Had one come in p22ee lite only comes on when pulling heavy trailer. Injector flowed plenty of Def computer was already updated finally looked inside injector mount was totally plugged had one tiny hole clean crystals out all is well. Thanks for your video
+Edward Wilson Cool. Yeah any build up in the "reaction tube" can cause this code. Try to break up the build up as much as possible and then clear the code. Have the customer monitor it over time to see if the code returns....if so than the catalyst may be needed. thanks for watching and make sure to subscribe!
Thank you, David for taking the time in sharing this info with us.
+Ralph M Bohm Your welcome Ralph. I appreciate you taking the time to find and watch the video. Don't forget to subscribe
I had to have the My Cat replaced on my 2013 ram with 30k already, dealer warranty anyway. thanks for the info, subscribed
+Steve Sandrolini Thank you for watching and subscribing! I greatly appreciate it.
Thank you for the info, looks like its cheaper to just do a delete if DEF fluid doesn't resolve the issue.
It depends on the year.....some had a recall that included replacing the SCR. Otherwise I agree that when the price exceeds the delete....the delete wins. Thanks for watching and make sure to subscribe
Very informative video as usual, keep it up. In your opinion, does DEF brand really matter? I’ve used the Wal Mart brand, Super Tech, a couple of times and heard it caused issues. So I switched to the Blue DEF from Peak. Thanks again.
Many thanks Frank! I havent seen any issues personally with any particular brand. Seems Peak Blue DEF is the major player in the game. Appreciate you watching and make sure to subscribe! Also....have you watched my video on DEF fluid? Here is the link and it covers alot of details about DEF: ruclips.net/video/Tvh7-KhGlzo/видео.html
I have 2015 2500 ctd , last week I am getting p2229 code . Try to clean it with scanner but it won't go away. Any idea what to check, I am far from dealers
Do you have a video to install upgrade compressor?
I had my dpf heater replaced and I still get Ford DTC’s P207F .
Truck is not speed reduced to 50miles per hour or anything .
How can I solve this problem?
Did you say Ford?
MotorCity Mechanic ford memory DTC’s P207F
@@topvideos9863 If its a Ford then I wont be able to help you. I dont work on Fords
Thanks for all your videos.
Do you know what p226B code is?
It says boost pressure too high.
Dave, any way you can do a video on troubleshooting the p0191 code for the 6.7 fuel rail pressure out of range I'm having a hard time figuring this one out
I will keep it in mind. I need one with an issue to be able to attempt it. I can try to get you the diag flow chart if you want....might not be as helpful as you think. Mainly because I believe some special tools are needed
MotorCity Mechanic
I’ll buy or get any tools needed. It’s a mission at this point. Would appreciate the charts
Mine seems to happen at idle. Code will come on maybe three times a month. Can view and map fuel rail pressure on mini max and usually stays 5k at idle. Will drop to 4 without setting code when go to idle after exiting hwy. had oil sample done and no signs of fuel in oil. No other codes. So what would be really useful is if dodge or Cummins had a flow map for the Ecm that stated exactly what parameters would trigger that code
Email me the exact year and model and I will find what I can to send you . david@motorcitymechanic.com
I just had the P20EE. Didn’t have the other one and the dealer is telling me the whole thing has to be replaced including the sensors. They want to charge me $2700 out of pocket. About 88,000k miles! They won’t cover it. Wouldn’t both codes pop up if the catalyst was bad?
Just bought a 2018 ram 3500 with 118k, week later p20ee code pops up.. hoping I'm not screwed
I recommend having it checked to be 100% sure....might be something simple like a software update possibly.
2015 Ram 2500 Cummins. 70,000 miles. Starting to have constant issue with emissions . DPF filter replaced, SCR just replaced $865 Nox sensor just replaced by dealer. All cost are now mine so I am concerned. I love my truck and wanted to keep it stock but after 45,000 miles it has been a problem. At what point do you look at a delete ? What would I delete first ? How can I find someone to do this for me ?
Hey quick question i have a 2013 2500 and just had the p20ee code and p1c54 code just pop up i know what the first codes is thanks to your video... Whats the second code and how much could i be looking at in cost
Both codes point towards the SCR and its operation. When you get time....email me your VIN so I can check a few more things for you. david@motorcitymechanic.com
Hi I have a 2018 ram with 120k miles and just got the code p20ee. I have been using a hi traffic truck stop for the def fluid. Can bad def or overfilling the def tank cause this?
