    I had the same problem on a 2019 ambulance at 25,000 miles. The dealer tech did the tsb, replaced the core and put a new egr valve and mass air flow sensor on it. This took 2 months. What fixed it? Cleaning the intake ports you showed!!!! In addition we also had a plugged ccv filter. I now replace the ccv filter every 15000 miles, when it starts using oil i know it is plugged! I don't know if a plugged ccv filter is a contributing factor? But it can't be good to plug the ccv filter and start drinking oil! With a good ccv filter there is zero oil usage. Keep in mind this is on an ambulance with excessive idle time. I can't change the way it's used. Thanks for highlighting this issue! It is an easy fix.

Updated pcm programming, tested all wiring, even cleaned the ports in the intake where ERG flows, now today we replaced the EGR valve… that’s what diagnosis told us to do….. am I missing something…. ?? Thanks for the videos…. They have helped me in our shop.

    After your videos in the past about this, I cleaned that area out along with the butterfly flap when changing the CAC tube at 100k for preventative maintenance. That was one dirty and nasty job!! I wasn’t having problems but feels good to have it clean and work as intended. I also replaced the MAP sensor since it was plugged and cleaning it did not work. Regens happen less now and it sure made the truck seems smoother / more responsive. You rock! Seems like a good thing to check on.

    The MAF is also used for limiting the total amount of fuel to be injected. Lambda is calculated based on the MAF data and converted into g/s of airflow. grams of air mixed with grams of fuel = X lambda.

    • @PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod
      @PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod  Год назад +1

      The MAF here, on these...does not make those calculations, strickly for EGR friend

      @JaegerWrenching Год назад +1

      @@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod You're right, this specific video you are calculating EGR flow based on the decrease in MAF or Mass air flow. I'm simply saying the MAF is used for calculating the total available airflow to be burned which ultimately is lambda limiting. If you still don't believe me I'd be more than willing to talk/prove it to you! Cheers!

    I think this exactly the problem I'm having. Mine is 17 model, got the light, took off the throttle body which was caked up like the one your working on. I cleaned it and vacuumed up the material. Engine light went out for awhile then came back on. I didn't see those ports you pointed out so I will recheck to make sure they are clear. This started when I noticed the intercooler hose split. Will the engine code light go off if cleaning those ports out is the problem or do I need to have a reset. Thanks this was a really helpful video

    I had P0401 on my daily driven (commuter in SoCal) 2019 F250 6.7 around 45K mileage. Drivability was weird, loss of power and response in light throttle driving, still performed normally at higher throttle driving, Mpg suffered and transmission would not lockup converter at light throttle conditions. I cleaned MAP sensor with acetone soak and delicate q-tip agitation, cleared code. Drivability improved to good as new for 5K miles. Same code came back at 50K mileage, took to dealer and they recalibrated the PCM and cleared code. At 55K mileage drivability issues resurfaced. I cleaned MAP sensor again and drivability was restored to as new. No code has displayed since PCM updated. Very annoying that MAP clogs so quickly. Going to try S&B MAP spacer next with a new sensor next time drivability issue resurfaces.

    We daily a 16 for now since we RV and when we are working, the tow pig is our 2nd daily driver. So it seems more lower speed daily driver usage and then occasionally highway use.
    I do use EDT in the fuel every fill up but that's a CP4 concern helper more than anything.

They are now going to replace the egr valve on my 2017 SUPERDUTY with only 4600 miles on it. When I first took it in it was still under the 5 year emission warranty now it's over the warranty and they are going to bill me over one thousand dollars to replace the egr and I don't know if this will fix the problem, not too happy. Will be contacting Ford .ca shortly.
