The PS5 PRO is nice to game on for consoles but that's where it ends. The N.Switch 2 is in the works and posses on the go gaming where the PS5 doesn't. XBOX consoles are just a placeholder until Microsoft comes out with their portable system like the switch or gamers just go to PC anyways. I'm not knocking SONY's gaming console but there are limitations to that platform which a demographic of gamers don't apply (On the go gamers).

A 3060 will get you 60+FPS at 1440p on many games and almost all at 1080p. A game at higher settings and 1080p will look just fine and run at higher framerates. It's no different really than a console gamer selecting performance mode over fidelity mode. Please don't act like console games are so optimized when PS5 has had two exclusives in Spiderman 2 and Final Fantasy 16 that had optimization issues.
What’s crazy is the PS2 was the OG in upgrading games. It played PS1 games with smoothed textures. So Sony in a technical standpoint was ahead of its time during the PS2 era. Now, the PS5 Pro has expanded on that tenfold.

I have both Xbox series X and PS5 and now a PlayStation pro. I have seen the most toxicity from Xbox channels and have blocked them because of it. I rarely turn on my Xbox series X but my PlayStation gets fired up every day. PlayStation just wins. It's easier to create content and stream than Xbox and now with the pro my LG shines. That remained CONSISTENT until the PS3/360 generation where it THEN went to $60 and NOW we’re at $70 which, in my opinion, REALLY is actually a pretty good deal for the AMOUNT of hours of entertainment that a well-made complete game can bring you (assuming you’re not one of these people getting suckered into buying some of the BS that’s peddled out by a lot of these major AAA publishers like EA and Ubisoft).

I think it a common sentiment that we would all love more first party games from Playstation studios but I’m playing Rebirth and I loving Cosmo canyon traversal and the PSSR boost is just amazing we are at a point where we can play at 4k and get 60fps in an open world game like FF7 Rebirth and Burning Shores on console. I have just a good old time consistently with the Pro.

Yes, having gamed since age 6 in 1980 on an Atari 2600 that my Dad somehow got for me and my brother as my Mom stayed at home with us, we were the poorest non homeless people I've ever known. He worked full time plus OT for minimum wage, which around 1980 was under $3 per hour, he also went to night school for a GED and machinist training. That Atari at $200 back then is equal to $400 today...I still don't know how he got it for us. We had shoes without laces. All my clothes had been my big brothers clothes, we ate pork and beans with cut up hot dog chunks probably 5 times per week. We had nothing. Only had a roof because we lived in a basement renovated into a second house basically...just smaller. That Atari 2600, and a few GI Joe's and Star Wars figures...those were my Christmas/birthday gifts of 1980 to 1985...in 1990 I was 16 and bought a Sega Genesis with my 3rd paycheck from my first job working full service at a gas station. After that, I bought every console day 1 except the Xbox Series consoles and 3DO,Phillips CDi, Neo Geo, etc...the obscure ones you only know of if youk were there.

I have 1,058 games in my ps5 library. Not counting PS Plus games. 242 of them are Physical Disc versions. Obviously that includes ps4 games, but in total, if I remember right, I have around 350 ps5 games, probably more.

I think Sony knows they have to show 1st party games, but strategically saved reveals for a 30th anniversary showcase. They hinted the date (3/12) in the new Playstation promo trailer, and the original playstation launched Dec 3, 1994. Also, the game awards is usually first week Dec but this year is scheduled for 2nd week Dec, likely because the 30th anniversary showcase is 1st week Dec.

Maybe it’s because you and I are old enough to REMEMBER gaming in the 90s when games like Final Fantasy III/VI on the SNES and Phantasy Star IV were like $75-$90 at RELEASE (hell, a lot of those SNES games that used the Super FX chip to do early 3D renders like Star Fox and Donkey Kong Country were also a little bit more EXPENSIVE than EQUIVALENT games at $65-$70).
It was ACTUALLY the first PlayStation which used the MUCH CHEAPER and FLEXIBLE CD-ROM optical discs that made games come down to the more “consumer friendly” MSRP of like $50 for a brand new AAA game.
That remained CONSISTENT until the PS3/360 generation where it THEN went to $60 and NOW we’re at $70 which, in my opinion, REALLY is actually a pretty good deal for the AMOUNT of hours of entertainment that a well-made complete game can bring you (assuming you’re not one of these people getting suckered into buying some of the BS that’s peddled out by a lot of these major AAA publishers like EA and Ubisoft).
Not about to use prices from 30 years ago to justify the prices now. It really boils down simply: supply what gamers want for a price they will accept and they will buy. These companies are doing neither.
The only point I was making is this: idk how TF you can complain about $70 games packed with potentially HUNDREDS OF HOURS OF CONTENT NOW when you keep picking up games from some of the “worst offenders” in terms of the “ship now, fix later” type BS when games were EQUALLY PRICED 30 years ago but were only a few hours long (they just instead required you to REPLAY them a couple dozen times before you could finally get the hang of them enough to beat them in a single playthrough).

The ONLY point I’m making is: game production has like 10x’d in COST but we’re STILL paying RELATIVELY the SAME PRICES at retail that we did 30 years ago for games (despite them offering much more “value per dollar”; now, whether or not you think that value is WORTH IT is obviously ENTIRELY SUBJECTIVE and on a case-by-case basis but to make it out like ALL GAMES being priced at $70 is the problem when that’s NOT even the case is ENTIRELY DISINGENUOUS).

I think it a common sentiment that we would all love more first party games from Playstation studios but I’m playing Rebirth and I loving Cosmo canyon traversal and the PSSR boost is just amazing we are at a point where we can play at 4k and get 60fps in an open world game like FF7 Rebirth and Burning Shores on console. Yes, having gamed since age 6 in 1980 on an Atari 2600 that my Dad somehow got for me and my brother as my Mom stayed at home with us, we were the poorest non homeless people I've ever known. He worked full time plus OT for minimum wage, which around 1980 was under $3 per hour, he also went to night school for a GED and machinist training. That Atari at $200 back then is equal to $400 today...I still don't know how he got it for us. We had shoes without laces. All my clothes had been my big brothers clothes, we ate pork and beans with cut up hot dog chunks probably 5 times per week. We had nothing. Only had a roof because we lived in a basement renovated into a second house basically...just smaller. That Atari 2600, and a few GI Joe's and Star Wars figures...those were my Christmas/birthday gifts of 1980 to 1985...in 1990 I was 16 and bought a Sega Genesis with my 3rd paycheck from my first job working full service at a gas station. After that, I bought every console day 1 except the Xbox Series consoles and 3DO,Phillips CDi, Neo Geo, etc...the obscure ones you only know of if youk were there.

I have 1,058 games in my ps5 library. Not counting PS Plus games. 242 of them are Physical Disc versions. Obviously that includes ps4 games, but in total, if I remember right, I have around 350 ps5 games, probably more.

My tv is 8 years old though and was missing features to get everything out of Pro...like it didn't have VRR, so I couldn't use the aPSSR or PSRR, whichever it is. So as I said earlier, I bought a new v specifically an actual gaming tv in every way. It's all I need since I haven't watched a single movie or tvshow...not 1 episode of any show, for 10 plus years now (since April 2014,on my birthday I stopped watching everything...dejtoxxed my brain from the constant lies, fake news, and brainwashing.