Can you help me I have a 2015 dodge Cummins 2500 the code P20EE pop up and my truck doesn't want to start it say service 4x4 my battery running at 12 is the problem but everything turn on
I have a 2014 ram 3500 it as a p249e code coming up. how would I fixs this?
thanks
Quick question I got the code p20ee I noticed that my DEF meter was low can it be the reason that the code came up?
Evening.....it would have to pretty much run out for that to be the cause. Common issue is the SCR catalyst assembly. If you can....email me at david@motorcitymchanic.com with the VIN number and I will do some more checking.
I'm getting p203f & p207f ... after getting DEF from a bottle .... i think it was a old bottle ... I'm to clear the engine light thats on and its not turning off for some reason
I would have the fluid in the tank tested to see if okay. It may require draining and refilling with fresh DEF. If tests okay then further testing such as the pump fluid.....injector spray....etc will need to be done. May end up with an SCR catalyst issue which is fairly common. The code should clear....not sure why its causing you issues. Also.....does the DEF gauge show the level to be low like maybe the level sensor is not reading correctly?

i was getting the sign saying to take the vehicle to the dealer for service otherwise I won't be able to go faster then 5 mph. but i don't see that anymore...but tried using a different computer to erase the codes... but i can't erase them... should i try disconnecting the battery terminals? that might reset the system or something...what do you think about egr delete and dpf delete? .... thnx for your reply .... really appreciate it
I get asked about those deletes so much lately that I am not sure who I did or didnt talk to about them lol. I hear good things but dont have any personal experience. I just dont know what the cons might be. Then again I havent ever heard of anyone un doing a delete and putting the original parts back on. Some code readers I have tried wont erase the codes for some reason...not sure if thats the issue you are having but it should clear unless its a circuit related code that is currently acting up. The manual reset using the battery terminals doesnt always work but its an option. Disconnect all battery cables and at drivers side battery....touch the 2 cables together for about 2 minutes. Then reconnect all and see what happens.
Will a DEF delete fix this problem.
Not sure all thats involved with the delete....havent ever checked into it. I would assume it would but again that depends on what is done and if programming is involved. Thanks for watching and make sure to subscribe.
So my truck just came up with that code. It actually says I have 45 miles left until it starts running at 5pmh max
Does the warranty would cover any fixture? It's a 2014 ram 2500 and I bought it brand new. No mods have done to it
Thanks
+Jesse Murillo Evening Jesse.....what's the number of miles? If under 100k miles then you should be fine and it should be covered under the warranty. Keep me up to date on what they find and what the outcome is. Thanks for the question and make sure to subscribe
I had the same codes come up yesterday. It says 136 miles left to limp mode. My question is can I drive it to the dealership(about 300 miles) without it going into limp mode? 2014 2500 no mods or anything but I have 169,000 miles on it.
+Fred Johnson At one time the limp in would be it would not start after a certain number of miles and then later on it was it would not go over 5mph in a certain number of miles. It depends on what the message is saying. If the mph message comes up then you may need to have it towed. If its the will not start......then all you need to do is not cut the vehicle off until you get to the dealership and when there I would still keep it running so that they can move the vehicle until its checked. Thanks for watching the video and make sure to subscribe. Make sure to update me on what they find wrong.
2018 6.7 with 32k miles...already throwing depower warning def codes...DO NOT USE TRUCK STOP DEF!!! BUY ONLY THE PREMIUM DEF FLUID FROM WALMART/AUTO STORES!
Redundant...not reductant. Jus saying.
Well actually it is reductant.......P207F-REDUCTANT QUALITY PERFORMANCE. But thanks anyway.
You are correct, my mistake.
I had to double check myself because my wordage can be wrong at times. For example I say Cummins but it comes out sounding like Cummings. I catch some flack for that for sure even though I am not meaning to hahaha. Thanks for watching the video and for commenting.
My mistake, it is reductant, re·duc·tant
rəˈdəktənt/
noun CHEMISTRY
a reducing agent.
