I feel SO horrible for his defense attorney. She happened to be assigned to defend a guy that molested and assaulted countless young women… while being a woman herself. I wouldn’t doubt this messed with her mental health as well- hats off to her for doing a job most others couldn’t

A defense attorney is there to guide the defendant to the process, because the process is sophisticated and complex and adversary so it is way to easy to convict somebody innocent without an attorney. The defense attorney is needed to sentence somebody, else one could say he was innocent but just wasn't able to defend oneself properly. Because of that a defense attorney who does his job badly is a terrible thing, becaude you leave room for speculation. Therefore one could say a defense attorney helps to get you convicted, by robbs you of any excuses because he tries to come up with all excuses.

She probably hoped she would never meet someone who deserved such a thing, she seems to be a genuinely kind person who hopes for the best in the world. I'm glad she didn't show him any leniency but I feel bad for her because it's almost like she had to lose something in herself to uphold the law in this case. It just shows how much damage one man can do, it ripples outward and touches everyone. I hope he never sees the light of day again and I hope this can be something that his victims and the attorneys and judge can eventually move on from.

Defence lawyers don’t always believe their client is innocent. Nor do they usually want to see their client get an acquittal. Their job is really to make sure the state dots their I’s and crosses their T’s to make certain that the defendant truly deserves to go to jail.
They’re also to make certain the innocent don’t do time for a crime they never committed. Detectives and prosecutors do occasionally get it wrong sometimes.
