Well...They came from Berkely and Julliard. They are very talented and humble guys. I've been listening to them since Images and Words. Great channel kids!
17:25 “ Being that good is just mean🤣” and 17:30 “That was insanity That was all the flexing of the flexist flexors in the entire universe of flex! “ 🤣🤣💜💜💜💜 Love you guys💜
This dying soul is a must for u guys You will blown away from the very beginning. If not plz try legendary "Count of Tuscany" or In the name of god. Two masterpieces from DT. Love your DT reaction ❣️
That "I would think that's fun, I think we should try it, let's give it a go" at 21:31 came out in 110% italian style. Are you sure you're not Wolfe Hunterinos?
Dream Theater truly cranked up the guitars on this record 'Six degrees of inner turbulence' in 2002... also, Mike Portnoy (ex-drummer) added his vocals w/ vocalist James LaBrie on the record. On the next album 'Train of thought' in 2003, Dream Theater brought in the metal 🤘🤘🔥🔥for sure. The one after that ('Octavarium' in 2005) was more of a return to the prog & pop rock influences... Fans like me were really happy w/ the double CD 'Six degrees of inner turbulence'... 'The test that stumped them all' is still one of my faves.
"Whatever you are, be a good one."- Abraham Lincoln "Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past."- George Orwell "That was all the flexing of the flexiest flexers in the entire universe of flex."- Suzie Q
I had the privilege seeing these guys play this album in its entirety when it came out, it was mind blowing 🤯 First DT show. Love the reaction 🤘🏻please continue the 12 step suite, you won’t regret it. You will hear reoccurring themes all throughout the suite.
didn't know they did that where was that? I don't think that was the norm on that tour right? I saw them on that tour my first time too at the Greek in LA but it was a mix setlist
Hi Travis, Hi Suzie. Thank you so much for your reaction to this brilliant track from my favourite band. Thanks to Eric for suggesting the Glass Prison. I saw them on tour in Manchester UK for this album...but the album had not been released...they opened up the gig with the Glass Prison...first time on hearing the whole venue was blown away 🤘. The quote I like was Suzie's quote about flexiness...it was so funny I was laughing out loud. I will have to write it down 👍. Travis...You are right about all the members of the band basically soloing at the same time dude. Looking forward to your next reaction guys. Peace and love from Liverpool UK 👍✌️🤘☮️
I've been a DT for 24 years and this is till my favourite song!!! Great reaction and appreciation for the song which changed my opinion of prog metal forever! Mike Portnoy (the drummer at the time) wrote the lyrics about his struggles with alcoholism and his steps through the AA program and this song is the starting steps and there are other songs from the next albums which continue that journey.
Good piece that'Z for sure . Remember the beginning so iconic ! Bell of Portnoy Sir Travis . 5'44" Love this Spirit Mylady , love this duo . I think this title was inspired by Portnoy himself . Your colours match blinds the eyes 15'30" Yes my Sir the magic is there . Odd timing by the band with splash upbeat cymbal accents by Portnoy . 20'15" ❣ Agree Sir agree on what you two have said . And bytheway... inspired comments by you two my FriendZ ❤
I have been a dream theater fan since the very beginning this is by far one of my favorite songs by this band everybody is firing on all cylinders and I mean everybody including the singer you to wolfhunters are unbelievably incredible your reactions your knowledge of music everything is just so spot on and it's an absolute pleasure to watch the two of you together
I like that yall are doing Dream Theater reactions, not many people do a lot of them. I just saw them Live in Washington DC on March 6th, and yes, they still bring it like they are still young.
This to me is apex of dream theater. With so much beautiful stuff on either side of this top. Quite a few people are able to play this stuff today, but to write it in the first place. Thats the most amazing thing to me.
Nice to see someone tackle this one in a reaction. I've loved this album ever since it came out, and this track in particular stands out significantly, for reasons which you've discovered. I remember seeing Dream Theater live for their previous album (Metropolis Pt II) in a neighbouring city, and then six months or so later they came around full circle for a gig in my hometown which was so small and low key (I happened to spot it on the back of a local music booklet, stacked on the counter in my local rock bar) that I had to double check that it wasn't a tribute band. These two gigs were most notable for being the first DT gigs that I managed to catch, and most prominently with their new keyboard player Jordan Rudess. Whilst Metropolis II was the first album that Jordan was with them for, I always felt that this album was a proper clean creative break, free from any ties to past work, and after awaiting their efforts boy did it deliver.
Every single reaction that you do is amazing you two are very funny and very serious about your reactions... You actually listen and give your honest opinions throughout... Love you guys.... Also on a side note.. Look into more dream theater any song will blow you away I promise... Ive seen these guys live 4 times.. They never ever disappoint... Thank you.. SQUATCH!!!!
Travis and Suzy, there are also drum videos with Mike portnoy and then calls it six degrees of inner drumming. He has more of them….also fun( for a drummer like me who also has ear for detail!!!!!) enjoy!!
Loved this SO MUCH!!! This is one of my favorite songs ever. Your reactions were gold!! 😄♥️ That's how I feel after the 9765391029th time I've listened to it 😆 I'm always here for your Dream Theater reactions, you guys are really good!! ❤️
Ya, they're that good! Such a rich bounty of talent doesn't always work but these lads are consummate musicians whose creative gifts and godly ability make for epic music. Love this group! Thanks for the fun reaction!
