Thanks Runa, for a really good comparison between the dgi cameras and the experience you've experienced with the go-pro. Keep filming love watching your adventures 👍
Hi new subscriber here, from ph. My bday is tomorrow 17. I'm planning to buy a new camera and your video helps a lot. X10 more informative than other reviewers. Nice bike too. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Ma'am Runa for providing such an insightful and honest set up! You are just simply amazing and the epitome of adventure bikers, really and seriously.. await your next Vlog as always! Ride safe!
DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro maybe expensive for my needs as a potential Vlogger but from what you have shown I'd say its worth the cost, in total for my needs £400's. Cheers Runa.
It just really depends on what's important for you I guess! The 4 is a great option too and a big upgrade from the 3 itself. Now with the 5 hitting the market, there are probably a lot of second-hand 4's available for a nice price too if the budget is a bit tight!
Pretty nice comparison and review. I do still have a GoPro 9 because I do also have trust issues to the GoPro models after the 9, so GoPro never was an option for me for a new camera. The DJI OA5 is for sure. I think I will order one for be ready when my new bike arrives. Not sure about a mic, I hate my voice and don't want anybody to hear it ;-) ... but nonetheless ... the Osmo looks great. Thank you very much for your review. And btw: I really like your calm voice. That's one of the reasons why I am watching your videos. Keep on the great work! Good ride!
Thank you very much! I'm glad you liked it 😊 When I started vlogging I really did not like hearing my own voice either. Editing and spending so much time looking at myself was uncomfortable and felt unnatural too. But you get used to it, and eventually stop caring too much about it! It's so easy to become your own biggest bully. Give the mic a try sometime and be kind to yourself 😃
@@OffSheGoesADV you're welcome 🙂 and I know exactly what you mean. Even to hear my own voice in videos of other is really strange. I am not sure if I have enough to say to do vlogging. And as I have to rebuy some stuff for my new bike I will postpone the buy of the mic, but the cam will be ordered for sure :-)
The exhuast note recording by keeping the mic in the backpack sold it for me! great video. I currently use an external mic with Gopro 11, Post processing it and syncing both Video and audio is a pain. Looksl like DJI Osmo Action 5 with the external Mic is the ultimate Vlogging Camera.
It is a really cool feature indeed, and I'm sure there are plenty other creative ways to use that solution 😃 I'm not sure what more I could want from the camera at this point
What a comprehensive, engaging review. I appreciate the personal tips and tricks that really show your field experience and hard earned knowledge. I'm charmed :)
Thank you! That's kind of you 😊 There was so much info I was missing and could not find anything about once I started vlogging, I hope my little tips and tricks can be useful to others starting up and looking for information 😊 Have a good day over there!
Thank you! Glad you liked it 😊 It's very nice indeed to have collabs like these, especially when they give you the freedom to create the video however you like! Have a good evening over there 😊
@@OffSheGoesADV I also wrote them a message in spring, before our 2 months motorcycle trip to Norway from Romania. I use the Action 3 and 4 as well. The first generation of wireless mic. The first Dji Mini drone from 2019. And I wanted an upgraded, maybe with some help from them. But unfortunately they said that for now "I'm to small" to be relevant 🤭. Maybe one day when we grow a bit more. 💪😉 Until then I continue to use Dji products. I really like them 🙏☺️
From RUclipsr to another - thx you! My channels is mainly interviews, and i have started doing more ride reviews but I'm still learning. You walk thru was excellent. thank you! i subscribed :-)
Looking forward to upgrade to this camera! Great video! The solution with the mini dji mic 2 sounds very tempting, but i'm a bit disappointed in the audio quality :/
I am still using my dji osmo action camera which I bought back in 2020, batteries are fantastic, the camera has never let me down, not going to fix which isn't broken, when it does break, then i'll upgrade it. I also have my two cameras from Insta, the One x2, and the One RS, and my DJI mini 4 pro, Stopped using GoPro because they are crap, they overheat, rubbish battery life and it was hit and miss with corrupting my video footage depending how hot the damn thing got, glad to see you are still using DJI. I think it could have been me that steered you to them 😁
Glad to hear you still enjoy you DJI's 😃 I feel like once you give them a try, there is no going back. But it's all personal preference. I'm curious to see what the heck they will come up with after this camera, like how much better is it physically possible for it to be 😂 So much technology in those little gadgets!
