What’s amazing about One String and this song to me is it’s a modern folk song. I’ve been listening to 1900s-1940s folk music which honestly some of it goes back to the 1800s, some 1700s. One string captures the simplicity of folk music perfectly combining it with a story telling chops older than time. This song could’ve been written 300 years ago- at least the chorus. We got to witness an old timey folk song with a modern twist and written in our life times- and that’s what one string does. He’s connected so well to the human experience- I was instantly captivated by this and I only just discovered.

I only use three strings of the guitar- two when I major, minor or diminished or half step- and three when I throw a 7th in there. I’m a terrible guitar player but I love to write and perform and people don’t give me flak about it. Then I see Brushy One String and I think- oh, I have a hero now. Guy just uses one string and he’s world famous. God Bless.
