  • In this video I talk about a recent commission, building the cut-down Sentinel used at Par harbour - home of the cut down Bagnalls, Alfred and Judy (or better known as Bill and Ben from the Railway Series by Reverend Awdry).
This custom model uses an RT Models kit as the basis but has been heavily modified to represent, as close as practicable, the example used at Par which had a cut down body giving it a really diminutive height so it was able to run under the GWR mainline.
I've had to re-engineer the drive to retain enough space for DCC sound - not an easy undertaking but why I love working on commission models. If you have a dream model you'd like me to help you bring to life then get in touch for a personal proposal. My website has a contact form: www.jameshilton-cmr.co.uk or you can email me from my page on Facebook (there is a link to there on my profile here).

I'd love to see the comparison to an MLW M636 🤣! It looks a great model: well done!

Thanks, yes, it wasn’t easy and thank goodness for the white metal components in the kit adding some much needed weight!

@@JamesHiltonCustomModelRailways Agreed. Weight is the key to smooth operations. Love the channel. Thanks for the effort you put into creating it!
