Man I am on day two of trying to fix a bike and your tear vid was super helpful. Thank you!
Have the exact same issue when giving throttle on my 09 KLX250S (same carb). Have the carb off now and using your vids to help, thanks for documenting!
Good luck!
A good fuel filter is a must on these old bikes, most gas tanks have plenty of rust and junk in them.
Awesome! Used the Kawi service manual and your vid and successfully have carb out and getting the green nasty out. Thanks mucho
I have a 2003 KLR 250 as well and it has the same symptoms you describe. I haven't gotten around to fixing the issue (life events happen), but figured it was the carb. I'll have time this year to check out the problem. Thanks for the video!
I had a bunch of green stuff in my KLR250 carb too
thanks much!!!
just picked up a 2004 klr 250 for $500, doesn't start. carb cleaning is my first task
Good luck!
@@SevenFortyOne success! but had to get a rebuild kit, the old parts were too corroded. Thank you!
I have a stripped jet it was the second one you took off in this video at 4:54 time slot
Thank you very much. Perfect video . Explain .
You helper to me very much. 🙏
'bout to do mine. Thanks for the refresher!
Nice video man! dose enyone know, how I can dethrottle the klr 250 from 17 hp to 27 hp?? Thx
Cheers mate. Great vid & very helpful.
This video really helped, thanks!
Great videos! Just to confirm, the clear hose (reddish) is the overflow hose? So it shouldn't be connected at the back end?
I had fuel leaking out of it, but the way it flares at the end I thought it had become disconnected at the back end somewhere?
Mine just hung down by the swing arm and drained on the ground
@@SevenFortyOne great thanks! That helps a lot!
Good video well done and very informative. Was that carb off a Kawasaki 250 atv?
No, it's the factory carb that came on the bike when new
@@SevenFortyOne gotcha👍 I have the same carb but mines on a Kawasaki Mojave 250 atv. Thanks
Saw you on Papa Texas channel and subbed.
Thanks Bud! I've subbed you as well...
SevenFortyOne Thank you. Enjoy your how to videos. Have a great weekend. I am shooting this weekend and usually post my shooting videos.
hahah my sidepanel foam is missing entirely !!
I had a tiny washer fall out where does it go?
Hola , podrias activar la opcion de traduccion gracias de antemano
I recently bought a 1989 Kawasaki klr250, I pulled the carburetor apart to clean it which went find but the floats are out of whack. With the bowl on I couldn't blow any air through at all. I took it apart again and messed with the tab on the floats and finally got some air through when testing. I have worked on many carburetors but never this style. Where should the float level be on the floats? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
Sorry - I don't know the answer. You might be able to download a shop manual on-line someplace that will have the info you need. Or, you might be able to check on a KLR-250 forum.
Hi how does that sleeve go in ,. The one that is mid way in the carburetor
Im going to buy a ner carburator but i can't decide between PD30J AND CVK30,. CAN YOU HELP ME ?
Would this be the same style of carburetor on a 93 mojave 250? I just bought a 4 wheeler and it was running great for a few hours, and then when I went to fire it up later on; it started real hard, throttle revving hi's and low's , I rode it a few minutes like that, and I haven't been able to get it going again since.
I did make the mistake of putting crappy gas in it.. and now I'm trying to figure out how to drain the carburetor because I'm pretty sure it's been flooded. Any advice is much appreciated; thank you for this video tutorial. I know the carb on my 4 wheeler says CVK on it; I was just wondering if I could use this instructional video to help guide me with mine. Thanks again
I think this carb is very similar to the Mojave...not exactly the same but should be pretty close.
I just got a 96 klr250 that's been sitting outside for 8 years and I'm going to try and restore it. any tips?
My carb was always a problem. Also check your airbbox for cracks - that will mess up your air/fuel mix and cause it not to run right. Check for loose nuts/bolts - forwhatever reason its find things loosen up over time. and check the fork seals. for leaks. Good Luck!
I get black smoke from exhaust.Why ?
Stock carb, not sure what model it is.
Might be running rich. Clean 5he carb and check the valve adjustment
@@SevenFortyOne Carb cleaned, Valves adjusted.
Black smoke still there.
Carb is stock with stock jets.
@@oldgamermusic exhaust valve or oil burning off some how piston rings maybe
Is that the same carb for EN 450 (454 LTD)?
I doubt it...this is a 250
@@SevenFortyOne From what I've seen so far, it appears to be using two Keihin CVK34 carbs.
Ok, well maybe it's the same then. Sounds like you know more about it than me...
@@SevenFortyOne Hey man, I'm just guessing looking for confirmation. You look like you know what you are doing.
That would have really made me mad to find that junk throughout!
I was surprised to see all that gunk in there. I'm told its from the ethanol they put in the fuel these days. I usually drain my carbs when I put my stuff up for the winter but must have missed this one...oh well. BTW, I got your package - thanks! Look for a video in the next day or two...
ethanol fuel ....destroying carbs across the globe
Yup! 👍
