Our ids at the shop has some hiccups but can get r done after a few attempts. May need an update. Thanks for the informative video of the emissions garb . 👍🏻
so my truck sat for a few months. i replaced the batteries and topped off the fuel tank and recived this code. hoping i can fugure it out soon. great video!
The pipe thickness around the Nox sensor looks really thin. I know Ford tries to save weight but as hot as that area gets it should be thicker material there. Great video man thanks...
That is some thin gauge exhaust mtrl.....junk./.........Ford WTF..? Weld job ok bud!..
Great stuff like always!
Thanks pal
Great content ARod!
Thanks pal
Think I just ran into this myself have a new lower intake coming tomorrow
YOU RULE!
Stellar repair in my book, saved the ultra expensive pipe also diagnosed the correct component! Complete pain in the ass welding that in while its installed in the vehicle.
Thanks pal!!!!
Great video I have a P0191 on a 2012 F450 I changed the fuel filters and my low pressure is 60 static and my dynamic is 55 and I wiggle the fuel pressure harness and the engine wanted to shut off.
Very good video as always ARod. Whats the going price for that repair. This time I didn't fall asleep in my chair. Thanks ARod
Always enjoy your videos. Just an FYI with welders that sit awhile, purge the hose to get the fresh shielding gas in the hose. Cleaner the material the better the weld with mig and tig, some stick welding is much more forgiving. Keep up the great work.
Yea that 1 was ruff😬😔
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod NEW TO THE CHANNEL GREAT CONECTENT THANK YOU
DO YOU HAVE A DO ANY PROGRAMING AFTER REPLACING MODULE AND SENSOR OR ANY PROCIDURE THANKS
Hey thanks, youll have 2 email us.
Good vid my man. Lol I welded in an attempted theft cut on the exhaust before and it looked like death. But guess what... it didn’t leak anymore!
😂🤣😅
Just did the same thing. Bung also broke welded it back on
Hmmmmm interesting! This reminds me of the day I found out that you can buy new electrical pigtails. I wonder how many times I needed to replace a bung or something that I didn't think I could buy new. Happy Father's Day all you Dad's out there!!
Happy fathers day
Came up for 3rd time yesterday. The last “fix” was a reflash and clean of nozzle.
🤔🤔
Oh Arod you were flexing on us with the stuff about knowing you didn't have any wire brakes based on the DTCs present (pretty sweet too be honest), but then you showed us your welding. Can't have it all I guess. Awesome video as always glad you brought us along.
🤦♂️🤦♂️ i knw bud i knw
Great video, love the content... Awesome knowledge and I'm learning a lot... BUT, nothing about that weld looks good (Just say'n)....
🤣🤣🤣🤣💯💯💯
2021 f250 just walked dealer through what needs to be done they had no idea thank you
Omggggg
Awesome video. Those repairs right there make me happy that I diag/repair these trucks and don't own one (diesel truck)
Granted if I did, step #1 would be delete all of the emissions stuff. A person can still get away with that living up here in Alaska.
Greeetings to Alaska
🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ christ i knew it was one of you 😭😭🙉🤝🤝🤝 better than 5k exhaust cuz u knw i cant delete em💯
PowerStroke Tech Talk w/ARod 😂 it’s all good....welding on exhaust isn’t that crucial anyways. As long as it holds up to the vibration and all you need is two of those tacks to be sufficient for that so those are fairly good odds. Lol Hey, the good news is you can only get better!! Lmao. Saving him that exhaust money is what’s important!
😉😉😉😉
Im a tech at a ford fleet center and its always cool to see another techs approach to diagnosing different concerns. I have a 12 f450 with p207f. It had soot out of the tailpipe. I thought i could put it in regen after other repairs i did, r&r turbo, broken exh man studs and some other stuff, because i thought it had put out higher emissions due to the other concerns with the turbo etc. Still set p207f. No circuit problems. Replaced the nox sensor, did not replace module. Set p207f after maybe 20miles. Do you think replacing the module will fix it?? I dont have much experience with nox sensor concerns and i dont know what pids i can watch to monitor operation of the nox sensor etc. I have had a hell of a time trying to learn about operation of this sensor LoL thanks!!
