      I have to confess bud, i'm gonna have to finish this later. Got part way through and stopped to go watch the new film. I forgot how well the films worked psychologically. Enjoyed it i'll admit. I'll go find the pinhead one too. Been a bit behind last week or two but starting to catch up now. Shows the interview had the desired effect though as it got me to go watch. Look forward to the next one.

      It's a job though, at the end of the day, you're not going to bad mouth your boss are you.
      The whole friend thing is debatable from multiple angles too, if Doug lied about his reasons and attempted to sabotage the movie then that isn't what a friend should do to another, therefore what Gary did is completely fair, at that point the friendship was over, because of Doug and his lies, Gary was merely trying to save his film, something he cared about, and revealing a sentence of truth, which in no way was massively negative, it was merely the truth. Isn't that bad a thing to do and understandable. I would have done the same. There are two sides to every story but Doug Bradley's words on this are public, it can be traced down, so from what is out there, it would appear Gary has completely told the truth.

    • @zagorith14
      @zagorith14 5 лет назад +1

      MonkeyZorr It seems like you didn't really listen to anything Greg said in this interview. Doug completely disrespected Greg and his work, of which he was passionate about, and Greg tried to be cool about all that. Then Doug lied about what happened in his statements which then forced Gary to release the snippet of their personal emails to protect himself and his film. You attack Gary as if it's all his fault and Doug came out of it smelling like roses. That's total BS. I don't see any "character flaws". He even tried to reconcile their friendship only to be ignored and shunned by Doug. If anyone is succumbing to their emotional side it's Doug. He let his ego get in the way of their friendship. This is on Doug. There is absolutely nothing "debatable" about Gary's character. There is something "debatable" about your opinion though. Not the most enlightened.

    15 min in and loving it. I really don’t understand any dislike for Doug being in the film. His character was a breath of fresh air this franchise has desperately needed. My only complaint is there wasn’t more of his character along with the cenobites in the film. Thank you for sharing Mr. H!

    I would've loved to seen Gary's ending better. Maybe more Lament configuration designs possibly on walls, or faded on the auditors paper. This auditor was definitely a Nazi. lol For a sequel, I'd love to see a human Pinhead become a priest secretly recruiting new victims for the box. All to redeem his cenobite self by a trail with the auditor. Great fucking interview.

    There was so much hype over the first hellraiser film so i went out and watched it on vhs and was so disappointed it wasn't that gory and scary film i was hoping for acording by the review of it in all the papers.So when part 2 came out for me it was so much better in story and effects and so call gore however there has never been any better hellraiser since. That's why i havent watched this latest new take even the 3rd and 4th bloodlines are just pass able to watch the rest are just bin jobs so one day i will watch this new take hope i wont be to disappointed mixed Hellraiser with zombies the living dead with real proper gore with lots of action

    I think Dimension films will give up the right to Hellraiser to somebody else I don't think the franchise will recover because of them Clive Barker do something

  • @grimreaper3882
    @grimreaper3882 6 лет назад +1

    I will agree on the fact that both the performance of the Auditor and Pinhead where good. But that is where the good things kind of stop. Yes, it looks like a fan film on a good budget. The dog scene was really nice and the idea of Hells minnions trying to get with the times.
    But the bigger problem I have with the film is the vision it went on, or better yet, the lack of any.
    I mean a cenobite in a costume? The house and generally the whole artistic style. Nude chicks with fake tits? And angels?! Really?? Bloody angels?
    It made the great vision Clive had for hell look like some bloody pet of Heaven.
    I don't have a problem with Pinhead gettin' turned into a human. That idea was already used in a comic, with Kirsty taking his place, and him not being able to return to back to human life, wanting to become an imortal or what ever.

  • @keikurono192

    Doug's annoyed because Clive hasn't gotten the rights back and Dimension is purposely keeping it away from him. And Clive has bad mouthed the Hellraiser sequels before. That's why Doug was probably annoyed as to why Gary would do this. If anything it seems more like a betrayal of Clive. And honestly I really do want them to stop. Adapt Clives other stories. Enough with Hellraiser. It died a long time ago and it's just an empty husk now.

    Coming back to all Mr H Hellraiser coz the last 18 months, apart from a few exceptions, everything new in the genre is sooooo disappointing. Like many others I presume, I’m tearing my hair out when this lore & talent are largely ignored whilst $millions+millions are used to produce utter sh*t.

  • @transmissionggb2820
    @transmissionggb2820 2 года назад

    Doug Bradley always says the 3rd movie was the best and the crew were much better than the first 2 and were more committed to making a better movie. So that comments on an interview by Doug tells me that he just wants camera time even if it takes away the things that made pinhead interesting in the first 2 movies which it did with terrible dialogue and his presence was just extreme and not so deep and intelligent as the first 2 movies were. I would rather have a good hellraiser film than Doug Bradley and for the first time since the 2nd movie we got an interesting movie, without him.

    • @Sam-yr8ls
      @Sam-yr8ls 3 года назад

      @@MrHReviews the scarlet gospels as in... the book... that after 20 years of Barker slagging off the entire franchise and everything to do with pinhead and every movie since the first 2 (both of which firmly planted that hell was what it was called by the normal characters, and that it was actually a different dimension, no 'devil' and angels involved, more lovecraftian than anything).
      And then when the book finally released after 20 years its a total mess and clearly a cash grab showing his disdain for what the character and the franchise has become? That book 🤣?
      I mean the book was terrible, you could tell how much he hated it and how much he clearly didn't want to write it. But mans got to pay bills. Hellraiser 1 and 2 along with the original book are where it all ends. Clive has said that himself over his whole career until he wanted to make some £££, which he is totally within his right to do and to destroy, which is what he did.
      Ok my dude 👌

    • @MrHReviews
      @MrHReviews  3 года назад

      @@Sam-yr8ls I know it's dog shit. But the book hellraiser is based off of, is literally called the hellbound heart. Leviathan is a gatekeeper of a version of hell. Whether you think it's the judao Christian hell, or not, isn't the point, it's a hell in that universe. Their version of it.
