    Is the aquarium light color spectrum nice it looks ok on youtube but is it better in person? I'm not sure what coral lighting I want. Or can you make a review with those lights.. Thanks!

  • @jamesking5579
    @jamesking5579 9 лет назад

    So how did your test go? I had an outbreak and I turned my lights off for about a month or so. With the lights off the it cleared up. I then went to a short light cycle and it ok. Now on a full cycle and it's starting up again. I might just see what my Tang, snails, and crab do before I get concern.

    Tanks looking good Mike! My knowledge on salt water and reefs is limited at best ; but could shortening the lighting period a bit possibly help out the algae issue? maybe turn the lights out 30 minutes or so earlier than usual? I know thats always a good option in a planted tank with algae.

    • @MASSAquariums
      @MASSAquariums  9 лет назад

      Yeah I will try that. They are only on for 6 hours as it is now but great idea. All my planted tanks are 6-7 hours max too

      Thanks. Do it Slash. You won't look back. It does cost a shitload but it's worth it just to have the ocean in your house.

      I will what size do you recommend for a beginner

    • @MASSAquariums
      @MASSAquariums  9 лет назад

      Mike over at Aarons Aquarium recommended I go bigger like a 40 or 75 but I just didn't have the cash so I figured I start small and see if I was even interested. Well it's like crack and I am saving for a big reef tank. For beginners the bigger you start the better. When little things go wrong in a reef the bigger the better. My 10 gallon can crash any second if I'm not staying on top of water changes and testing. It's easier when the tank is bigger.

    • @Campstovejeff
      @Campstovejeff 9 лет назад +1

      I have a 75 with nothing in it maybe I will use that my planted tank is doing great I have a update I just uploaded I will research what I need for the reef tank

      LVcichlids PEROXIDE IS CONVERETED TO WATER AND OXYGEN SHORTLY AFTER TOUGHING WATER HENCE THE "h2O2"............. I DIDNT DILUTE IT AT 3% AND I HAD AWSOME RESULTS. OUTSIDE THE TANK OF COURSE. DIPPED THE CORALS AND TONS OF WORMS AND STARFISH EMERGED... CRUSTACIANS HATE PEROXIDE. BE WARNED.

    are you still using the lighting from your first video? my tank is cycling and im looking for a better light. will it grow lps decently? i looked up that light and its only 10 watts. i know watts isnt very accuarate for led's, but still most ive seen for nanos are about 18-24. Im only wanting to grow softies and lps,, if thats helps.

      Thanks bro. Tank is coming along at that point where everything is settled then you start to get those little tiny problems like the GHA. LOL. Nothing to bad, all my levels are good.

      MASS Aquariums Why don't you go in an manually remove it. It looks like a big clump that you can easily remove.

    • @MASSAquariums
      @MASSAquariums  9 лет назад

      It's like Velcro bro. You can't pick it off. Even if you try and pull it. What ever you get you end up spreading it around the tank. Shit sucks.

    How soon until you upgrade your salt to a bigger aquarium? Looks like you are doing pretty good with your nano which usually is harder than the bigger aquariums!

    • @MASSAquariums
      @MASSAquariums  9 лет назад

      Pretty soon. I'm trying to save up some money so I can get everything. Need to put my slop sink in the basement and get my RODI unit to make my own water. Thanks for asking RICKY, Havnt seen a vid from you in awhile

      I'm going to have one on clownfish tomorrow! I also have one on feeding my baby frontosas. I look forward to seeing your progress with both the nano and your upgrades. If I don't have to owe too much money to the irs I won't be to far behind you in setting one up!

  • @BensApistoChannel
    @BensApistoChannel 9 лет назад +1

    You can ball bust me and my channel, I've got no problem with that. Maybe you need more crabs to snack on that algae. Aren't you in Massachusetts? Get a crab pot out and get to work! hehe

      Lol. Your on the list bro I'll start my research. Yeah I'm right near the ocean. They probably don't have emerald crabs around here but I'll take a look. Lol
