Bud!!

A very nice restore. A toy is never truly happy until it has been played with by a child.
Astonishing. I couldn’t believe how well it finished. Like brand new.
Thanks for watching!
Better than new
Brings a tear to my eye seeing these old toys restored. Shame they don't make toys like this anymore.
Always were my favorite tonka wheels! I think the cheer for the sand blaster is one of my favorite things about your vids. Another ace job, good stuff
Glad you like them!

Thanks!

Thank you very much for full sandblasting! Very satisfying.

Phenomenal work. Also, you don't have to use click bait phrases to garner views. Your work does the trick nicely. Artist at work.
Thanks! RUclips can be fickle some times, occasionally it'll pay to try different things

Does anyone else (at least internally) scream "yay!!!!" along with the children for the sandblasting time? 😂
lol I hope so!

Made back when toys could be used to take-out neighborhood bullies
Think of the gash you could give them with the edge of the truck lol
Fantastic results! A Master Class in restoration.
Am I the only one who feels so uncomfortable hearing the noise of rusty metal grinding?
No I used that mute feature. I saw it coming and tried to avoid it but was about 2 seconds too slow
I felt that sound in my fingers. 😫
Great job. One more piece of history saved from the junk pile.
