Action 4 has to be the finest action cam out. Love that it streams while recordng to your phone. Something GoPro stopped after the 8.

Good and helpful video Shawn. Just taken delivery of mine to upgrade from the OA3. Is just a shame that the ND lens screw mount does not allow the ones i had for the OA3 to be used. Will need to buy a full replacement set! Both cameras look the same except for the lens filter screw size. A very marginal difference. Hadn't picked that up before.

One question I have been searching unsuccessfully for is if the Action 4 has AE Lock (Exposure Lock) wherein you can select an area on screen and lock exposure?
I just want to add that nothing is "water proof" they are water RESISTANT up to 60ft (18m) only if the lens cap is on tight and battery door shut properly. any deeper you need the dive case that is good for 197ft (60m) if I remember the numbers correct. Main point is some people get confused due to marketing saying water proof or water resistant and not making a standard saying and causing people to damage equipment due to negligence of actual manual reading for products. Over all great review and enjoy the videos, they are super helpful.

Very nice tips! I was unsure whether I should watch yet another OA4 video explaining how to set resolution, framerate and other basic stuff ... because it's rather self-explanatory. But instead this turned out to be quite useful. I tend to never read manuals, so I would have missed changing the screen off time while recording ... Thanks!

Shawn, what settings would you recommend for low light shooting like Night POV Street. Mostly regarding ISO and Denoise.

Aloha~ after doing researching i have decided to drop GP,i have had 9,10 &12 and was not happy,,,after many studies esearhes changing settings same old problems so no more GP for me, Now i got my eyes on action4 i am very interested in low light/night shooting mode...wish me luck w/action4 lol Mahalo!
What does the portrait setting do in the image adjustment section?
Any tips on what settings to use for videoing small objects? I just bought one for Metal Detecting and no matter what I do I can't get it to focus on the objects.
I returned back my djji Osmo pocket 3 and purchased dji Osmo action 4 instead which is much more versatile, does the same things as Osmo pocket 3 AND MORE and it is also WATERPROOF which is a huge deal for me as I do a lot of underwater filming as well. I am also not a big fan of the mechanical gimbal on a handheld camera because it doesn't seem to follow well all the time and it is too fragile. I would recommend the Dji Osmo ACTION 4 adventure package! It's cheaper than Pocket 3 and offers lot more! I it is just a better deal all around!
Can you charge the battery in camera while filming or run off an external battery?

It's related to the reduction of image noise (due to low light and high sensitivity of the sensor), not related to audio, if that's what you are unsure about. With current firmware, the noise reduction is settable in the same [-2,+2] range as the sharpness. It's a matter of taste, I chose -2 for sharpness and -1 for NR.
I was sure you were/are a GoPro. That being said, it seems timing of Action 4 release, was intended to get the jump up on The GoPro 12. Can’t wait to see a comparison. Great job, Sean!! As always.

Hello I just bought the camera. I like it, how do you keep the screen on the whole time? Why you are videoing so it doesn't go black. I mean so I can be doing my videos, I mainly do it for my RUclips channel. I love the camera and my also, my GoPro channel. I want to keep the screen on while I am videoing without having to touch. It is your way you can do that. Thank you

What do you mean camera lens?

@@clau.iglesias.trujillo you should be aware that if you remove the front lens cover of dji or go pro your camera would no longer be waterproof. That staff gave you wrong information.
Tip 2a when you take the lens cover off you get better lowlight performance

1:40 what's new redesigned ones?
Would you use Rock Steady or Rock Steady +? I’m confused by the difference and not sure which to use for a majority of my shots.
Rocksteady plus will give you an extra layer of stabilization little smoother, but it is more Cropped in. Most of the time I use just regular rocksteady I find it works very well.
can you use the mic that came with the osmo pocket 2 do it all handle with this?

Thanx for the great video. One question please: You gave a tip about image adjustment, but in my OA4 this option simply doesn't exist. Instead, I have only 3 options, not 4, with the image adjustments option missing. Is there a software upgrade I need to do, or what?

Just bought an Action 4. I’ll never buy another GoPro. Idk why I’ve been dealing with their issues for so long. Nomas!
What can you tell me about downloading the app. Are their security issues with it? Looks like they are trying to ban dji drones. Are cameras next?
So when I am recording video how do I pause and unpause recording? I don't want to start and stop. Looks like the function is not available, but it would be nice to be able to pause and unpause.
That feature is not available. You can always stop and start recording.
Would you suggest waiting for the GoPro 12?
Perhaps it would not be a bad idea. It’s probably only 3 to 4 weeks away.
Shawn, can you confirm if the ND filters for the Original Osmo Action, fit the Action 4?

Any tips to have smaller FOV? I hate that it’s so wide and make things in front much smaller, losing quality when cropped.
Put it in Linear with the maximum stabilization enabled, will really crop it in. Plus you can use the digital zoom, but it will degrade the quality a bit.

My Action 3 suffers from being slightly blurred. Have they fixed this in Action 4? Meanwhile my Action 3 is in a drawer marked "ramell".

Using the gps Bluetooth remote has anyone figured out how to add gps telemetry data into your videos?
I’m still waiting to get one, but I do plan on testing it thoroughly and getting everything figured out once I can get my hands on it
