    I recently picked up an old 89 klr250. Almost everything needed rebuilt, replaced, or cleaned but I can’t wait to get on the road. I think these are awesome bikes, thanks for the vid.

      Hi Daniel
      You're welcome.
      I'm quite excited to get it out on the open road or even just further than the back garden. It does seem like a great little machine that should be capable of so much...once im finished sorting it.
      I think the older ones, like your 89, had a more powerful engine so should give you a real blast once its up and running.
      What have you got left to do on it?

    Hi guys, is a shame things have gone quiet from you both. I'd like to see more repairs and adventures! Interestingly ive had great use of your honda cg 125 and klr 250 videos. We obviously have the same great choice of bikes! 😂 I'll be taking the klr on a camping trip soon 👍

    Hey I acctually watched this awhile ago and I just ran across it again and thought I would say hi and tell you what I found out today about my klr 250
    So I bought a klr 250 for $150 and i first got it everything's there everything's fine but I notice theres low compression *65 compression mind you* so I took everything apart saw that everything looked brand new inside like it had no wear no nothing so I check the valves there good so I check the piston....the piston rings were all the way compressed so other than brand new piston rings I got the bike basically new for only $150 along with about 43 bucks for piston rings ...WISH ME LUCK👋

      Sounds like an awesome deal. Well done.
      I've finally got mine road ready and really enjoying how it rides.
      I did record all the progress but my memory card kinda died on me so now I'm struggling to recover the data, sooo frustrating.
      Have you been able to rebuild the engine yet? How does it feel now?

    I love those vacuum bleeders, they make it so much easier. Good for getting oil out of car engine spark plug recesses too when the rocker cover gasket has failed and filled them with oil.

      Yeah, Its served us well so far. Just got to get a good seal on the bleed nipple and you're away. No doubt it will feature again. We used it once before for removing fork oil to a specific level/air gap. Handy tool to have.

      Cheers. Yep it’s still on the go. We did a Townmate update a while ago. It’s a bit of a slow burning background project 😁

    Could you link the front caliper rebuild kit you used?

    • @MechitBetter
      @MechitBetter  7 месяцев назад

      Hey, thanks for watching the video.
      I'm pretty sure the set was ordered from "ALL BALLS"
      CALIPER REBUILD KIT - NO. 18-3076
      The same caliper was apparently used on a number of different machines (check allballsracing website for list) but because they are such old bikes now it might be difficult to find parts in stock.
      Hope that helps

    but how did you deal with that little metal clip at 4:42????

    • @MechitBetter
      @MechitBetter  4 года назад

      Hi Jeremy.
      The metal clip wasn't all that bad: just needed a little love from a small wire brush and wiping over with a rag.
      Has it caused you some difficulties with your own rebuild?

      Aaah, perfect. Glad you managed to get it sorted. It can be the simplest things sometimes.
      Just remember to take it steady while the new pads bed in. Enjoy the ride.

    Would of been worth watching if you actually showed how to fit the clip at bottom of pade

      Sorry dude, did you manage to get sorted in the end?
      Didn't realise I'd missed some detail out.
      Maybe you could leave a little description below in case someone else has the same issue?

      There's a Facebook group for klr 250. But hopefully can't be that hard to fit? Did you get it fixed?