🤙🤙
Welding tips and tricks has a ton of great videos on you tube. The best teacher is experience, you just have to do it. A short stick out is key, gas shielding looks better than flux core, and make sure your polarity is right. I would put some tacks to hold it and weld from tack to tack. I’m starting to get nervous when your videos come out. Every time you have a new one one of our trucks come in with the same codes on it. I just had this one on a 2016 a week ago but it went out before it went into derate. Do those modules need to be programmed or is it just a reset of learned parameters.
Yepp you are correct, no programmy. Yes practice makes perfect, thanks 4 being nice 😉. Dont be scuured its only......a 6.7 hahahah
PowerStroke Tech Talk w/ARod everyone starts somewhere I’ve seen some welds that looked like those rocks that used to be in the old gas grills. Welders are pretty critical of other people’s welds I’ve come to notice. It’s the live version of the I’m so awesome because I weld t-shirts. Thank you for your videos, there very helpful for a guy without factory training. I don’t have ids or identifix or Mitchell so I have to figure out the repairs with what I find online.
Hell yeah bud 😉🤝👍
Rocks in the ol gas grills....😭😭😭
@@JasonTheMunicipalMechanic those "rocks" in " old grills" are called charcoal. And yes, people around the world cook with it every day. Some even say it makes the food taste better than when cooked over propane. Crazy huh?? 😂😂😂
Seems like 90% of the problems on these trucks is the emissions. Makes me glad that I dont have that crap anymore. The engine in these trucks is solid!!
Yea for real.. It's making diesel not worth it any more
Anyone that has gone after this code will understand the pain in the ass it is to diagnose. I’ve most commonly found it to be the NOx2 module. But I’ve also had DEF injector issues from pin fitment to dosing problems.
We put nox 12 in all of our p207f codes and a lot of other parts, how do you confirm the repair? What should nox be doing on a road test on 11-12 my, dosent really say anywhere??
Another great video,
What i hate about the ford is the warning chimes, Can the warning chimes be turned off?
Noooo. Wish tho
So I had the same thing. Pop-up on my after 3:50 power stroke. And I talked to the mechanics at my work, who are diesel, mechanics. And they say the reason that happens is because the truck is not ran hard enough. You need to put those trucks underneath load. Make them work for the money. It's a way to self regan your truck
....I can agree with that however a P207F usually shows up a bad part once pin point tests are done
Come down to fun town bud, Bobby will give ya some free welding lessons on the 210MP Lincoln.
Nice repair though, man, it still blows me away with how much the computer is needed these days to fix a car/truck.
Lessons much needed hahaha
Just did this an still have this code so I believe it’s the def pump but no longer the nox sensor code so going in the right direction
Ummmm no sir
This code is going to drive me insane. I've had my 16 since new 91k and does get used just dont drive it everyday. Well maintained, always use motorcraft def. Ford replaced exhaust twice already for the same code. Had pcm recall done last September but the recall doesn't cover P207f. Sorry about venting but it makes me want to just sell it and go by a 6.0 or 7.3 with no emissions. If it wasn't for the dpf system I would have absolutely no complaints with this truck she tows like a beast and plows awesome.
Sounds like you need to come see me or goto another dealer. The DPF doesnt cause a P207F by itself
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod if I wish you were a little closer. I definitely appreciate all your videos. The fact you take time out of your day to share is impressive.
🙏🙏🙏
Good information. I have a 16 Ford F350 w/6.7. Only 27 and change thousand original miles. Not running rough at all with "check engine" light. Idle is smooth. No soot in tail pipe. Def tank 1/2 full. No indication of any problems and no reduced power. Code set is P207F PCM Power Control Module - Reductant Quality Performance.
I see REAR and FRONT NOX SENSOR WARRANTY EXTENSION under Ford Recalls/Ford Owner Support online account, but, have no idea how long the warranty extension applies, or, even if relevant to my situation. Dealer says it'll be at least 2 weeks before they can even look at it.
Bummer.
Tuff code to diag
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod As it turns out...Took it to the Ford Dealership. It was caused by the diesel exhaust emissions reduction filter. It was plugged with soot evidently. It is covered by the emissions warranty, but, the filter is in short supply. I was told the expected wait is 3 to 4 months.
