  • Algae bloom for the new planted tank is quite common. So don't sweat, small stuff. Just keep calm and do some treatment, if needed. :) In this video, I am using Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2, 3% solution) that usually can find easily from any pharmacy stores. It is safe to use H2O2 since its by product is just water and oxygen. Nevertheless, please take note that not only algae, but mosses might be sensitive with this chemical. So use with care. Hope you enjoy the aquascaping journey and pleasee subscribe for more useful information and inspiration about this hobby. Thank you. :)

      Thanks bro. I don't use any background sticker and the wall behind the tank is white colour, so it is quite bright. 😁

    Regards the algae on moss which is the solution? Thanks

    • @LitiAquaria
      @LitiAquaria  3 года назад +1

      Algae on moss is always the unsightly one. It would be the best to remove it at the earliest stage when you see it by using tooth brush. If that is too much, other than removing manually, you can trim those affected portion and reduce lighting period / intensity. It will help but the effect will be gradually, not immediately. 😊

    What if the algae is in plants ? Like anubias or other hard plants

    • @LitiAquaria
      @LitiAquaria  Год назад +1

      Those algae on plants like Anubias, you might need to remove it manually by a toothbrush first. If the leave is badly infected, it should be removed accordingly.

    Hi. H2O2 put on hardscape only right? How about the plants?

    • @LitiAquaria
      @LitiAquaria  3 года назад +2

      Hi buddy. Some plants like moss is quite sensitive with H2O2, so it is not really recommended to treat the algae on moss. I have tried to treat it on some other plants and the results is quite good. If you try on plants, make the H2O2 contact time as short as 15-20 seconds should be good enough.

      @@LitiAquaria may I ask, what do you mean by short contact time? After applying, immediately refill with water? Or how.

    Is it harm the fishes?

    • @LitiAquaria
      @LitiAquaria  2 года назад

      Hi Sumanta, with the small amount of H2O2, the fish and shrimps are safe. H2O2 byproducts are basically H2O and O2, so it is mostly safe in small amount. We try to minimal the impact to them by withdrawing the water and only apply H2O2 to those location that got affected by algae. :D
