For me, the styling of the Range Rover blows every other SUV out of the water. I just love the mix of materials, colours and design of the vehicle inside and out. The integration of tech is really well done - looks cutting edge without dominating the interior. JLR have done a fantastic job in producing a beautiful looking vehicle inside and out. I only hope they are serious about sorting out their image for unreliability and poor customer service as that will torpedo the cars chances at this price point if they aren't. If I had the budget and was in the market for a large SUV, this would get my money over anything else. Stunning car. Great review as well by the way ! :o)
Rich people still buy them regardless. They want something different. But yea let’s hope they’re more reliable. I had a pile of repair receipts on my sport
The people who buy Range Rovers are not bothered about reliability , they are buying the image and go to the best places anywhere in the world you always see a Range Rover, Knocks everything else out of the Park. The more expensive it gets the better to be seen driving one.
I’m a person that has bought 2 in the last 15 years. I care about reliability, it’s a misconception that people that have money and can afford repairs don’t care. Yes , when the Range Rover acts up I can just take another car we have - but who likes to be inconvenienced? Even if the repair is under warranty and they fix it for free I paid for a car I don’t get to drive . I like the look and might wait till it’s full electric. Maybe then with less moving parts it would be more reliable -I would give it another try.
My father and I both happened to be out in the countryside with brand new vehicles a few years ago: his a Land Cruiser, mine a Discovery4. He was teasing me about all the reliability issues I'd have. I didn't have a single failure of any kind in the 4 years I owned it. His broke down that first day. Was hilarious
Surly Audi and the like are more RR Sport competition, the full fat RR especially in 350D seems good value , my experience with last two Range Rovers has been outstanding over 50.000 miles
Cars are great, dealerships are unresponsive and simply do not answer questions. The JLR management are a nightmare. The only reason we as a family are considering this company is the detail of the designers.
It doesn’t matter if there’s a good warranty if the dealer network cannot cope with volume of service issues affecting the sold fleet. Recent experience has included waiting 5 weeks to have a warranty issue looked at. This is unacceptable for a £100k car. Only buy a JLR car if you have at least one other (non-JLR) car in your car fleet.
this car is for rich people that want to enjoy luxury and not middle classed that can simply not afford to keep its highly delicate instruments in service. this one also has not been proven to be unreliable
The most luxurious, comfortable UNRELIABLE SUV's in the world. The only reason Land Rover doesn't spend any time on reliability is that their customers upgrade every year and have a 3 year warranty anyway. It's when these enter the 2nd hand market that they suffer from reliability issues and become money pits to their new owners. I should know, I used to own one. When it ran 100%, it was truly an amazing thing to drive and be in. When it went wrong, you got stranded at the side of the road and placed on a flat truck back to the dealer. But I can't believe that in saying all that, I still love them.
2nd hand values impact the new purchaser badly. If a vehicle is worth almost nothing (LR has the lowest resale values of any mainstream vehicles these days) that pushes up the 3 year cost, so driving all but the richest or most foolish away. After 2 Range Rovers and a Discovery - I now drive a Audi. The unreliability just got ridiculous.
That touch screen entertainment system lets the cockpit design down immensely. It Looks as if it was a design afterthought and a bolt on iPad. I’m sorry but on a £100,000 + car it is not acceptable!
Remember when buying a landrover, rangerover or jaguar new or used you will be dealing with a used car salesmen. The brand may display “high class” and point you to something you need, arguably want. Well the designers and engineers have done their job,,,, because lots of people want one,,,, I get it. The reality is, as mentioned the franchises across the country are unresponsive, don’t write anything down and definitely will not answer written questions. JLR management are the evolution of used car salesmen,,, who feel far more self important and have simply moved through the ranks, nothing more,,, other than they wear more expensive suits as opposed to the day to day used car salesman, other than that it’s difficult to spot them. Do not be confused by the suit look at the lines on the forehead,,,,, that’s the tell tale sign of the sleepless nights, ultimately they are still and will remain “used care salesmen” and will sell you whatever they have handy. The point I’m trying to make is, unless you are royalty in which case we as tax payers will sort the vehicle out for you. If your on the TV, then for sure you will need to display your wealth. If however you are a normal person wanting to have something that will or make you feel a million dollars try anything outside of the JLR brand, as it’s likely to run and feel better,,, and you’ll not need to deal with people who will take advantage of you. And if you are feeling patriotic and want to support the British car industry,,,,,remember this is an Indian company., nothing wrong with Indian companies at all. But like buying a Mac Donald’s burger,,,, up the road in the UK,,,, it’s an American company.
In historic context the 6 second to 60 for the lowest powered diesel is incredible, you would have to tune and bore the crap out of a Rover V8 and probably not get that
Even with the 3 year unlimited mileage warranty. There's still chance Range Rover won't honour that warranty anyway. The car is amazing, but their service is terrible.
3 year unlimited mileage warranty is a joke just like Land Rover's reliability, durability and build quality. I mean come on this very Range Rover already has speaker issues @ 14:25 🤣
That screen looks like it's too large and has been attached with velcro, not very impressive. It should match the dimensions of the dashboard - bonkers, just like the presenter's sleeve changing colour mid shot. Great?!
Hello. I have been asking if there’s or expecting 2022/23 Range Rover SV short wheelbase. I want to purchase this vehicle but I prefer the SV short wheelbase as I’m not a fan of a long vehicle. Thanks!
RR's do always seem to come out poorly in customer satisfaction survey's, so you're paying for the name and the luxury, but not the reliability. JLR really need to up their game on that front, but I'm sure they'll sell these Chelsea tractor's by the bucket load to those with the money - you'll certainly see lots of these outside private London school's in the morning!
Being a poor pleb who can only dream of a new R. Rover, it amazes me how nonchalant they seem to be with their poor reputation. Granted, not all the bad press is deserved, but surely there could be a team somewhere within the organisation - set up with the sole purpose of correcting faults BEFORE the car enters production? Or are we seeing planned obsolescence taken too far?
As far as I can see, it's hurting their bottom line, especially internationally, so I don't think it's planned. 🤣 I think they have an inefficient testing/production strategy which isn't catching/dealing with customer-facing problems before the cars roll out of the factory.
