This was an horrible day for sure and I still can't see images from the towers without being sad.I had to turn my eyes away with the videos at the beginning ... Thank god for artists like DT to help us heal one note at a time

First time I saw DT leave I had the exact same reaction, everyone was so amazing I didn't know where to look. I wanted to focus on all of them at the same time so I can really soak it all in. Thankfully, I had the chance to see them a few times again after and even meet them in person.
Most of the band members are from Long Island (the one exception being the singer James LaBrie who is Canadian), so this was just as emotional for them as it was for the audience in back in 2006.
That instrument Jordan is playing right there starting from 3:15 is called continuum finger board, that you can play any note by just sliding your finger across the instrument, and pitching as well holding a finger at a note and sliding the finger up/down and vibrato as well by vibrating the finger against the board. Pretty cool instrument, huh? Imagine that for your band? ;)))))) I personally remember (here in finland) it was a total shock to hear the 9/11 attack from our news transmission... Sad day for all around the world, especially for those who lost their loved ones in the attack. I'm really sad and pissed at the same time this kind of this has to happen in the modern world. :(((((((
I went to NYC last week and Im sorry , I went to the 9 11 memorial museum, so sad. Im back in Barcelona, Spain. Love you guys.I am a New Yorker after a week there. ❤
9/11 was such a devastating day that even I, being only 6 years old at the time and living in the UK remember that day. My parents were watching the footage on the news and of course being so young I didn't realise the gravity of the situation but looking back now it's crazy that such a world altering event happened in my life time.
Every time I go see DT live (seen 'em about a dozen times), I strategically situate myself in front of John Petrucci so as not to miss a millisecond of his awesomeness. The other band members have their moments, of course, but Petrucci is consistently awesome throughout. From my regular vantage point I can see them all, but keep Petrucci front & center. Last time I saw them, in January, we were just 4-5 yards away from him. The only band member we could barely see was Mangini, but that may be just because he was hiding behind a massive drum kit. ;)
My middle son was born the day before at a hospital a few blocks from our State Capitol building. Called my wife and told her they were coming home that day because we weren't sure what else was going to happen. Google the album cover for their live album Live Scenes From New York that was released September 11, 2001 ... eerie. They pulled what they could off the shelves and put a different cover on it.

I have seen DT live two times and they are mesmerizing. They are my favorite. This song is absolutely flawless.
I've seen them over 20 times since 1993. They've blown me away every single time. NO ONE COMES CLOSE!