"That was all the flexing of the flexist flexors in the entire universe of flex! " you just explained dream theater in a way that I've been trying to since 1999... High definition of a roaming beast....
15:51 Is my favorite part of your reaction because everyone probably reacted the same way when hearing this. You're jamming out, and then you just freeze in awe and just watch what is about to unfold. I know that's how I was when I heard this part!
The Glass Prison, about an alcoholic trying to escape his glass prison, the bottle but it's his only place to escape' Mike Portnoy is awesome on drums!
Loved Suzy’s little scream at 16:50, almost like a safe word 🤣. Also the entire reaction during the breakdown and double keyboard-guitar solo was amazing!!! This song is a monster
You have the coolest wife EVER! Props to you guys for your genuine reactions to this group. Would love to see you do a reaction to A Change Of Seasons. That was the first song I ever heard from them and I’ve been a fan since. Trust me you won’t be disappointed 🤘🏻
This album was 2 discs. The first had 5 or 6 songs on it. The second, well, it was the 6 Degrees suite. 1 song, 6 parts, all amazing!! About 40min long. You should do a reaction to that.
Odd-time signatures at its best. This is my 2nd favorite DT album ever, that never changes. As for the vocals, during the first part of the song, Portnoy (drums) starts off singing, that dark voice and then is followed by the absolutely incredible James LaBrie's leading vocals. The guitar from Petrucci along with Myung's bass is just out of this world. As for the keyboards well Jordan Rudess is always turning everything quite interesting for every soul listing to this. Pops to you guys, remember this is a double CD, disc number two is a 42 minute piece of insanity 🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I got into Dream Theater back in 03 and they’ve been one of my favorites ever since. Prog Rock/Metal royalty! Their entire discography is such a fucking treat! Made me become a much better musician as well and tipped me off to so much more complex and interesting music. Your minds were melted and deservedly so! That’s Dream Theater for you!
Hi Watched u guys for a while That is real old great music about addiction.. Let us look at the new problem. Housing. Terraforming other planets is a new problem and THE ALIEN is a trip.. Must watch with video. I hope to see you out amongst the Stars. Check out the Lyrics and it was from James LaBrie listening to podcast(Joe Rogan) about finding new worlds with Elon Musk.. So the Song had a wicked cool springboard to develop a story which is True.. They FLEX all the way through the epic trip to the Cosmos..The Flex stuff was funny and enjoy your FUN Which is what this is... Oh i try to practice Bass and Guitar to these guys and it does help you improve drastically though noone can do it like them and there is only 1 DREAM Theater. Thanx Again
This and panic attack were the first two DT tracks that I ever heard.. been hooked ever since.. just saw them last week and they were great!! Check out “This Dying Soul” or “The root of all evil” or “In the Name of God”
I'm just so jealous that your wife loves progressive metal almost more than you! My wife hates this type of music so I'm always on my own.....but that's ok. One piece of advice when it comes to DT is to stay grounded in what the music really is. Don't let the crazy time signatures and solo's encompass all your reactions because they will bombard you with those until your ears melt lol!! Great reaction, I really enjoy you both! \,,/
Hey guys! Amazing reaction as always, pls react to the song 'a view from the top of the world' from their last album, is a supermega epic 20 minutes song with an astonishing interlude😍
Love watching peoples first impressions of DT especially when they drop the power beats. Looking forward to the stink face reactions! You guys are the best! p.s. love the comment "being that good is mean" I actually lol'ed
This is apart of "The Twelve-step Suite" that Mike Portnoy wrote. Woah this is great, I wasn't aware you two started reacting to Dream Theater. I am all on board for this, hopefully I am not too late. Great band, tons of very complex, epics songs.
Hey, guys! Cool reaction! You're so right about the musicianship those guys bring to the table... It is incredible. With your reaction I wished you would have mentioned the lyrics since the last part is so important for the whole journey represented in the song. MASTERPIECE!
"Being that good is just mean." Lol... I've been a Dream Theater and progressive metal/rock fan since Yes, King Crimson, Kansas, Rush, etc. I've played metal and rock drums for 45 years. These guys take what Kansas intended to do and fed it intravenous steroids: Each instrument is a solo for every instrument all through every song. I'm as amazed at DT as you are. Have been since Images and Words. I love watching you guys.
Love it you both reaction at 15:52 and so on.. 😅🤘 And yes, DT are crazy talented musicians. They have become role models for various musicians in the world.
Well, you've already reacted to the Shattered Fortress (live in Boston), and now The Glass Prison... by logical succession, you should do This Dying Soul (Live at Budokan version is the BEST), the second of the five "12-Step Suite" songs written by drummer Mike Portnoy about his battle with alcohol. Shattered Fortress and Glass Prison are songs 5 and 1 of the suite, so you started off with the last one haha. I think you're going to especially enjoy the Live at Budokan version of This Dying Soul, I'm not a Patreon member so I can't pay my way to the front of the line in terms of requests, but you really should react to it. And after that, react to their magnum opus, Octavarium, preferably the live "Score" version. Octavarium is such an amazing song that it's got its own Wikipedia site, which deserves a read-through especially if you're going to react to it.

Um... Rush... lol only 3 people too.
