Yeah I stopped watching even thought about unsubbing because of all the videos where he bitches about certain franchises. I subbed for the lore videos I hope he keeps up that work it's great.
What they really need right now is a nightbreed Netflix movie, where they eventually fight the centibites, rawhead rex, and hell maybe even candyman could be in the mix somehow. I would love to see a clive barker universe.
Honestly, I am kinda surprised all the lore from HR n Nightbreed hasn't already been milked by now for more films n shows. If done right I'm all about that shit. I hope these proposed tv n movie options being circulated around the internet actually come to fruition. And yes, like other ppl, I'd like to see a well drawn out n slow progression of a human's turn to a cenobite on film, cuz the Dr. kinda sucked. It could also be interesting to see an inherently "good" character slowly turned to the dark side...

Is it too much to ask for a new hellraiser movie that follows the cannon from the comics, maybe set in hell and following someone who opens the lament configuration and we then see their journey through hell leading to their transformation into a cenobite

I'm new to mister H's channel, but I was drawn to the hellraiser lore. However, I realized I joined late. I REALLY hope this isn't the last episode. I can't afford to support the channel any other way but by being a viewer, but I still appreciate what he's done. I'm off to catch up on some of his other series. Keep up the good work. Hopefully there's more hellraiser vids in the future. :)

Would be interesting if the creation of the box was a catalyst for a change in the maze and the cenobite's master. Like that the maze and their master prior to the boxes creation was much more disorganized an chaotic, and their master wished for a change to something more orderly reaching out to find someone to do that an finding the toymaker. We hear from Pinhead when he finds cenobite princess that the world she knew that they come from has changed much from when she was there.

The comics canon is strange too..with the box keeper...the saul of foetus...the 'lament of configuration' can be a building,a guitar..anything with relative complexe combinaison to use.
Mr. H, did you happen to cover your thoughts on what Hell may have been like prior to Leviathan establishing order? In Hellraiser 4, Pinhead mentions that Hell is more ordered and less "fun" than when Princess Angelique was in charge. Paul Gerrard had a cool theory about Leviathan laying dormant during Lucidique's reign, and was reawakened by Xipe Totec and the Order of Gash. I'm thinking perhaps Hell was more like Event Horizon, just a random hodgepodge of sex, torture, and mutilation before Leviathan took over. Your thoughts?
Those are interesting ideas but I'm pretty sure that Leviathan was always there, and Angelique was just his daughter. I think Pinhead says to Angelique "...when you were there" instead of "...when you were in charge". There are stories in the comics that go back to primitive days and even the distant future on another planet, which really raises some questions on the scope of Hell. I will say that I immediately notice the cenobyte connection every time I watch Event Horizon.

I've read of a few of the Graphic Novels and for me(just like in Marvel/DC)it's the secondary or background characters that I always found the most interesting.

I understand now that Pinhead in the Hellraiser Saga is like the Tall Man in the Phantasm Saga. However, I still wonder if the Cenobites have to start of as humans who are corrupted by Leviathan and the Lament Configuration. If they have to start off as humans then Elliott Spencer was not the first because the box was created 92 years before he was born. So, who was the first human to become Pinhead?
That was neat.
Its interesting I never knew what happened to De Reis. Let me lament as you say about a battle near the end of his career. Shortly before this event he was in the regiment of French soldiers that was under the command of Joan of Arc. When he found out the truth of her gender he left his post as so many did then. He fell under the employ of a baroness that was in a state of revolution from the French empire at the time. His experience in battle had won him a place as captain of her gaurd. She was rumored to have been involved in witchcraft and it is said that that she has planned on sacrificing a child of prophecy to her demonic gods over the abyssal vortex of oblivion. There was a Legion of French royal guards passing not too far from her castle and they heard of what was to come. Also that the plague may have infected the entire castle. With that done troops refused to go but in the end went because their captain insisted. In the heat of the initial seige both captains locked blades on the castle ramparts. That is when I stepped in chasing after satan after the crucifiction of christ across time. He stopped there in that era and took possession of De Reis and housed himself inside his helmet and I took a stand in the blade of the French captain. As their blades slammed against the others sparks flew from the blades as they made contact. De Reis was injured and I took advantage of the moment and imprisoned satan inside the reflective image of De Reis helmet and his head cleared as he regained control of his mind. He begged mercy and told the captain he was under possession by the sorcery of the baroness. He told him what was to happen and they rushed up the tower just in time before she sacrificed the child. De Reis hurled his sword straight through her abdomen, her blood splattering on the ceremonial bowl as she fell out the tower window to a 5 story drop. However as she fell her demonic gods opened a swirling portal to devour their sacrifice for her blood offering hit the bowl on the way out the window. That's the abridged version but I never knew he became a child killer afterwards. I guess satan came back and got his revenge later it seems

How does an "order", have a Baron or a Duke (titles given to land owners, or regional kings)? I was under the impression that "the Order of the Gash" was a religious order, or a magick society, which would account for "Pinhead" being its High Priest.
Any insight? Is it just another weirdness to assimilate as we move further away from Barker's creation?
I take the 'Order' as a knightly order - both religious and secular - So while a hell priest is able to exercise the power of Leviathan - a Duke would be in command of hells legions , with the ability to command and control areas of hell - just my 2 cents
Baron/Barron is the name of a demon from the Ars Goetia and historical Giles De Ray was trying to summon him while killing the children as a sacrifice.
Interesting new canon, more mannered and ordered than some ‘loose canon’ cenobites.

The order tangent could work in "Bloodlines" Pinhead mentions to Angelique ,"Hell is more ordered since you've last been there ." Give it take, however the push to an ordered hell is expanded in the comics so fifty fifty I believe.

You need to read Clive Barker's The Scarlet Gospels if you want a far more in-depth story of the Baron/Pinhead.

Dunno, it’s interesting of course but to know that another box, or something that works quite like the Lament Configuration, existed before makes it lesser somewhat. I even prefer the origin shown in Hellraiser Bloodlines as its makes a perversion of something joyful, a toy box, and the ruin of someone good like Le Marchand. And also the introduction of Angelique as a princess of Hell could also have inspired this “Baron” cenobite as it already gave an idea of a hierarchy in hell... Still isn’t it limiting to impose a nobility like structure to the Cenobites? Using something so... European and medieval when we know that perversion and desire are something of humanity through space and time?
The comics displayed many ways to open the gates. There were also many other puzzle box configurations as well. It is implied that different configurations summon different cenobytes, thus the Lament Configuration is designed to summon Pinhead and friends.

The reason we’re always given as to why so many potentially awesome Hellraiser movies (eg. Origins) will never be made is ‘money’. The budget required to deliver on the ‘vision’ means it could never be justified. However, Hollyweird has no problem wasting tens of $millions on woke/PC agenda movies a là Dark Fate & Charlie’s Angels. Makes me......angry!
