I support Aly in making a strong confident impact statement. However, in general, I think that impact statements should only be addressed to the court, just as witnesses are restricted to addressing the court, and not the defendant. In my opinion, an impact statement should be just that: how the victim/victim's family have been impacted. It's about court procedure.

This was so powerful I cried. My daughter is in junior Olympics with USAG with high hopes of going far. But when/if she is at the elite level and asked to join a nat'l training center away from home, I'm moving to that city with her and will be present at every doctor's appt. I won't let my daughter go through what these brave women encountered. Not a chance. I don't know why their parents dismissed the issue when the reports were being shared. I can't imagine not believing my daughter.

She rightfully eviscerates everyone who enabled this abhorrent abuse, and I applaud her for continuing to speak out about it. Luke Williams obviously she is protected by the officers, but keep in mind how brave what she’s doing is. Being sexually abused especially at a young age especially by someone in a power position, is something you never truly get over. I’m sure that for her and the other survivors that what they went through has changed them for life. some of these girls never told their parents about it, because they were told do keep silent not only by nassar but by many other adults who were a part of USAG. Nassar groomed them from a very young age, abusing children as young as six years old. sometimes, when you're told long enough that something is normal it becomes harder to speak about it with other people, some of these girls could sense that something very wrong was being done to them but everyone around them kept telling them it was "normal". it's why aly is so angry not only with nassar but with those around her that knew about it but allowed it to happen anyway, such as USOC and USAG

Being sexually abused especially at a young age especially by someone in a power position, is something you never truly get over. I’m sure that for her and the other survivors that what they went through has changed them for life. After what they went through I’m sure that they had trust issues, and it’s probably something that still haunts them every day. some of these girls never told their parents about it, because they were told do keep silent not only by nassar but by many other adults who were a part of USAG. Nassar groomed them from a very young age, abusing children as young as six years old. sometimes, when you're told long enough that something is normal it becomes harder to speak about it with other people, some of these girls could sense that something very wrong was being done to them but everyone around them kept telling them it was "normal". it's why aly is so angry not only with nassar but with those around her that knew about it but allowed it to happen anyway, such as USOC and USAG