I am not interested in documenting my life but will say I learned a lot about the equipment. 20 min out of my life- not sure how long that is in metric, LOL!!- to learn something new is a good thing in my book. Thanks Runa and B well...
Does the dji mic seamlessly connect to the action 5 when you use quick capture? Not a big issues but sometimes when I don’t want to use my tascam it would be handy
So far, it has been, yes! Even when I leave them both off overnight, turn the mic on in the morning, and use quick capture, it has been connecting right away. Will have to use it more to say for sure that it will continue to work as well 😊 Happy weekend!
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! tried to keep it basic, as there are plenty of videos digging into the nitty gritty details already. Details that are nice, but often don't really matter for this kind of use, in my opinion 😊 Have a good day over there 😃
@OffSheGoesADV Thanks. Your balance is good, your merchandising level is down to earth therefore comforting and to the point for beginners. Good luck with your further journeys.
Hi Runa, as the DJI Mic Mini launched today .. I have another question about the Mic2 ... how good is the internal recording? Do you use it? I need to decide between the Mic2 and the Mini and the main difference is the internal recording. But it complicates a bit the workflow ... trying to understand if the internal recording is worth
Your reviews are great, I've now watchedyour reviewso for the 4 & 5, my question is can I connect my Sena 30k to either camera via Bluetooth & record the conversations? We've had some success with earlier gopro cameras & with a Sena camera but neither have been reliable.
How did you connect two DJI Mic 2 microphones at the same time? I just bought the DJI Mic 2 (with two mics and transmitters) and have read at least the Action 4 doesn’t allow two mics to be connected at the same time. Is this an option on the Action 5 or did you do it another way?
Thank you! 😊 Yes, they do record to the same camera. But they do also record internally, so all the audio files are saved separately in the microphones as well (up until the internal storage is full). A feature I quite like. PS, would greatly appreciate if you'd like to use my affiliate link for your purchase to support future videos 😊 Happy weekend!
Hi Runa, wow you could open your own camera 📷 shop with all of them 😅, I don't have any cameras on my bike or helmet but I'm not a vlogger so don't need them, and don't really know anything about them, Having said that I enjoyed your video, And I thought the 5 was definitely an improvement over the others, your filming I find is impressive and professional, Hope your keeping well, Best wishes from Roy in England 😊.
Hi, Roy! Haha yeah it's adding up 😂 A few kg's of gear and charges and batteries and stuff to carry along that's for sure. Thank you for watching the video even though you're not in the market for a new camera, I'm glad it was still somewhat entertaining 😊 Have a good Thursday over there!
Hello Runa, good review. One question: how do you combine the footage from the helm camera with the camera on your dash. Do you have a system? Or is the time of the footage automatically sorting it together for you in your editing software. Appreciate the answer. Greetings Han (NLD).
Hi, Han! To combine all my footage, I bring them all into the editing software I use (Davinci Resolve). If the date and time is set correctly on both cameras its pretty easy to combine it on the timeline in correct order. The cameras also have a feature called timecode, that you can use to sort all the footage out but that is not something I have tried myself yet 😊 perhaps I should make a video about this whole process sometime too
@ I also switched to DJI and the cameras are so much better than the GoPro. Those are overrated. Good luck with your adventures, I love watching your posts. 🤩
Great video as always. Quick question, does the DJI action camera work alongside the drone in anyway when it comes to editing, do they share the same app?? Also, how do you get along with your 360 X3? Take care
Thank you! 😊 They do work well in the same app, the DJI Mimo app. Very quick to transfer files to my video so I can share the, in my posts/stories on instagram for example at the end of the day while traveling. They in general work very well togehthr, almost like aAple products works very well together too 😊 I enjoy using my 360 for some different angles every now and then, although the editing process is a bit tedious as you have to import them to a different editing software to adjust the footage, export it and import it and then import it to the editing software I use to edit everything else. But so far I think it's worth it! Lot's of features there that I have not tried out yet!
