I loved the doctor cenobite in hellraiser 2.when they showed how a cenobite was made with needles injecting word blue and red fluids inside him and the wires wrapping around his face.I wish they would have an entire montage on how all cenobites are made.and actually show Leviathan as a being of flesh not just a pyramids shape entity.
I could see the surgeon filling a specific role in hell, it could have been a cenobite like the surgeon that created the chattering Beast or other Horrors. And though his eyes are sealed, I would imagine that he probably sees differently than the other blind cenobites. Those caps on his eyes maybe give him some other kind of sensory vision like x-rays or something.
Maybe he's a torturer? It makes sense to me with him being a former surgeon, he would know all the ways to cause horrible pain and suffering without killing people.
Awe but killing people outright is a waste of good suffering you know better, I like to think that he creates new ways of opening the wounds on new cenobites!

It is very accurate what you are saying, The most simple basic example is the orgasm (not trying to be rude or vulgar at all). The neurological centers of pleasure and pain are connected maybe the same. Funny alot of Cenobites from both the movie and comic verse and the Tortured Souls universes are almost all of them former humans of exceptional quality or ranking at what they did. An guess everyone else noticed they tend to be Cenobites doing hell versions of what they excelled in while living too. Wonder if anything polar opposite exists. In isolation it was a really good story, as a part of the hellraiser universe, though, it's so different from what we've had i almost like to think of it as an alternate universe (even though technically it is more cannon than most of the recent movies).

I am just going to say this. How interesting would it be if this surgeon, while yes a Cenobite, if some one did find themselves be treated by him, found he was the best surgeon ever. Like his hands were tools of life, able to perform any miracle at will. Ya he was deformed and turned into a cenobite, ya he could not talk normally, but some how he can go find out whats wrong with you just by being near you, know how to heal you and then he does it. I mean sure if some one opened the box and he came out he would wreck their day, but normally even being a cenobite he would not forget his code of honor. "Oh he might be a bit scary looking but his bed side manor is so gentle."
