Remake that sounds like an extended version of the original but with a new and completely bibical reimagining of the cenobites and the dark kingdom of Hell
A remake where Frank actually grows back his skin instead of killing his brother and taking his skin, remake that's more parallel, extended, and reimagined.

@@jon79jw61 although I also don’t like dead meat you are very wrong. Every dead meat episode dives into the background, making, cast comments, and more of every movie he covers. It’s a lot more than just counting kills. That would be like 2 minute video for every movie he covers.
I would love to hear you narrate the Scarlet gospel and actually use different voices while doing it I think you would do a great job

There IS a hellraiser audio book, hellbound heart audio book to be more accurate, and its read by clive barker. As good as THIS reading is, it is NOT that.

It's a remake pitch. But yeah you're missing the more detailed start, the fact there's no pinhead and in part two you see a brand new creation of pinhead. From a brand new person. You missed a lot pal
@@MrHReviews I caught part two. It is different when it comes to hell and the cenobites. The other characters feel the same to me. Not that they are bad, just done already. Hopefully, Pinhead can come into the 21st century properly with a complete reimagining of the characters and bring a new hell with it.

That is a neat contrast, Frank is perverse and Larry is clean but hates the sight of his own blood. I wonder with if they both have the same phobia. Frank's sexual perverseness and Larry's perverseness for watching violence and a shared phobia for seeing their own blood would make an interesting "combined" Cenobite.
May have been a cool Hellraiser 2 Cenobite. A combined Frank and Larry Cenobite that Kirsten has to confront due to her trauma at the end of the first movie.
Kind of like Frank's connection to Larry is what kept him in the middle and not going full Cenobite, not Julia.
In the original script of Hellraiser 2, Frank and Larry were combined together in Hell. They each had an arm that was sown to the other.

Check this Sisters - what this remake clearly needs is a Black 'Pin-head'; 'Chatterer' as a Transgender Woman; while the character formerly known as 'butterball' is now called 'body-positive-ball' & Frank Cotton is now Francesca - obviously! And, the Female Cenobite known as 'deep-throat' -- who is seemingly-immortal, nearly invincible, has Telekinetic abilities & can torture men to death for fun by traversing portals to Labrynthian Hell -- would be more empowered as 'Deep-Gloat,' and naturally is now in a Lesbian relationship with Kirsty Cotton which they have to keep secret from the oppressive, fascist ruler - 'Lepatriarcamanathan'.
It sounds like a better film than the other remake.
Well its probably better this way because the Hellraiser franchise has been on a massive downward spiral, almost since its inception when you think about it
(Pinhead was constantly hamstrung as the movies went on -- first humanising him, then making bargaining possible, then making it so he can't actually take the puzzle box from you and then getting his ass kicked by a new cenobyte with ease... and that was just the first 2 films... 3rd film he was stuck in a box!! Even the competent parts of the franchise quickly took away the idea of him being a threat and would no doubt continue on that trajectory.... again, this was the COMPETENT part of the series..)
May aswell call it a dead series and move on because clearly it's never going to be in the hands of anyone who's capable enough to get it onto film.. Unfortunate but its better to have no film than a bad one.
This is my hellraiser canon as far as I'm concerned in this order
1- the hellbound heart/first film.
2-the scarlet gospels.
I think hellraiser judgement was better than the other hellraiser movies, except 1 and 2, and is definently better than hellraiser revelation.
Did you watch Judgment? If we take away that movie I would agree with you. With it , no.