Hey, thank you Runa for the rapid reply. Yeah I concur with your points on the 360, a bit fiddly compared to say GoPro and the Quik App. Hence I thought I’d ask about the DJI app and action cameras and possibly go down that route for next years adventures.
I put the setting on supernight, and that's it! Cause that's what I would do if I was out traveling. This is about the basics, and not having to make too many adjustments to the settings during the day 😊 Hope that makes sense!
@@OffSheGoesADV No, it does not. The grain and distortions only come when the iso needs to go up. Nightmode 30fps have over 50K iso, 60 fps 40K.. A little low light does not use all of the iso, so no way to see how the quality is in real low light. That was my point. Why make a video about it and then no video in dark enough surroundings?
@ I don’t know what kind of surroundings you ride and film in, but I literally filmed riding in a pitched black road with no streets light. I would not be filming myself or anything else just standing in the dark in the middle of no where, hence why I did not include any of that. I didn’t find it relevant. This is about motovlogging, and how I use the gear that I have, with the settings that I use, for my travels. I’m sure there are plenty of general reviews out there showing you what you’re asking for 😊
Good day, Finland 😃 I have received a remote controller but have not tried it yet! From what I've seen and heard from others they perform well and can be handy, but I can't speak of any personal experience 😊
Glad to hear you got a stable bluetooth connection with the DJI mic to the DJI-5 camera. I ordered the DJI mic 2 bundle over labour weekend as it was on sale for $100 less than normal. I have the insta360 One RS camera. DJI mic 2 paired with it does work but I'm finding it will randomly disconnect. Hoping I can solve with firmware upgrade or downgrade. Great insight, thanks.
Sorry to hear about your issues with disconnecting, it's so frustrating having to worry about that while riding! I sure hope this works as good as it seems like with the OA5, and I hope you find a firmware or option that works well for you too! 😊
I want to buy the Action 5 and the moc 2 oe the new mic mini. If i have the djo aftion 5 and oair it with the mic 2 or mini, can i use quick capture? Lets say i pair the action 5 and mic. And i start riding with the camera turned off after pairing and the mic is ON. So if i turn on the camera using Quock Capture while riding, will it automatically connect to the mic? Also, dies the mic stay ON or foes it turn Off after some time of not being connected? If it is in standby or sleep mode, and inturn on the camera with Quock Capture, will it re-establish the connection to the mic?
Hi. I'm a subscriber to Off She Goes in Korea. I'm new to the comments, but this video is of the same interest as you, so I'm going to buy an action cam this time, and it was very helpful. Please always take a lot of safe and beautiful New Zealand videos. I'll always pray for Luna's safety. Bye
I had also a lot of problems with connecting the mic2 to my Osmo 4. Sometimes it worked easily, automatically after switching both on. Sometimes it was difficult to get connected even made all tricks in settings.. pairing etc... But after osmo4 firmware update I think it started to work much better. But I did not have time to test it too much.... but the first feelings were good.
That is great to hear! I have not been using the 4 that much after the latest firmware, since I got the 5, so I have not had time to test that myself either. Its nice to see and hear that DJI makes an effort solving these issues

Hiya Runa- please can you do a video on how you edit your vlogs? What do you use- how do you gather your files from multiple SD cards and stuff like that? X
Wow! Loads of useful info here. Thanks! 😊 Am considering an extra camera/upgrade/better audio and the dji osmo 5 shines. Does the better equipment help/simpify the editing? 🤔😊
Thank you Jeremy, glad you liked it! 😊 Hmm, yes in some way I suppose it does. Nr. 1, I can spend less time fiddling with the audio, trying to use noise reduction to make it sound better for example. Other than that it's pretty much the same!