Jusr finished one,waited 7
dobber if it goter done good nuff
What program are you using to do all the test ..we have ids but I don’t see all these tests
I've seen the replace subsystems and don't unplug on new stuff with new problems as the material analysts want to verify connection integrity, etc. When Ford dropped the module-sensor pair replacement for factory paid repairs did replacing only NOx sensor cause comebacks if module was not also changed?
Yes & no. Since these things came out, more so for 12 to CMY, rule of thumb....nox sensor r&r better get u a module to-Had an engineer tell me out the back dough, NVR did just the sensors do both.....
Not bad...
How many have stopped up egr coolers
??
Great video! Just wish you demonstrated how you got the vehicle out of derate. I’m fighting a 2015 F350 with P207F at the shop currently.
...i have playlists that have otjer videos in it for that.....
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod I will take a look around. Again, awesome videos! Thank you for taking the time to share your craft!
@rc4life128 You need some holler
I cleared this with the omb fixed in two minutes
Sorry ARod, that background music was really annoying.
Skip it, see ya next week
Transmission replacement eskip giars 2 tu 5 2011 6.7 for pager trok
How much would this cost to repair ?
What scan tool is that?
Can anybody tell me on the Ford IDs scan tool under engine codes. What does ODDTCs and CMDTCs stand for and mean. Thank you to who ever responds and thank you for the videos
So continuemous DTCs are fault codes that are stored during the drive cycle, on demand DTC's are electrical faults that are currently present right now there is a fault existing currently
So I’ve worked at the ford dealer for 4 years back right when the 6.7 was released. I’m currently at a shop with limited but decent diagnostic equipment. I know my way around a 6.7 pretty decently and have been seasoned in repairing them for about 10years now. Im somewhat known as the 6.7 magician 😂😂Can you give me a brief but detailed explanation of what I should be seeing from the front and rear n0x sensors on live data From the 16 models with 2 sensors. Obviously there should be less ppm from the rear as opposed from the front, but is there a spec of how much and when the egr is in action. I work with pro demand and it doesn’t exactly give you specific number to follow. The last truck I had in was pretty close to to the suspecting point of a burnt out catalyst but everything looked clean and tidy with a bore scope, no excess oil ingestion, clean egr, decently low idle hrs verses operating hrs. I went through the basic visual and electrical fault isolation and reductant tests. No issues found. I can run the truck on jack stands and manually remove it from idle mode but it only lasts about 3 days before it falls right back in to 5mph limit.
Powerstroketechtalkwarod@gmail.com
Have the p207f and the only thing i noticed wierd was the egr temp sensor reads -40 degrees. Shop replaced the sensor. Still reads the same. I also have a a code p0625 generator field. Any ideas ??
Sensor supposed to. Pcm doesnt look at it. Id suggest them going thru the correct pinpoint test for P207F
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod Thanks for your help.
What system is that u have , I like those biocontrol system ? It seems easy monitor that way
IDS
Is new ids ? Or probably dealer
Dealer
That is one monumentally pain in the ass DTC to diagnose. I've had more than my share of those coming in. And the majority of the trucks I've had, ended up needing the SCR catalyst replaced. Only ONE truck I had, did replacing both NOx sensors repair the truck successfully. I very recently had a Transit coming in, with that DTC set that I replaced the NOx sensors on. Came back in on the hook the next day with P207F set again. Like the other trucks, replacing the SCR catalyst fixed it.
Like one commenter said, "control ALT, delete"
Michel I have a 2012 F450 6.7 and it has a code P0191 I wiggled the harness on the sensor and the truck wanted to shut off and did it again and it stop doing it.
If you just clear the code to have the check engine light off would it still be just the module and the sensor?
U need to follow the pin point test
I see 2 nox sensors after the scr one right after scr one 2 feet downstream from it ? Are there 2 post scr nox sensors or ? Its a 2015 6.7 powerstroke
Pm sensor and 2 nox sensors
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod ahh ok thanks.
Just curious...
Did you disconnect the batteries before the welding?
I was wondering the same thing. I'm going to say no.
No this isnt the body shop
At the 3:40 mark when running RD7, it looks like you're running the test from PC/ED page. Is that a dealer only version of the website?