I distinctly remember my first viewing of the original Hellraiser. The Cenobites instantly captured my imagination...they were the most unusual & original monsters I'd ever seen on film.
Perhaps the way to go is not a of remake or even a "re-imagining" but to take the cool core concept (opening the door to another dimension, via the use of some arcane device, inhabited by an order of ascetics beyond good & evil) and create a whole new mythology.
Bondage & S&M are now mainstream and the look of the Cenobites (once eye-poppingly innovative) has become boring & predictable.
Turning up the nastiness & gore a la "Hellraiser: Judgment" would be pointless...your average issue from Avatar Press Comics "Crossed" series shows in grueling detail more than what Barker could have imagined for this updated Hellraiser. Amping up the weirdness, the uncanny and creepy factor is the way to go.
Hopefully, some young visionary filmmaker out there will rise up to the challenge and create a whole new series inspired by the elements that made the Clive Barker IP so successful.
Being the avid fan that you seem to be I presume you have read the hell bound heart.. Have you considered writing some fan fiction yourself as I would listen to it as your voice is very soothing.. Plus I love hellraiser!
And too add.. I'm a huge fan of inferno and revaluations as I feel they work well as independent story's. I would love to see a TV series as I feel this would be the only way to go now.. Hopefully Gary could get that going!
Well, I can get why you think this script is even better- although I think the studio didn't pick-up this script, as they probably wanted more changes to the original movie.
Not that I agree with that sentiment at all - just I see it's something studio executives would think...

I would love 2 see this film, hopefully day change their mind stop worrying so much stop thinking about money so much what happened do the days when people just done things to do things the people like not just for big budget and money

Call me crazy but the only way I want hellraiser to continue is with gary j tunnicliffe and Paul t Taylor. “Yeah that’s right”. I desperately wanna see a follow up to judgment. That has to happen. Frankly I wanna see any story that gary j tunnicliffe comes up with. That includes that enter darkness one, and the holy war one from way back then. They both sound interesting. And if I truly had it my way I’d like to see a remake to revelations. With him and Paul doing it. The way it shoulda been done in the first place. Lastly, it would be cool if Clive Barker came back to the series. But not for a remake. Come on now. If he did actually come back I would much rather see a follow up to hellbound. And just ignoring everything else that came after. But that’s just me.

A nice read by you mate, i look forward to part 2 but would i want to see any more hellraiser in this era of remakes that dont deliver, sadly not, the remake has ruined film, remakes are more prevalent than new ideas and its getting on my tits! But you do a great read up and theres far more promise in using ones imagination that seeing any more hellraiser films whoever may be involved, id rather listen to you read and slip into my own thoughts, and for that you have my thanks

It's a twist on the first movie. Normally I think it's very artifical and lazyto make a remake with a female maincast instead. But this feels more natural. They should have gone from "evil-punishing cenotibes" to this one.
Well.... it's been 3 years, and it looks like HBO is going ahead with a "Hellraiser" continuation.
I'm have some serious trepidation about this for 2 reasons:
1: No Doug Bradley.
I have no problem with the idea of "sexless" or "genderless" Cenobites... and any fan of the actual source material shouldn't either. But I do have a problem with ANYONE other than Doug in the role of "Hell Priest" (Pinhead, to the uninitiated).
He too, is an exclusively film-born construct... but he plays the role so perfectly, that even when I am listening to Clive read the books himself, I insert Doug's voice whenever the Hell Priest speaks... which in the book is only a couple or a few times, but still... anyway, I digress.
2: It's a "soft reboot", that builds off of the canon and lore of the original films... but they haven't specified *WHICH* films.
I'm hoping they'll stop at "Bloodlines", but the fact that they haven't given a solid answer yet (to my certain knowledge) is making me nervous.
All that said, I will definitely at least give it a chance. Been a Hellbound Heart/Hellraiser/Clive Barker die-hard since 1989!
Also a long-standing cleric in "The Order of the Gash"... in the further regions of experience.

@@MrHReviews personally i'd rather see a series based on the early 90s comics. Individual horror stories that allude to the hellraiser mythology that then culminate into a big story exploring leviathan .
Great Narration voice but honestly if this was made it'd be a watch on streaming but not worth going to Theater for its simply not different enough from the original for me.

It sounds terrible. The best thing to do is a literal adaptation of the novella. Where Kirsty isn't the daughter. Where the pinned Cenobite isn't the lead. Play it straight. No weird hell puns. Set it either in the UK or the USA. Not kind of maybe both? The novella is already very film able.
This is the plot of the first film. I'm confused.
Should probably listen to what I say then. As I do say it follows it closely but there are differences. It's also a remake. So it would be the same plot. There are big differences however, primarily in the second half.