I’m not sold on DJI. Don’t think I ever will be. I got the 360x3 and it’s just a pain with the app. You have to edit it on the app, then transfer that to your FCP or iMovie and it’s just a pain. And they do NOT hold their value. I spent $400 on it with basic accessories and as soon as the X4 came out, my x3 is barely worth $100 with all the accessories to boot. And I’ve never had any problems with all the GoPros I’ve owned over the decades. I sold a Hero Sessions 5 for $100 more than I paid for it 2 years later. It I like your videos!
The 360 sure is a bit of a pain with editing, and I would not be using that as my only camera! Glad to hear you have had no problems with your gopro's, I hope that continues! 😊 Happy weekend!
Thanks Runa, as a current Go Pro user, I have had similar reliability issues and the DJI is one I'd consider. As someone who still uses a wired mic into the helmet, I like how the GoPro does that with it's media mod. The DJI has the mic on the side so my question is Would you get crackling on the audio with the plug on the side and being in the wind? The DJI wireless option looks nice, so I'd look into that configuration. Thanks again G.
Hey there! 😊 Sorry to hear about your GP issues, that sure is frustrating. I did use the OA4 with a Lavalier mic and the audio adapter for a bit and the audio is fine! I think @nomadsweden uses his OA5 with a Lavalier mic too with good success. The only issue I found with the lavalier with the OA4 was that the delay of recording sound would happen there as well. Even with it plugged in, it could sometimes randomly take 10-15 seconds before it recognized that the mic was plugged in when I turned the camera on. So far that has not been an issue with the 5, but I will keep you guys posted once I have a had a chance to try it out more 😊
@OffSheGoesADV thanks. I'll look out for your next updates.... I did like your use of not having high capacity microSD cards just in case something gets corrupted. I do the same. Thx G
Nice explanation. I myself use the Action 4 with the wireless microphone in my helmet with a separate microphone attached. However, the noise level is far too loud. It cannot be reduced beyond zero. I hear you say you have it at minus 12. Is that new for the Action 5? or am I doing something wrong?
Hi! I did have the option to adjust it to -12 on the OA4 as well. When the microphone is connected, I go to the settings menu, and go to the mic settings. The little mic icon up on the right side where you usually adjust noise reduction. there you should be able to adjust the DB 😊 Hope that helps!
@@OffSheGoesADV Have tried this now and can get to minus 100, but nothing happens. The sound remains just as loud. Strange. So at minus 100, I shouldn't hear anything anymore because the microphone is basically switched off then?
@@krazyklaas1531 Hm, that is strange! This setting is only for input audio, so its sort of making the volume lower before it goes into the video file. it does not change how sensitive the mic itself. Is it the same if you don't have the lav mic hooked up to the mic?
@@OffSheGoesADV yes. No matter, the slider on me from 0 to 100 does nothing at all. I relayed it to DJI in a video the answer I got is that it is not possible to go to a minus. They asked me where I had seen that on YT and passed your vlog to DJI. Nice promotion for you. I will keep you updated and hope it comes in order because it is very annoying when you cannot control the mic in your helmet. Thanks for your interest.
Oh my god, Runa, you have almost sold me a Dji Osmo 5 😅. I defiantly could see a lot of pros compared to my Gopro 7. The step from the Osmo 4 maybe isn’t that large, but from a Gopro 7 it’s a huge upgrade. I cros my fingers and hope that Santa will come to me this christmas, and hopefully I have been kind enough.