You can visit motorcraft.com and you can purchase time time for the material and you can look at the same interactive measurements like you see here
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod We have a paid subscription IDS, but have never seen tests run directly from PC/ED
Having a paid subscription for IDS does not dictate your ability to access the information that you see me use
My truck is at the dealer now getting the whole dpf,scr & doc replaced on mr. fords dime. They already replaced the reductant heater & nox1 sensor & that did not fix the dreaded p207f apparently my truck falls in the 5% that needs the entire dpf system replaced.thank god it it is covered under the recall being that it is $5000 just for parts. 2015 f250
And yes it did go into derate mode for two weeks then it went into engine idled mode. While I was waiting for the parts to arrive.
Hmmm
Did you disconnect the batteries before welding on the truck
No, never had. I am aware of the risks. Body work, ok different story...what im doing, no
Had the dreaded CEL and warning of 50 mph in 50 miles come up on our 2012 F250 with 98k. Stopped in the nearest Ford dealer, left the truck running, they scanned for codes, P207F Reductant Quality Sensor Circuit Performance. Shut the truck off, removed the scan tool, start the truck message gone, no more code, and truck runs fine. This happens about once a year and the code goes away after being read, by time a tech looks at it, nothing to do because there’s no codes. Any suggestions?
Same thing that was wrong with this truck
Can anybody let me know what EGRCBV pid stand for. Again thank you so much
Egr control bypass valve
JB Weld it. Just kidding.
Be nice to have that laptop
You can buy that software, or even better you can download Forscan for free and do almost all the same stuff on any Ford!
What’s the trick to get out of derate?? Tried the steps by the book along with another ford tech and no luck…
It HAS TO BE TO A TEE. Email us if you need assistance
What other way could you perform a def injector nozzle clean on a 2014 if you don’t have access to an IDS program. I have a p207f only code coming up. Trying to do what I can, if I can before I end up having to take it in to see the Doctor. Thanks
Petty much only with a scan tool...
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod Thats what I kinda figured but wasn't sure. Found your channel trying to diag this issue. Lots of professional here on your channel. Thanks for sharing you knowledge.
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod One more thing. When replacing the nox sensor and module, is it a plug and play or does the module need any programming?
Yes module will need 2 be programmed
Stay locked baby, cuz all we do is assist
Do you know if you can do the egr test with forscan?
Yes....
Where would go to find it on forscan?
@jamesberkey6793 it doesnt work like that man.....
What is wrong if engine does not run rough on the egr cooler test even thou you commanded the egr to 60 percent and turbo vgt to 60 ..i had one 3 weeks ago and it did not change the way truck ran ???
From here, i cldnt tell ya guy
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod i just expected it to run rough like yours but it didnt run bad at all .we removed egr cooler and ckeaned core but didnr help the code ..how many homes should be in the def injector ours only had 3 but passes

Is ford ids a stand alone e software or does it have supporting programs?
By itself
Do you need a vcm3 or is an rp1012 good?
I dont know what an rp1012 is...not that will not work with ids or fdrs
Is PTS available to non ford employees?
When you were controlling the egr were you still within ids? Just got the program and learning to navigate.
Yes it is.
It might take him a couple of weeks to get back from going to the bank and remortgaging his house for the two sensors and modules
what area are you in?
Motorcity playa
What software are you useing?
Ids
Ok good deal I have been thinking about buying ids
I have that cod p207F and finally found out NOX sensor number 1 is out of wack thing will pop up to like 1300 while driving then back to 0 sometimes while driving
Also this is a really good video thanks
Gotta say, PowerStroke Tech Talk w/ARod. I struggled through this video, it just wasn’t your normal flow of getting to the problem and killing it. Maybe it was too much computer screen time, maybe it was the elevator music? Also I didn’t get to see or hear those Milwaukee’s.
Sorry bud 🤷♂️ maybe next time...
But next time is 2 days away!!!!!! Any 6.4’s in the shop?
Haha lolol 6.4's yea but i aint werkin on it, nutha tech got it. Friday...a 6.7 gravy lick that EVERYONE misdiagnoses or uses the parts cannon...

@@codyellig4631 exactly why I said what I said. If you read this and dont know the delete is a DIY the tech part of my post tells you not to ask the service guy at a shop to do it.

Back in December of 2021 I had a p207f code on my powerstroke took it to the dealership and they replaced the nox sensors 4 months later same code pops up again🥲 should I replace the nox sensors again?
No theres a pin point test for P207F that needs to be followed
