    In the times that Beethoven and Mozart lived, music was largely performed by hundreds of musicians on a stage. Orchestras got smaller, until with the entry of direct amplification, bands of just a few could fill enormous concert halls. Today, Charles, you have taken music to the goal; one string! I guess that makes you the "one string wonder", you think? It was awesome, though. I'm just some guy in the audience and that was far more than I knew or believed possible- in a minute, not all strung out, you know! FR

    Very cool and impressive!!!! I remember back on tour back in the '80s, I blew the "A" string on the second song of the set and I only had one bass on stage. I had to finish the set using the alternate positions on the remaining strings. The set went off without a hitch.... but, it taught me a valuable lesson. Be comfortable on any string and any progression without thought! Practice, Practice, Practice... this is how you get to where you can play on one string.
    Love your content and can't wait to hear and see what you are going to do next! Hmmmm, maybe a bow solo on one string?

    You're an absolute legend, Charles. Sadly, I don't even think it's possible for musical laymen to understand just how impressive this actually is. Sure, it will sound "cool" to anybody who listens, but to understand the raw aptitude, complexity, and downright mastery of the particular instrument being put on a display here requires an interest in music that far surpasses casual listening. To put it in terms for those laymen, there are vast swaths of lifelong dedicated bass players who will never come close to achieving this level of talent. And that, of course, is no insult to them. Far from it. It is merely paying due homage to Charles' borderline inconceivable level of proficiency when playing this instrument. Keep up the amazing work, good sir!

      @Wag2112 2 года назад

      Well said ! Billy Sheehan is on this level , and this style . I love several different styles - all mostly revolve around rock and metal , but I love watching Davie504 too. Very "not metal" style and I am stupid when it comes to "slap". I just don't feel it when playing. Geddy, John Myung - Fantastic , I cant play it , but awesome. Steve Harris - my Idol . Pete Way - Simple but completely mezmorizing and required for the UFO stuff. Jaco ? not so much . Charles is on this level. That's what the normal music fan doesn't get.