Coming from the GoPro 7, you would definitely experience a huge upgrade with this camera! I hope you can experience it for yourself soon, you sure deserve it 🥰
Hi! 😊 Mostly to have smaller file sizes, and I rarely slow down my footage or anything where I need the extra frames. But perhaps I should play around a bit more with other settings too 😊
Interesting video, thank you very much! The Action 4 also has the problem with microphone recognition with USB-C microphones. Sometimes it takes up to 30 seconds for it to be recognised. Very annoying. By the way, I use 2 microphones. One in my helmet and one in the back pocket of my jacket. This means that the engine/exhaust sound is also picked up well. I have connected the whole thing with a RØDE AI-Micro adapter. So I can record each microphone on its own mono audio track and later adjust the volume of the microphones separately or even switch off the speech completely, if you've been talking rubbish :) It's not much more work than usual and makes a great engine sound! You can find examples on my channel. The newer videos (2024) are recorded like this. I am also absolutely convinced of the quality and battery life of the DJI Kamers!
No ND filter, right? I just wanted to confirm it, because I wanna keep it simple and don't really want to use ND filters but was afraid the quality could suffer. You have great video quality and that cinematic feel to it by just using the 25 fps, it seems.

Outstanding review and insight Runa 👏🏼👏🏼👌🏼😎
Thank you, glad you liked it 😃
Love this camera. And the cool thing is DLog can be quickly graded in the app.
Yup! the mimo app is actually great!
Super.. congratulations go ahead🎉
Thank you!
I like what I see! 👍 Will watch the rest (after 8:10) later in the evening.
I'm glad! I quite like these new cameras I have to say, and I hope they keep performing as good as they have been so far
Woww, great video Runa!
Lots of information and very well edited as always 👌👏
Hello from Brazil 🙋♂️🇧🇷😊
Thank you, glad you liked it! 😊
Quite informative video thanks. Those windmuffs glued on the camera microphones are useful for wind noise? Worth doing that?
2 3/4hrs approx. recording at 4k resolution 16:26 What settings get close to the claimed 4 hours recording time?
Cant remember them all, but I think it was 1080p, normal bitrate, 25 fps, all screens turned off while recording 😊
Good equipment is a pleasure to work with, and usually pays for itself by lasting longer.

Well said! And I agree 😊 Have a good day, down there 😃
@OffSheGoesADV : HAHAHA Thanks, you too 👍
Great video, a lot of nice info 😁👌
I'm happy for you to have such a nice colaboration with Dji Europe 💪😉
Keep up the good work and ride safe! ✅
Until then I continue to use Dji products. I really like them 🙏☺️
From RUclipsr to another - thx you! My channels is mainly interviews, and i have started doing more ride reviews but I'm still learning. You walk thru was excellent. thank you! i subscribed :-)
Loving the Arai XD-5 helmet!!
Looking forward to upgrade to this camera! Great video! The solution with the mini dji mic 2 sounds very tempting, but i'm a bit disappointed in the audio quality :/
My next action camera is going to be dji osmo 5
I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do so far!
Great info. Thanx!
Glad you liked it! Happy weekend 😊
Hahah, thank you for watching even though you don't vlog yourself 😃 I always enjoy learning about new things too - gives new perspective on things!
Very informative, thank you LUNA ❤ 🏍️📹
Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
@ yesssss finally, going to order myself 4 right now 👌👌you have a great weekend too

Great review Runa
Thank you! 😊 Fun to create something different every now and then!
Excellent narrator! Midas touch rare! They should be VERY nice to you for presenting their goodies!
Could you do a video on what software you are using and a bit on the workflow as well?
I have been thinking about that, and hope to make something of it over the winter!
Very comprehensive and informative review. Thanks.
Thank you! Hope it was helpful 😊
Great video!
Thank you! Glad you liked it 😄
Thank you for this amazing video ,I was literally looking for this video and you're really pretty
Glad you liked it and perhaps found some useful information! 😊
@OffSheGoesADV 🔥
Great video and review great job
Thank you, Jeff! 😊
Great video, I have 2 x OA5 Pros and I will be buying the DJI Mic 2. Question is... do the two mics record to the same camera?
So inspired🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great job Grydeland.
Thank you, Henry! 😊

Glad to have you here 😃 Have a good day!
