I was worried for a minute there that Doug was only wearing a single T-shirt… thankfully to my delight, that glorious white line of the under shirt shown through at the collar. All is right with the world.
Thats how we will know if someone deep fakes Doug. The second T-Shirt will be missing as an AI would be unable to compute the reason to wear it.

Wow, the design and surfacing is incredible. Tight panel gaps, almost no visible cutlines, the way the rear quarter panel wraps around to meet the trunk is amazing! The rear side glass just magically meets every other surface and has no visible C or D pillar. That’s cool. Restrained, elegant, monolithic. I love it.
Beautiful description. Or as Apple would say: the most singular car we've ever created.
Two words: Kia Telluride
@@439530 Two words: Errr no.
Yep, the epitome of an elegant sufficiency.
I can see this selling really well; doesn't matter what model you choose, they're all equally classy. Buy the cheapest one, still looks like the most expensive one. Buy the most expensive one, it is the most expensive one in so many ways that matter, but no one else can really tell.
It's exactly the kind of thing that could cause a buyer class inversion. Perhaps people who can afford it will stretch a bit and buy the expensive one, and perhaps those who can really, seriously afford it will actually buy the cheaper one. Both sets will be equally happy (assuming that it doesn't break down...).
Having worked a lot with these cars, let me tell you: these tight panel gaps are probably only on the pre production car. I've rarely seen a new Range Rover that was actually properly built, including panels being placed so poorly, they dragged on the body.
I've even seen leaking tailgates, because they weren't properly fitted.
At that price point, there are much better built vehicles-just none at that form factor.
Be sure to check it has a bumper-to-bumper warranty
You’ll be using that warranty more then you thought, it’s a Range Rover
The OGs remember Doug’s warranty
Yeah from Front bumper to front bumper...
Feel like Capt. America in Avengers "I understood that reference"
CarMax definitely won't be offering extended full warranties on this car.
The way they’ve done the glass concealing the pillars and making it look seem less is amazing. No idea why other manufacturers haven’t done this.
Plenty of manufacturers have done this. Look at the Nissan Cube rear exterior vs interior
Yeah that's actually pretty normal but it is a cool idea nonetheless
Mini
ford did it with the ford probe
Because it's not necessary and is the reason why cars today are so expensive for wages.
I read a RangeRover review many years ago, they mentioned that the controls for the driver had been made chunky so that the driver and front passenger could operate the climate controls and infortainment even if they were wearing gloves. I suspect the same is the case with this new model, having a centre screen that responds to actual pressure applied rather than being a touchscreen.
Why would they be wearing gloves?

Great review, lovely motor!! Thou looks more like a facelift of the current model than a new one.
Can we just appreciate how beautifullly symmetrical the under the hood arrangement looks! Nice job RV
I think leaving out "built in apps" is a good choice: those apps tend to age really fast. It's not very luxurious to have a netflix app that says "cannot connect" before the car is two years old.
Definitely. I'm guessing they pushed HDMI for stuff like Google, Roku, Apple TV, or Fire Sticks, so you're not constrained to a proprietary/partnered system, great idea in my book.
They just update the software bruh
@@tanyanabess5544 App support doesn't last long on other stuff aside from phones.
why do you think they don't update OTA?
I know Land Rover could update the apps but will they? Cars last longer than phones and would need at least 10 years of updates which means the computer running infotainment system would have to be really beefy to be able to handle future apps.
It comes standard with the check engine light already on. So you don’t have to wait for it later on.

Personally, I prefer Range Rover’s evolutionary approach in design. Like a Porsche 911, it’s an icon and it’s too risky to mess up a well-loved formula. It’s an identity that loyal buyers and fans easily recognize. Love to see their move towards minimalism as well. Makes it beautiful and it’ll undoubtedly age nicely like fine wine just like its predecessors. Overall, it’s a beautiful car with simple, minimalistic design and I love it!😍
But they literally changed the whole rear end honestly they could’ve redesigned the front end to it doesn’t make sense it’s like a 20 year old with a 50 year old face 😂😂
@@Tm0n3y762 Indeed the rear has the most massive makeover. Sure, they could’ve done major changes up front as well, but for now the redesign is spot on for me.🙂
Umm range rovers don't age beautifully like wine, they collect dust in the mechanics shop
I wish they would have taken this approach from Discovery 4 to 5. The D5 looks awful from the rear.
Disagree, its vile that after 10 years this is what they give us. Its a Kia lmao.
Nothing on earth comes close to a Range Rover. Have had four over the years , covered hundreds of thousands of miles, crossed Europe dozens of times. Never had a single issue and never gave another car a second glance. Simply put. Perfection.
Ive had a 2006 L322 RR for almost 4 years - lots of repairs needs some love. brand new trans. I've hopped in and driven newer rentals cars, they still feel like toys or half assed in comparison. New Defender is looking sexy for offroad

A solution to door handles freezing closed in the cold… have traditional door handles that don’t require popping out.
Luxury car buyers don’t want old-fashioned door handles any more, and the flush handles contribute to the ultra clean design.
There are some ways around the door handles freezing. They basically vibrate. When you unlock it and break any ice off. Normally the door handles are the last thing to freeze on them.
But how fast can one possibly go w/o minimizing all that door-handle drag? 😂😂
No I’d rather have the normal handles
@@CaptainFox23 That's theory. In reality, in rover's implementation, it won't work.
I'm amazed at all of the car companies including "Rock Crawl" modes in the drive selectors. Who takes a $105,000 family 3-row luxury SUV rock crawling? And does it really need its own mode?
Yep, it’ll get scratches and dings in seconds. Not to mention the risk of crunching the body panels should it tip over while rock crawling. Yikes-I would never.
you have a basic misunderstanding of the difference in wealth between the middle class ($50 grand a year) and upper middle class ($250 grand a year). Not to mention those who are actually wealthy.
Just cause you won't doesn't mean nobody else will, particularly in other countries where roads aren't so great and Rovers get real use. It's just software anyways, so might as well have it rather than not!
One argument is if your paying that much it better have it.