That's Runa to much efforts for vlogging.... For us ❤👍😊
I love what I do! 😊
Very good review
Thank you! Glad you liked it 😊
Hello Runa, good review.
They in general work very well togehthr, almost like aAple products works very well together too 😊
I enjoy using my 360 for some different angles every now and then, although the editing process is a bit tedious as you have to import them to a different editing software to adjust the footage, export it and import it and then import it to the editing software I use to edit everything else.
Forgot to ask, when you doing merch?
Why you do not show night video where the low light use all the iso?
I’m sure there are plenty of general reviews out there showing you what you’re asking for 😊
Simple presentation 🎉🎉
Yes, tried to keep it very basic with this one! 😊
Greetings from Finland. Are you using any remote controls for your Osmo's ?? 🤔 If yes, how are these connecting/performing with the multiple cameras ?
Good day, Finland 😃 I have received a remote controller but have not tried it yet! From what I've seen and heard from others they perform well and can be handy, but I can't speak of any personal experience 😊
Kiitos Runa! Hyvä video!👍🏍💐🌸🌹🌼🌷
Glad you liked it! 😊 Have a good afternoon!
@@OffSheGoesADV Kiitos!
Tusind tak! 🙂
Thanks for the very good info, Just looking for a camera. Found you on Noraly's website.

Runa nice thank you lady . 😉👍
I have also upgraded from Dji Action-3 to Action-5
I hope you have enjoyed the upgrade as much as I have 😃
Hiya Runa- please can you do a video on how you edit your vlogs? What do you use- how do you gather your files from multiple SD cards and stuff like that? X
I will work on that over winter! 😊
@ thanks Runa- really like your vlogs and staff shiny side up, rubber side down!
Great video I’ve had it with my GoPro I will definitely be upgrading to the DJI 5
If thanks for the info.
Sorry to hear you've had bad luck with your GP too! Hope you will enjoy the OA5 as much as I do 😊
Thanks Runa, as a current Go Pro user, I have had similar reliability issues and the DJI is one I'd consider.
As someone who still uses a wired mic into the helmet, I like how the GoPro does that with it's media mod. The DJI has the mic on the side so my question is
Would you get crackling on the audio with the plug on the side and being in the wind?
The DJI wireless option looks nice, so I'd look into that configuration.
Thanks again
G.
So far that has not been an issue with the 5, but I will keep you guys posted once I have a had a chance to try it out more 😊
@OffSheGoesADV thanks.
I'll look out for your next updates....
I did like your use of not having high capacity microSD cards just in case something gets corrupted.
I do the same.
Thx
G
@@OffSheGoesADV thanks!
I hope you can experience it for yourself soon, you sure deserve it 🥰
@ Tack 🙏🥰
Hello Luna, Why use 25 fps not 50 or higher? For driving high fps is good i think..
Hi! 😊 Mostly to have smaller file sizes, and I rarely slow down my footage or anything where I need the extra frames. But perhaps I should play around a bit more with other settings too 😊
Veldig bra. Takk skal du ha!
Takk selv! 😊
I have my audio problem with my camera when I put it on helmet. Please help.
Hi! What kind of problem do you have? 😊
So I can record each microphone on its own mono audio track and later adjust the volume of the microphones separately or even switch off the speech completely, if you've been talking rubbish :)
It's not much more work than usual and makes a great engine sound!
You can find examples on my channel. The newer videos (2024) are recorded like this.
I am also absolutely convinced of the quality and battery life of the DJI Kamers!
That is a great way to do it, very nice to be able to remove speach alone, I do talk a lot of rubbish that gets edited out 😂
No ND filter, right?
I just wanted to confirm it, because I wanna keep it simple and don't really want to use ND filters but was afraid the quality could suffer. You have great video quality and that cinematic feel to it by just using the 25 fps, it seems.
Beautiful dangle mount what a name I want that
Hahaha 👏
Good job & good aqupmant
Thank you! I like it a lot so far 😊
